HT3042 how to watch dvd movie with bluetooth

I want to watch a DVD movie on my macbook air using the dvd drive on another macbook pro.   How do I do this?

You can't do it over Bluetooth - it isn't fast enough at all. Plus if you were close enough to have Bluetooth access then you might as well just watch it on the MacBook Pro.
How to share a drive is described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5287 but it doesn't work with DVD movies because they are protected.
So you can't do what you want to do.

  • I think I overused my DVD player watching DVD movies with G5 with tv mirror

I am a switcher. I bought a G5 which has been connected to my tv with a dvi/S connector and a twenty foot cable. I watch a lot of DVD rom training on my TV and then started using my computer to watch DVD movies routinely on tv.. The CD/DVD always makes noises like spinning, but lately has stopped recognizing the DVDs I put in. And once I inadvertenttly inserted a CD on top of a DVD and It ground about making terrible noises before i could get it ejected.
Now can't burn jpgs onto a
DVD and give them to pc friends and family. I don't know if i wrecked the hardware. But any advice on replacing or determining problem would be welcome. I have heard it is better to buy memory, add ons from online stores for better price than Apple store. What should I do? Can I take my G5 in for service in San Diego somewhere without paying more than a good online price for a new DVD/CD burner. And since my G5 is over 6 years old. Which can I upgrade to. I want to be able to burn pics for backup and gifts playable on tvs sold to play jpg. Maybe i did something wrong in burning. I think I was using Lightroom and it chose the burn folder. I am used to using Toast 6. choosing pc/mac compatible during setup. I have a jpg dvd player and it won't read the disc either. Does Tiger's BurnFolder only work on Mac computers after burning CD or DVD. Reason i choose DVD was I had a large media of SLR and they wouldn't all fit on a CD/

    Two options:
Buy a new Pioneer 111 or 112 drive for about $40-50 and change it in about 5 minutes.
Or if you think a new computer is in the offing or you would rather have a DVD drive on the desktop where it is handy, get a LaCie D2 external FW drive and use that. They even provide a full non demo version of Toast with a new D2.
Or if you are indecisive do what I did and get both.

  • How to play DVD movie and video on Blackberry

This guide is mainly about how to rip DVD and convert video to BlackBerry Storm. First, you should know what video format is BlackBerry Storm supports.
Because DVD has CSS copyright protection, we need a program to rip DVD and convert video for BlackBerry Storm. The tool we use is BlackBerry Converter Suite, it includes two programs: DVD to BlackBerry Storm Converter and BlackBerry Storm Video Converter. This program not only supports BlackBerry Storm, but also BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Pearl and BlackBerry Bold series.
It supports audio and video format as follow:
Video: DVD, ISO, AVI, MPEG, MKV, MP4, MP4-AVC, M4V, WMV, MOV, 3GP, 3G2, MPG, FLV, ASF, VOB
    Audio: WMA, M4A, MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA
For more info about this BlackBerry Converter Suite, you can refer to here.
And here is the free download link, about 12.4 MB.
Now, let’s start the guide about converting DVD and Video to BlackBerry Storm.
Step1, Download and install the BlackBerry Storm converter, and then run it.
Step2. Load DVD into the software by clicking “Add DVD file”.
Here we can load three kinds of DVD's:
    1. Real DVD, just put the DVD in your DVD drive and click load DVD, (you can find it by clicking the triangle on the right of 'load file' button.)
    2. DVD ISO image, you can amount your ISO files in the daemon tools and then load the virtual DVD drive.
    3. A DVD folder, sometimes you may store the DVD folder in your hard drive, it appears like "Video_TS" "Audio_TS" folders. You can load it by clicking the "load DVD folders" button.
Step3. Select Profile, Subtitle, Audio, output directory setting
After you load DVD into the software, click the Profile drop-down list to select the proper format according to your BlackBerry Type, this guide is mainly about how to convert DVD and video to BlackBerry Storm, so we select the “BlackBerry Storm series(*.mp4)” profile.
Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. You can select one you prefer. You can also delete the subtitle by selecting “No Subtitle”. Selecting Audio is the same. If you want to join all your DVD files into one video file, please select the option named “Merge into one file”. For more advanced setting, you can open the setting panel by clicking “Setting”.
    Step4. Start the conversion
After all things done, you can click the “Start” to begin the conversion; it will take about 30 minutes for converting a regular two hours DVD movie. When the conversion finished, click “find target” to located the converted video on your computer, connect your BlackBerry Storm to computer, and then copy the video to your BlackBerry memory card, that’s all. Then you can enjoy your favorites DVD movies on your BlackBerry Storm.
For converting video to BlackBerry Storm, you can click “Video to BlackBerry” to run the BlackBerry Movie Converter, the operation steps are similar to DVD to BlackBerry Converter, So I’m not repeat here. But I want to add some tips to the BlackBerry Movie Converter.
    1. The Video to BlackBerry Converter supports batch conversion, so you can add multiple video files at one time.
    2. The Video to BlackBerry Converter embeds powerful video editing functions, you can use it to cut video, trim video, crop video, and you can even add a watermark to the video.
    3. The Video to BlackBerry Converter can also help you convert video file to MP3, WMA, AAC, etc audio, so you can set it as your BlackBerry ringtone.

