HT3180 I just upgraded a new version of Apple tv yesterday, Nov. 17, 2013, and now I can't go back to just watching my regular cable tv. It was fine before yesterday. What do I do??
Apple TV was working fine and I could easily switch back and forth to watch my regular cable tv. Yesterday a box appeared on the screen asking me to upgrade Apple TV. Since I did that I cannot switch out of 'HDMI' back to 'TV' and watch cable tv. It says 'Channel not available (no signal).
What happened and how do I fix it?
Thanks again for your help. I ended up calling my local cable provider who simply told me to make sure the channel was on 03. Then I could once again switch back and forth from Apple TV to the cable channels.
I never had to use channel 03 before when I changed the source and since then I haven't needed to make sure it was on channel 03. It works just like before from any station.
Maybe it was just for the first time after I had upgraded. Who knows?? It's fine now.Thanks again for your input.

Did you do the moving of the image file in the Finder or do you have a reference library as asked by Larry? In either case moving the files is a recipe for disaster as you've found out. You must either move the files back to their original locations or try to get those photos back into iPhoto as follows:
1 - Find the folder you moved the files into and COPY it to the Desktop.
2 - in iPhoto delete the photos that you're having the problems with as you normally would even though you can't see see them. Also delete all the photos that are in the folder you moved the other files into.
3 - drag the folder on the Desktop into iPhoto to import them as one event. If you get a duplicate warning I'd let it import the duplicate and use Duplicate Annihilator to find them so you can cull out the duplicate you don't want.
Other than that you might have to start over from scratch as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
1 - Move the existing library folder to the desktop
2 - Open the library package like this.
3 - Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
4 - Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.

Have just installed latest iTunes version 11.1.4 and now my girls ipod touch gen 4 won't sync with computer. Do I need to reinstall iTunes? We do not have WiiFii. Please help - thanks
I have windows 8, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with anything, but i figured maybe 11.1.4 just doesn't like 8. soooo.. i went onto my computer settings and uninstalled anything and everything made my apple and then reinstalled itunes 11.1.3 and it now reads my ipod nano happy day thanks apple for making something that you can't help me with at all

Sorry but as of Firefox 4.0 and newer the old Mac OSX 10.4.x is no longer supported as OSX 10.5.x is the minimum along with Intel for Firefox 4.0 and newer including Firefox 5.0.
You can use the still supported Firefox 3.6 which is at 3.6.18 at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html or if you were using a PPC and not a Intel then there was this third-party option at http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

Hi John, thanks a lot, I see that. It actually answers another question I have. I already had that box checked, but I never knew that dialogue box was there. Anyway, my MOTU midi express 128 is dimmed and all 8 midi channel lights are on which has never happened before so there must be something wrong with my midi setup now. sheesh! This helps a lot! Was checking email on my iPad. Tried to reply to. An email using yahoo. Now the reply email is frozen and I can't use the e mail box for anything. What do I do?
Try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if it works properly when you re-open the app (you may lose the reply/draft) : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
TS4526 I just updated my Apple tv to 5.2.1 and now I can't access Itunes store
When I try to access the store nothing happens, the screen stays on the account information page. Im using IMAC with Mountain Lion 10.8.3 and the latest Itunes update. Everything else seems to work fine.

If by other music you mean CDs and the like, those were only on your computer to which you last synced the phone. If they weren't there and yu got them onto the phone by manually syncing to another computer you will have to go back to that computer to get hte music again. Apple Store certainly won't have it.

Thanks for your reply. I was able to find help through a tech support chat session and the person helped me edit my /etc/hosts file and it solved the problem.
For anyone else experiencing this issue (Mac OS X):
Close all other programs and sign out from the Adobe Desktop App
From the Finder, Go > Go to Folder...
Type /etc and hit enter
Find "hosts" file (only "hosts", there were similar files such as hosts.config but only open the one that says "hosts"
Open the file, and replace the entire content with ### Host Database## localhost is used to configure the loopback interface#
Close the file, sign back into the Adobe Desktop App

I just installed iOS 8.0 on my iPad, and now I can't preview my content on iBooks Author. I get the message "No ATC". What does that mean?
I am geting the same message when updating to IOS-5. "Please re-insert you SIM, or visit your carrier store to receive a replacement SIM card." Unfortunately we are stuck as well and I have not found anyone yet to give a solution??? Will end up going to Apple tomorrow :-(

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I just installed iLife on my new iMac 10.8.2 version and now I can't open my iPhoto app. It says it is damaged or incomplete. What can I do to get it back along with all of my picutures? I was told by an Apple employee at my one to one training that it was OK to install iLife to get the iDVD that I wanted. Help!
I have installed iLife a few times and because of photostream, the version on the disc must be updated. Software update usually takes care of it. It sounds like you installed an old version over a new version. I've not tried that.
You have a late 2012 machine, if you open the Mac app store from the dock, you should be able to go to the purchased tab and download/install the right version of iphoto. Honestly, you should not have used that disc on this new of mac or at least only installed iDVD & iWeb but not garageband, iphoto, and iMovie.
If the Mac App Store shows iphoto as installed already, drag the app from your applications folder to the trash and reinstall it again from the Mac App Store. That is the version you need. You may find garageband and imovie have similar problems.

PS. your photos are in your photo folder in your home folder. don't touch those, I'm talking about the app "iphoto" in the applications folder.
