Hmm, that's odd! When did you notice this start? Is your phone and applications up to date?

How to turn off the voice over in Mac Pro
I somehow turned on the voice over on my macpro, and it is repeating everything i am doing on my notebook. please help me to turn it off..
You can turn it on/off via System Preferences, Universal Access (older OS) or Accessibility (newer OS).
There will be also a keyboard shortcut for on/off toggle. Mine is command-F5.

I am trying to turn off the Voice Over and can not scroll the IPAD to the accessibility tab
I am not sure how but the Voice Over on my IPAD came on. I have read that if I go to the settings, General, Acessibility I should be able to turn it off. I am unable to scroll the touch screen to the Acessibllity tab. thanks
Connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer.
Under the Summary tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, at the bottom select Configure Universal Access. Turn it off there and select OK. -

Can't shut off the voice!
OK, my son was playing internet games last night and he somehow created four problems that I can't fix.
1. He's activated the voiceover option. When I go to the System Prefs>speech it's listed as "speakable items off" But it's still speaking to me. (Thank heaven the mute is still working!)
2. I have hollow black frames around select back buttons, applications, etc.
3. In my dropdown Apple menu, I now have two "restart" options, two "shutdown" options, two "Logout" options.
4. My F Keys (for volume, brightness, etc.) are not working without applying the FN key simultaneously.
Can anyone help me?hi ramones_nyc,
the first three are all definitely related to VoiceOver. perhaps the 4th too, but i don't know - the timing certainly suggests it is too somehow...
if clicking it on/off in system preferences doesn't help, you could try rebuilding the preferences file.
go to [home] > Library > Preferences and drag com.apple.universalaccess.plist to the desktop. log out and then in again.
post back if that didn't help. if it did, go ahead and delete the plist you dragged to your desktop.

I am looking for direction on how to turn "OFF" find my phone. I do not have the phone or serial number.
Remove it from your account by signing in to icloud.com/find,
selecting the device, and clicking Erase. When the device has been
erased, click Remove from Account.
You do not need the serial number to do this, but you may
be able to find the serial number here:
iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number
Scroll down to the section on getting information from your computer. -

You need to use three fingers to scroll around the screen. Or you can turn it off by connecting to your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064

How do I turn off the Voice Over for my Mac?
When the clock struck midnight, September 18th, a VoiceOver utility box came and popped up in my face for my MacBook Pro and I would like to know how to turn it off besides just muting and hiding the text boxes because there are still little chimes that occur while typing and I want no sounds to come from this demonic application ever again!
My 2 y/o grandson came over and was banging away at the keyboard and started the hitherto unknown VoiceOver Utility. This worked. Thanks.

Every keystroke and mouse movement, I get an audio notice that I need to shut off. In Safari, the cursor cycles thru every link and metadata field and I get a verbal/audio notice of what it is. How do I shut this option off???
Press the key combination command-F5 to deactivate VoiceOver. If that doesn't work, proceed as follows.
For OS X 10.7: From the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Universal Access ▹ Seeing ▹ VoiceOver: Off
For OS X 10.8 or later: Select
▹ System Preferences ▹ Accessibility ▹ VoiceOver ▹ Enable VoiceOver: Off -
I need to know how to stop a notification that keeps coming up when playing a spades game, that keeps telling me to go to the game center. I even shut off the notifications in the settings, this is an anoying problem
I'm pretty sure this is an Apple thing and you can't do anything about it. To get rid of the notification just do as it asks then try to forget about it.