STOP.....WHAT DOES "HOW TO CONVERT DVD MOVIE AND SET THEM ON THE IPOD" HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS DISCUSSION FORUM?
    This is very simple:
THe 5G IPOD is designed to seamsleslly play video acquired from the ITUNES music store. What does that mean? It means that if you get the video from the Itunes music store it should work, and if it does not work, you then post the relevant question in the ITUNES discussion forum.
If you want to rip DVD's, by all means, search in websites like www.videohelp.com, or search in google. If you do not find the answer there, then search here.
This particular question has been ASKED countless times and the last time I checked the forum was called Using Your 5th Generation IPOD", not "How do I get XYZ type video to play on the IPOD" nor "How do I use ABC program to rip, convert, a DVD"?
Have you checked first the video specs of the video ipod? What formats, codecs, etc? before posting your question here?
Don't get me wrong, we are here to help, but it is a little bit irritating to see newcomers post questions without having searched for the answers first, specially on a topic that has been addressed so many times as this one

  • Best way to watch a movie with stereo headpho

What is the best experience I can get from watching a movie using standard stereo headphones. I realize I need to test with my ears but I ask because I might need to buy cables. I have the X-fi Platinum with the console. I use a standalone dvd player to watch on my tv. The sound is currently sent to my stereo where I use headphones and was thinking of sending the sound to my X-fi and using the headphones there. Should I use a digital connection for 5. from the dvd player to the X-fi?. Will cmss utilize true 5. signals or will the signal just be wasted. Does cmss only upmix stereo signals?Basically, can I get a decent surround experience while watching a movie with a surround soundtrack on stereo headphones and what is the best way to set that up. My cheap Coby?standalone ?player decodes Dolby and DTS if that matters?Thank youTrenzMessage Edited by trenz on 0-4-20070:53 PM

    Hi
both ways would work, and I'm not sure which one to recomend.
Importing image by image wouldn't be so hard, and could give
you the advantage of being able to even ad interactivity like
moving layers or fading them and and and...
Making a flv and a slider is maybe a bit easier (btw i made a
sample some days ago I could provide you with if needs be), but not
    as flexible.
Filesize will be an issue, and I guess the flv is bettr in
that respect, but compression might damage the quality, wich might
    also be of importance.
Importing all as pngs with trancparencie might lead to other
issues, as discuessed here in a recent thread about pngs (the
number of png that can be stacked one over an other is limeted but
it seems the information about numbers is inconasistent, one of the
programmers of flashplayer talked about 24...)so there might be an
    issue there.
But I think ist's a great idea, and it is doable in either
way, maybe it's wise to make sone test with - say 10 layers and
decide then which way to go for the rest.

  • I have 3  h.264 files which i want to create a dvd movie with?

    hi guys
    i hope you can help.
i have 3 seperate h.264 files (video has been graded and colour corrected) which i want to put on a dvd as one seamless movie.
my friend did the exporting and had to do it in smaller chunks because it kept crashing his computer., the format he used was h.264, now its very important that i can create a dvd movie with these files to be viewed on a standalone dvd player..
how would do i this? most efficient method and preserve  good quality?

One thing to be aware of is when you burn a disk image in Encore, you'll end up with a .iso disk image file.  In the past I made the mistake of dragging the .iso file into the  dvd-r folder and burning it from finder.   This made it so it burned as a data DVD that didn't play on my DVD player.  In order to make playable copies of the DVD using the disc image you have to use the apple Disk Utility application located in utilities to burn a playable DVD.  Do this...
Open Disk Utility located in / Applications / Utilities /  Disk Utility.
Click Burn in  the tool bar at the top of the window and select your Adobe Encore disc image (.iso).
          3.  Select the Appropriate DVD burning drive and insert your blank disc. Make sure your disc is free of dust and fingerprints before burning to reduce the probability of failure.
         4. Click Burn to create your DVD disc.
         5. Remember to test your disc in several DVD players if possible before burning additional copies.

  • How do I import movies with an AVI format taken with a digital SLR?

How do I import movies with an AVI format taken with a digital SLR?

