HT2954 My Mail is stuck Updating my Mail Database, and I can't get past that to even use Mail at all now. What the f%^&%$?

I downloaded Mountain Lion, and when I opened Mail for the first time, it went to the "Upgrade [my] Mail database"...this may take a few minutes dealie, and it is stuck and now I can't get past that. Has anyone had this issue? If so, how to get past it?

Anyone out there have this issue, I'd really love some help/guidance.
Everytime I restart, force quit mail, restart in safe mode, and regular mode, when I reopen the Mail application, it goes right to the Upgrade Mail database screen and goes right back to the same spot it has been since I downloaded Mountain Lion and initislly opened the Mail app. It only goes to the Upgrade option, or can quit and Upgrade later. It is stuck in the middle of the Upgrade of my mail database...this blows!!!

Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Are they backed up to your computer? If so you can go to the "Apps" tab in the main window of your iPad and resync them there.
OR
On you iPad go to App Store > Updates and the first tab should be something called "Purchased" (if you have already entered you Apple ID) and you can re-download from there.

I updated firefox last night and I can't get t to open. HELP!!! All my saved searches for study are on there so I don't want to download a whole new version. Any ideas on what I can do to sort this out?

Firefox has been asking me to update, and it changed its look so I thought I had updated by accident, but it hadn't so I clicked the update now button and eventually closed computer. Today it won't open from the shortcut or through the main menu. I am now using google chrome to send this but I really need all my bookmarks, and passwords on my existing but not working version of firefox. Can you help please?

Do you have Internet Security Software turned on in your Internet Explorer?
I turned mine off, as I have Norton AV. Go into Internet Explorer and check to see if you have that on and try turning that off...and then try to get back onto FF. You may have to restart your computer, I'm not sure, as I'm not a techie. I just know that the Internet Security Software clashed with my Norton AV.

You can check the browser.link.open_newwindow prefs on the about:config page.

Stuck opening a project. Get the spinning ball and can never get past that

Your user account (something in it) is apparently corrupted and it can be quite a slog to track down whatever it is. A few suggestions.
If you back up, using a utility like Time Machine, restore your user account from an earlier backup version.
This has a few more moving parts, but here are instructions on how to re-build a user account.
Disk Warrior rebuilds hard drive directories and may be useful in dealing with your issue. (I have used DW but not for corrupted user accounts.) A bit of a long shot, but it's a tool worth having in any case.
You could also create administrative rights for a new account and simply not use the old one.

Updated to FCPX 10.2, can't get past splash screen

So, I got through a batch of projects, and finally upgraded to FCP 10.2
After installation, I can't get past the splash screen. I'm asked, via a dialogue box, if I wish to update my libraries / events. I do.
Then... I see rapid fire text loading and then updating libraries / events. Then it gets stuck on a particular event... beach ball... nothing.
I've tried several times, and it gets stuck on a random event.
I can't get past the splash screen. I've rebooted. Still nothing.

Generally, if FCP opens under one account but not another, the issue is a corrupt preference in the non-functioning users account.
While in your user account, download and intall FCP Rescue (google it to find it), open it up (with FCP not running) and TRASH your preferences.
Try FCP again.

Im having the same problem, I updated my Iphone 4S to 6.1.3, shortly after that my phone had no audio. It was working fine one minute and then stopped. Was listening to music when sound gave out on me. It wont ring, phone just vibrates even after turning off vibration option. I've tried all the options listed and nothing. My phone has never been jailbroken either. If I connect the earphones is works perfectly. On one of my last calls received, phone's ringtone was heard for about 2 seconds before muting and just vibrating. Ringtone sounded perfect, speakers did not sound damaged.
What else could be done? I've read several post regarding this and it seems like Apple has no solution to this yet. Very dissappointed.

Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete.

Have you turned the phone off? If so, and it hasn't fixed the issue, try a reset:
Press and hold the Sleep/On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds. Ignore the slide to turn off indicator, and wait for the Apple logo to reappear. Release buttons. No content will he changed with this process.
