Whenever you transfer something from one drive or volume to another, it is copied and the original remains where it was no matter the method you use. It is so by design: just in case you were to delete it on the one drive, you still have it on the other. However, if you no longer want the original, simply delete it and empty the trash.

FCP Kona Card does not get input from FCP??

Kona card LHE. Had it working just fine but I did something goofy and the Kona control panel does not get an input from FCP. Open to any and all suggestions.

Figure out what you did goofy and then do the opposite.
Seriously, what have you done to troubleshoot this? There's any number of goofy things that you could do that may result in this issue. I'd start with reading the Kona manual and the rather extensive part in FCP about external monitoring.

L2L issue, the tunnel does not getting up from one direction

We have configure a L2L vpn between Asa and 1841 router. We are facing this issue.
The tunnel is not getting up from the 1841 site never. When we are trying to generate traffic from the ASA site the tunnel is up and we can see decryps and encryps packets.

thank you for this info. Now from the router site the tunneling is getting up and I can see packets but althought the tunnel is up it can not make telnet to our server (172.40.10.100) on a specific port.
We from ASA site can ping router Site and make telnet.
Any ideas???

How do I get audio from my macbook pro to my receiver with higher quality than the headphone jack?

I recently got a receiver and surround sound speaker system. The quality of the audio from the CD player connected to it is far beyond the quality of the audio that comes from the MacBook pro via headphone jack to RCA connection. This was confirmed by burning a CD from the MacBook, placing it in the CD player then testing the two against each other - the same audio piece from the CD player or the MacBook, both connected to the same receiver/speaker set up. What other options might get better audio quality from the MacBook to the receiver?

The Mac's audio output doubles as a optical Toslink stereo mini jack, just use a adapter to regular Toslink and plug the optical cable to your surround sound system. Fiddle with the sound settings to enable optical output.
Mac's pass surround sound through, they don't do any processing.

Role Assignment does not get distributed from CUA

Hi all.
I create user and role in CUA client.
There is no error in role generation.
When I try to find my role in SU01 by pressing F4 of my role (Y*), system give me message role not found. But that's not my biggest problem.
I can assign my role by typing manually.
My biggest problem is only SAP ID get distributed into target system, not the role assignment.
So in the target system I can see my user id without role assign to it.
I checked my user id from SCUL. User and profile does not contain any error message in target client.
I tried with transaction RSCCUSND, still my user id does not contain role.
I checked my SCUM transaction, profiles and roles has Global settings.
Does someone can give me a clue why this happens and how to solve this issue.

Lets try to simplify the thing in layman language.
CUA is to manage user ids of different SAP systems (client level) centrally from one system without logging into each of those child systems. To do so, the Central system stores the information of the Roles (and their Text and Generated Profile Name ONLY) and Profiles (standard or non-generated profiles) in few of it's tables like: USLA04, USRSYSACT, USRSYSACTT, USRSYSPRF, USRSYSPRFT etc.
It doesn't mean that the Roles for the corresponding child system is present in the central system and no need of creating (or making available) such roles in the Child systems. The physical existence of the Role for each system doesn't get transferred in the Central system when you do the Text comparison rather the identity only against the corresponding system.
So the Roles has to be there in the corresponding Child systems and the Assignment (not physical assignment - only linking the name for that child system) of them to the user ids can be done from Central system.
Also you have got the idea of Text comparison and requirement of keeping or creating roles in each system based on it's nature from the other posts.

Db tools open connection.vi does not get password from dsn file

The database is a Microsoft SQL server database. Again, my IT group does not want the password hard coded into the application. Their preference would be for the password to be extracted from the dsn. I have tried both a file dsn and a system dsn which were created in the data sources app in control panel --> administartive tools. Neither dsn works (unless I wire the password to the databse tools open connection vi). Both dsn's work fine from the windows data sources application. I have not been able to figure out how to attach graphics to a post on the board here, so I 'm not sure how to attach the error message (or my block diagram). The text from the error message is below. Wiring in the password causes the error to go away.

Yes. I had troubles getting it to work originally and I had to talk to someone at HP who helped me with it. We ended up setting it up manually and it worked fine; but if I don't use it for awhile it will not print. Actually that is not entirely true. Once in awhile it will - about 10% - but most of the time it will not unless I do the above.

I am having a similar problem. I have 19 iBooks in a classroom and, suddenly, none of them can see the AirPort Express network when they log on. Instead, the iBooks try to connect to a Windows-based school network. I have designated the AEBS network as the only preferred network but the iBooks NEVER try to connect to it first. However, if you click on the AirPort icon in the menu bar, the AEBS network is clearly visible and clicking on it immediately connects you to the AEBS network.
When I originally set up the network in January, everything worked just fine. After the upgrade to AE Firmware 5.7 and various OS X 10.4.5 updates, everything has gone downhill. I had the dropped signal problem that so many have reported. I downgraded to AE Firmware 5.5.1 and followed J. Exby's procedure to upgrade the AEBS framework. That solved the dropped signal problem. But now my iBooks cannot find the AEBS network when they log in.
I have set the AirPort Network Preferences to connect Automatically or to Preferred Networks with the same result. I have also set the option to "Keep looking for recent networks" and it never finds our AEBS network. Yet, the network can be accessed manually through the AirPort icon.
BTW, I use one of the iBooks myself and it works perfectly and finds my preferred network in 2 other locations with non-AEBS networks. But it cannot see its own preferred network in school.
This is really bugging my students--and me! Any suggestions? THANKS!

