HT2954 i cant see new mailboxes I have set up to organize email topics. Why don't they show anywhere. I can move a message to them but I can't see them or read what I have put in them
I have 4 emails set up in mac mail and I wanted to organize emails by topic ie folders. I have added new mailboxes but they don't show on screen. I can move or copy to the new mailboxes but I can't see them or access them to read what I have move there. Please help!

Because you didn't previously set up a rescue email address, which isn't the same as an alternate email. When I read my emails on my Mac why don't they show as "read" on my iPhone?

I have to read emails twice because they dont update as "read" on my iPhone after I've already read them on my Mac.
Anyone know why?

WayneJust to be sure we're on the same page... the email account you're using, it's not a .me or .mac account, right? It's some other service, like google mail or yahoo? If it is an iCloud account (.me or .mac), then the "read" flag should be updated automatically on all devices using that account.
And if it is some other POP account, then you can't do anything about the "read" flag. -
When I drag photos from my desktop to the new Photos icon, they don't replace the previously imported photos in "Last Import".
After several attempts, I now find that this is working for me. I wasn't able to open the IMPORT folder in Photos until I clicked on "Close" from File Menu. Once I was able to open the IMPORT folder and select the photos for import, the new photos appeared in "Last Import."

I have broadband and it just cost me $75 OVER my monthly bill to download Yosemite and the update for iphotos. NOW, I have notice that it needs two more updates. Why don't they tell us how much data will be used with an update so we can plan when and which updates to do now, and some later? The old system they had, they did tell and I was able to ration out which ones to update over the months.
It all depends on how much you'll use the iPhone for internet access. Personally, I use it frequently (work email, browsing with Safari, the Amazon.com app, etc.,) and I use 200-300 MB per month. My wife does not use her iPhone for much outside of email, weather, etc., occasional Internet browsing, and she uses 40-50 MB per month. So, you should be fine with 150 MB.

The same reason why you can't use it under iOS5. It's exclusive to devices since the iPhone 4S.

the reason is that people are using more and more memory so because the pictures are higher in resolution they use more memory with the retina display so they need the extra memory to store more photos/applications/movies and of course videos that you record.

I recently bought a new macbook pro and set it up using the migration assistant from my mac mini. I can't get the text message forwarding feature to work with both computers. It keeps saying that I only have 2 devices setup, my iPad and my macbook pro. When I mess with the setting on my mac mini, it goes from saying that that is one of the devices to my macbook pro being the 2nd device. I think that something happened as a result of my using the migration assistant and now it thinks that my macbook pro and my mac mini are one and the same computer. Any ideas?

The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.) -

If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. Final Cut Pro will not update after new os and compressor will not run until the update is done. System shows no updates available
Sorry for being unclear.
When I am using the update in the App Store App, there will be a list of various applications that have updates to be installed (Final Cut Pro will be in this list). I will already be logged in with the Apple ID I use for everything (my dev account). I will be able to update all of the other various applications needing updating except for my Final Cut Pro. When I click the update button next to the FCP update, it will give me an error saying "This download is not available for this apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled"
I have not had any applications refunded or cancelled and this has only happened since my update to Yosemite. FCP was working fine until the upgrade. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? -
I've a new account on iMac. When composing an email the contact list does not show up on the bar, which would allow me to select the persons I want to include on the distribution of the email. When I start keying in a name in the email, it comes up with the person's address, which shows it is synced. How do I engage the contact list from the email like I do on my old account (where a contact list icon shows up, along with the "attach" and other icons) ?
With the New Message window open, go to the View menu and select "Customize Toolbar...".
In the screen that opens, drag the item labelled "Address" into the Toolbar area of the New Message window, then click the "Done" button.
That item should be then added to the Toolbar for the New Message window.
Note that the main Mail window and the New Message window (as well as the separate message window if you open a message that way) use different toolbars - the settings/inclusions for one do not carry over to another. -
what does it mean when you're about to install itunes and it says This update requires OS X version 10.6.8 or later.??? i don't understand... Can someone please explain to me what that means...??? And how to fix it.
1. It means exactly what it says. Apple dropped support for earlier Mac OS X versions in iTunes 10.7.
2. Update the computer to 10.6.8. If it's running a Mac OS X version prior to 10.6, this requires buying a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM.

Since up grading to the new OS Lion basicly problem free except my iPhone iPod and iPad all give me sync issues they load apps , music , books , movies , but refuse photos and the sync ends with an error 50 message most times , yes I have re booted reinstalled new i Tunes and all my others help ! I have update every thing I can re installed , no other issues apart from Parallels and windows which I have deleted and will reisnstall and up date when I get my discs back moving house so in storage boxes somewhere ? , but who needs Windows ? is any one else suffering , or have any solutions

Currently my desktop is not connecting at all, Everytime I connect, it's states "We have now logged you out" and requests I login again.
I have of course rebooted,
Gone into taskmanager, killed all the relevant threads, tried again to login through the desktop, no luck, I'll have to uninstall it, make sure the threads are killed, then reboot it and then reinstall it, but I've not had the time to do that.
On another note, and just as a point of reference, myself, personally, I hate these "cloud" file repositories (not to be confused with adobe cloud services which I love) but the file repositories themselves imho, are a blackhole of resource usage when one doesn't/isn't using them,
Is there a way we can use it more of a "ftp" sort of thing, when I want to I can put files there? There is no way to "Download" the repository, no way to download the folders.. only individual files and then it takes I think three different steps before the download starts.. I find this very inhibiting. Just an fyi. for what it's worth.
