I have a new iphone. My music synced from my computer to my iphone, but the majority of songs are grey on my phone and I can't play them. How do I fix this?

I assume you have verified that the volume is turned up while they are plugged in? Otherwise, it sounds like a hardware issue.

Iphone music sync problems

Hello,
I recently transfered music from my dell laptop (music uploaded from personal cd collection) to my new iphone 4s. The songs appear on the phone in light grey but will not play. I have authorized the laptop after the transfer per a suggestion from friend when I first encountered problem. Still no luck. Any ideas.

After updating my iPhone 5 to 7.0.3 a few weeks ago, this issue has been bugging me. Finally got it syncing on mine after all this time. Simply unchecking the Sync Music and applying and then checking it back on and reapplying did not work.
What I finally did:
1) Uncheck all the playlists that are checked AND uncheck the Sync Music and then click Apply.
2) Then recheck the Sync Music box AND recheck the desired playlists and then click Apply.
(You may have to unplug the sync cable and plug back in before step 2. I had to do it on occasion, but sometimes I didn't and it worked fine.)
The caveat is that apparently you may have to do this everytime you want to add a playlist or song. Also on occasion I found an issue where I click on a song but it would play another one and moving to another song would play the song I wanted to play previously. I did a reset and it played correctly after that.
It's an inconvenience for now until a certain company fixes the issue. Hope this helps.

HT204053 I created a different Apple ID for Icloud on my new IPhone and having problems with getting Itunes,etc. How do I change my Icloud Apple ID to be the same ID and password?

I created a different Apple ID for my Icloud on my new IPhone (said a free email was available or something similar) rather than the other choice offered of using my same existing Apple ID. Now I keep having issues accessing my account and my password isn't working to access Icloud to download Itunes. Can I undo this new account I created and just use my one existing Apple ID? This is my first IPhone and confused with this part of the setup! Thanks.

If you know the answers to your security questions, you should be able to change your password without using email authentication (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HE36). If you don't, you may be out of luck.

New iphone 5 sync problem with itunes

when I plug new iphone to mac, I am getting this message: The iPhone “iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. Have tried to download 10.7 with no success. Itunes has most current update as does iphone 5.

I downloaded it and when playing it the sound continues but the video freezes.

Many G4 800 users have been having trouble with video "freezes".
Try putting you iMac to "sleep" for a minute and view the file again.

New Macbook video import problem.

I have just gone and bought myself a new Macbook Pro and I am very pleased with it. From a video standpoint I plan to use it to import and edit HD video from my Canon HV20. The new Macbook only has a Firewire 800 port and so the cable that I would normally use to connect computer and camcorder will not work as it is 'mini' Firewire to Firewire 400. I am assuming that there is/will be a 'mini' to FW800 cable available, but in the interim I am using a Firewire hub that is connected to the Macbook by a 400-800 cable. And herein lies my problem ! Although iMovie8 detects my HV20, it will not display or play or import any footage from the tape ! It just remains on the blue import screen and although the camcorder is merrily 'playing', no footage is actually making it across to the computer. I think the issue is the Firewire hub part of the connection but I thought it best to garner an opinion from users of this forum. Help !!

Well, I can't find my Belkin FW800-to-4-pin (9-pin-to-4-pin) cable right now ..I'm doing some "tidying up" ..which is always hopeless for finding things afterwards!.. but I DID buy the other day - in the German Mac specialists, erm, can't remember the name - a Sonnet Fast-something (..which I've just put down, and now can't find..) teeny 9-pin-to-6-pin adapter (..so small that I can't find it!..) and I've just tested that with a Sony HC1 HDV camcorder.
Using the Sonnet adaptor..
..which is mentioned on their website at top-left here: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/adapters/index.html ..on a normal 6-pin-to-4-pin FireWire cable.. I just connected my camcorder and successfully imported HDV from the Sony.
I tested it twice with iMovie HD 6, in the most adverse conditions: 1; connecting to the 9-pin FW800 socket on a G4 17" laptop (..which is generally too slow to import HDV in real-time..) and 2; looped ("daisy-chained") through the 9-pin FW800 sockets (..one socket from the drive to my Mac, the other socket from the drive to the camcorder..) of an external iOmega FireWire drive connected to my Quad G5 Mac, also with iMovie HD 6. Both imports worked perfectly.
I'm also trying it as I write this - I just found the adapter again! - to import into iMovie '08 on the G5, daisy-chained through the external disc (..the G4 is too old or underpowered to run iMovie '08..) and that works as well ..though I did have to "kick" the program into starting a new Event; at first the camera transport ran, but no video imported, so I just Stopped and re-imported.
I bought this adaptor "on spec", as no previous device or adapter had worked properly for me (..converting between 4-pin on a camcorder and 9-pin on a Mac..) and this is the first to have worked, for me. But I have great faith in Sonnet, as they make the extra S-ATA driver card and other bits and bobs which I put in my floorstander G5, and that all "just works".
Ah; the shop where I bought it is ..hold on a moment.. the "m store" in Munich. (Karsten may know them: when Gravis moved from Lindwurmstrasse to Im Tal, the m store opened up right next door to where Gravis had been before) and they're at Lindwurmstrasse 5a, their phone number - they speak English, too - is 0049 89 24 22 35 24 and their website is ..aaaarggh; they don't seem to have one.
Anyway; the Sonnet SimplyFast FireWire 400-to-800 Adapter works perfectly - for me - on the end of a normal 4-pin-to-6-pin FireWire 400 cable, and importing works flawlessly every way I've tried it ..even daisy-chained through an external drive.
I can heartily recommend it.
But - as always - "your mileage may vary" ..meaning that it might not work so smoothly for you.