If you cannot import using File Menu > Import Movies... You'll have to convert them on a Mac.
You will need to use a free app called MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5.
Basically, you drag the .mts file into MPEG Streamclip. Then use FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME and choose Apple Intermediate Codec as your codec. And it will save out to a .mov file and iMovie will edit this format like there was no tomorrow

USB-2 is perfectly adequate for the data rates involved. But I recommend you avoid Bus-powered-only solutions unless you only need them a few minutes a month. This vendor's page will give you ideas about other solutions:

I checked and found that the router did not have the latest firmware.   It does now.   The issue is still there.   I did a little research and found that the model number of my Apple TV (MC572LL/A) shows that it is a 2G version which uses the A4 chip.   The latest version uses the A5 chip and is 1080 capable.  Both are supposed to be capable of using type "N" routers.   I don't think that should be an issue but I wonder if later updates may have introduced some issues in the 2G version.
I am going to try changing the "N" channel also- just to see if that makes any difference.  The istumbler app does not show any "N" networks in my area so it is defaulting to 149.   I will note that even 1 foot away from the router I only get 75-85% for signal.   I would expect it to be 100% since it is so close.   I am also seeing noise go up from typically 13% to 21% when it is on channel 3 and that close.       I will play change locations and channels and see if there is any improvement.

  • How do I turn off computer monitor when watching DVD movie on TV monitor?

I think this is really a Leopard question because it involves setting up 2 monitors in System Preferences within OSX. 1) I have a wide screen TV connected to my iMac (Intel White Late 2006) through the Mini-DVI port and a separate audio cable. This connection works fine. 2) The purpose of the TV screen is only to watch DVDs using the DVD player and iDVD in my iMac. 3) In System Preferences->Displays->Arrangement, both my computer monitor and the TV screen appear as separate monitors. I have the setting to mirror each other. With this setting, the DVD movie plays on both the iMac computer screen and on the TV screen. 4) FINALLY, MY QUESTION: When watching a DVD on the TV screen, I would like to turn off the monitor in my iMac so that the screen is dark (in sleep mode to save power, etc.); I want only the TV screen to display the movie. How do I turn off only the iMac screen? Thank you. Dale

That's impossible. It can only be done on a laptop but not on an iMac.

  • How to get dvd movies onto ipod with windows

Okay, I have finally figured out how to get movies from DVD to ipod for windows users, and it's free, with no watermarks. It involves a 2-program process. First go and download Videora Ipod Converter at http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/
Then download DVDFab Decrypter at http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
Now after you have installed these onto your computer:
    1. Insert the DVD into your disc drive.
    2. Open DVDFab and open the DVD folder, video_ts or whatever it happens to be
    3. Select your target destination for the files to be saved
    4. Click start to begin copying the DVD.
    5. Once everything is done being saved open videora ipod converter
    6. Go to setup and select the one click profile which size of video you would like and the output of the files
    7. Go to convert and select new transcode video, find your video file and select open
    8. Wait for the file to be completed transcoding
    9. Open itunes and select file, add file to library, find the file(s) and select okay
    10. Most of you should know what to do form here

For anyone who wants to get up and running, these are the settings I use for Videora.
After days of experimenting, I settled on the settings below which seem to give a good balance between filesize and quality. There will be a bit of blockiness in the dark shadows but if it's too much, just increase the 'bitrate'. Experiment with a short video, but make sure the video you experiment with is very high quality or you won't know what is or isn't down to your settings.
Again, don't use h264. Only Quicktime Pro has h264 nailed. You may be able to get some things to work in h264 but more likely, you'll be watching a movie and it will suddenly stop, or your iPod's hard disk will start munching away to a black screen. mpeg-4 works fine in Videora, always. No problems.
    Video
    Mode: MPEG-4 > CBR
    Resolution: 320 x 240
Passes: One (two makes almost no difference except doubling the time)
    Bitrate: 384kbps
    Framerate: Input
    Audio
    Bitrate: 96kbps
    Channels: Stereo
    Sample Rate: Input
    Volume: 100%

  • Problem trying to watch iTunes movie with powerbook g4

My 867 g4 is doing the equivalent of a stutter when I try to watch the godfather (downloaded from iTunes) on it. The picture and sound keep momentarily stopping and starting again. I've got the original hard drive and 384 gb of ram.
Do I need to upgrade the computer?

Hi, Erik. I don't watch movies on my Powerbook or download them from the iTunes Store, so I'm certainly no expert on the possible causes of your problem. But here are some thoughts for whatever they may be worth:
You have pretty minimal RAM installed to support any demanding use of the Powerbook in Tiger, so adding RAM is my first thought.
Because watching a movie is a pretty demanding use, you may want to make sure no other applications or processes are running on the computer while you're doing it. In addition to quitting all other applications, try turning off BlueTooth and Airport (if you have them) and disconnecting any USB peripheral devices, some of which may occasionally exchange packets of information with the Mac even when they're not in use. Post back and let us know whether these steps make any difference.
I presume you've downloaded the movie to your internal hard drive and are playing it from there rather than from any other drive - is that correct?