Facetime Does Not Connect - Incoming/Outgoing - With MacBook Pro

Hi All,
I am having a problem trying to get Facetime to work on my MacBook Pro (Mac OS X 10.7.5, Facetime ver 1.1.1).
Basically, I can initialise FT/"see myself", I can make a call, the call will pop-up on the host device and when "accept" is clicked the call will stall with a "connecting" pop-up where the call never actually connects. The same thing happens from the 2nd device making a call to the MacBook, albeit when it finally stalls the error message reads "user XXX is unable to make Facetime calls" OR "connction was lost".
I have gone through all the forums, read all the official Apple Discussion Troubleshooting pages and have tried everything ... clock updates, manual DNS addresses, firewall rules etc. but nothing works.
Most interestingly though, I know that it is a problem with the MacBook Pro itself - and not with wifi signal or Apple ID etc. - because I can make and receive calls on the alternate device (iPad) on the same connection ... without problem.
Can someone please help? Note: Please do not post a standard "troubleshooting" page from Apple Support in your reply ... these steps have been followed and I know that it is something else about the MacBook which is the actual problem.

It is because of lack of drivers. The Boot Camp drivers supplied by Apple are no better than generic drivers.
Find the make of your computer's graphics card and download drivers for Windows XP. Install them, reboot and the option for dual monitors should be available.

Windows 7 desktop does not fill entire screen on macbook pro 17" (mid 2010)

First of all I apologize for posting such a long question but in order to best describe the problem I am having with my MacBook Pro, I had to mention every detail.
I recently installed windows 7 x64 home premium on my new macbook pro 17 inch (mid 2010). After successfully installing the bootcamp drivers (version 3.1) I have noticed that my screen resolution has become slightly smaller than before. There are half an inch thick black bars on the right side as well as on the top of the screen.
This problem is not limited to windows, I'm having the same problem in mac osx after the windows 7 installation. Even on the start up gray screen.
I have tried almost every trick in the book, adjusting the screen resolution from the display settings menu (which by the way are on 1920x1080), checking all the settings on the nvidia control panel, resetting the SMC, resetting the VRAM, running the hardware diagnostic test (short as well as the long one), formatting the windows partition, formatting the Mac OSX partition then performing a fresh install of both. So far, I have been frustrated with failure.
After trying my best to resolve this issue on my own, I tried my luck with apple support. The customer representative was very helpful and listened carefully as I explained the problem to him. He asked me first to check for any available updates on my mac osx as well as in win 7. I told him that I had already installed every available update in both the OS's. He then asked me to reset the SMC and after that to reset the VRAM. Even though I had already tried this, I still gave it another shot but that didn't help.
Since my MBP was still under the standard warranty, (I have also purchased the Apple Care Protection Plan) he asked me to take it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider. I took his advice and went to the nearest AASP. The Apple Engineer over there performed the same steps, adjusting screen resolution, resetting SMC and VRAM, but even he was not able to resolve this problem. He suggested that I should get my graphics cars replaced or if required upon inspection, the logic board replaced. To be very honest, I was very skeptical about his suggestion as the laptop is brand new, hardly 2 months old. How is it possible that there could be a problem with the hardware? I asked him whether it is possible to restore the firmware of the graphics card as the problem could be software related. He said that Apple have not started issuing firmware restoration CD's for the latest mid 2010 MBP's so a firmware restore won't be possible. My best bet would be to get the graphics card replaced or the whole logic board replaced.
So you see, I have been down almost every possible road which could have lead to resolving this issue but unfortunately I am stuck with it. I hope any of you could offer a different approach in order to get rid of this annoying problem.
Any help would be highly appreciated. (Trust ME!!!)

UPDATE: I just came back after a visit to the apple service provider here in New Delhi. They have replaced the logic board on my macbook pro and guess what? the situation is still the same. No difference what so ever as far as the screen resolution is concerned. I can still see those black bars in the exact same places i.e. the right hand side as well as on the top of the screen. Even the size of the black bars are still the same.
I am so upset right now. After trying my best in order to solve this problem I went to the AASP with high hopes. I was very confident that after replacing the logic board this annoying problem would go away but unfortunately that's not the case. Even the Apple Engineer was clueless on how to solve this problem.
I think I'll call apple care and speak to the customer relations regarding a replacement.
If any of you can come up with a solution to this problem please let me know.

I cannot get a signal from my MacBook Pro to a Samsung T220HD using an HDMI cable

I was in the Apple store to see how to improve the resolution on my Samsung T220HD, which I had connected to my MacBook Pro using the PC cable and an Mini DisplayPort adaptor. The staff recommended I buy a Kanex Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cable instead. I've plugged the new cable in, and the Samsung display reads "Check signal cable".
I don't have another cable to test it; am I doing something wrong?

Mini Dis[playPort cables have a lot of contacts, and require a lot of force to seat properly. Push until all the metal part of the plug disappears into the jack.