New iPhone 4S user: Problems syncing iTunes playlists

I have had my 4S for only 3 days. At setup, I indicated that I only wanted several specific playlists to sync to the iPhone, along with a couple of specific artists. This initially worked fine. Now, in playing around with the iPhone & the iTunes interface the past couple of days, I somehow have managed to remove the sync playist option from iTunes, & the playlists are not showing on the iPhone. I feel certain the content of the specific playlists involved is on the iPhone because the GBs for space used for music is correct. When the iPhone is docked, the only options I, now, have on the interface under music are the following:
iTunes Match is on
sync voice memos is checked
the window that says "from Playlists" is "greyed out" or in dim video, & I can't click on anything.
Under the summary page, is the following:
Open iTunes when phone is connected
Sync with this iPhone over WiFi
Sync only checked songs & videos
These 3 are the only items checked.
Looking at the iPhone:
Playlists are empty
Artists, songs & albums fields are all populated which I assume is what the iPhone is detecting in the cloud.
I have been out of the loop for quite awhile in troubleshooting iTunes issues especially for iOS devices, so any help is appreciated.

I am new to the iphone and have only had mine about a week. All app screens appear to be in reverse colors; sort of like a picture negative. I can't find any place in settings to make the screens look normal. Has anyone else had this problem and what was your solution? Thanks

You should ahve been syncing the contacts with your computer all along. Just sync them to the new one.
Everything should be on your computer as you should have been syncing.
If you failed to sync everything with your computer, then you can try restoring from the last backup.

My son just got an IPhone 4s Friday. He conected it to Itunes though my computer. Today he found that it had imported all my favorites and bookmarks from my computer! How does he get that out of his phone? Thank you in advance for your help.

I can help with your son's iPhone 4S. Your information is on his phone since the iTunes account is in your name. He would have to follow these steps:
-Sign out of your Apple ID http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1640
-Create his own Apple ID http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731
-Back up his phone data to the PC, so he does not lose anything.
-Restore the iPhone http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 This will remove your information from the phone.
-Sign in to his own iTunes account
-Sync the iPhone with his iTunes account

Music Import Problems

Well, I've just begun to add music to my movie - when I've found that importing music from itunes doesn't work! I'll import, drag the file down to the timeline, render, then there's no audio whatsoever! I'll double click on the file, in FCE, and see that there's nothing within it. Anyone have any ideas on how to get music into FCE?

FCE works best with AIFF audio @48kHz and you can convert many formats to AIFF in iTunes. However, DRM prevents use of most music purchased in the iTunes store in Pro Applications like FCE.

CVS new files checked - import problem

in 9i the tool used to prompt me like
'do you want to open new files in active project?'
in 10i it doesn't , so when I create and deploy wars the new files sometimes are missing.
do you know any workaround?

Iphone music player problem

if use music for a while and pause it for few min and play again, it will play for a sec and go to pause automatically . and it does for 2 times and from third time it
plays but get struck for few seconds and then it will play norma.
its not the first time it happens almost every time i pause it..

Have you tried it and it doesnt work? Looks like it works for most iPods but I have had experience where that doesnt mean all. If you have tried it and it doesnt work the only other option i can see is an aux cable from the headphones to the audio in port on the back.
