HT3204 I can't download apps to my ipod 5th gen - ever since I updated to the ios7.4 :( Please help!
Hi ~
I recently upgraded to the ios 7.04 and ever since I am unable to download apps to my ipod (5th gen).
The new apps show up in my itunes library but they will not download onto my ipod.
I feel as though I have tried everything.
Please help with whatever tips you may have for me!

Some other apps say iOS 4+ but don't list the iPod Touch 2nd gen in the description, so I'm guessing they just don't work no matter the OS. However, the apps listed above say OS 3+ and just say ipod touch, so I think they should work. I'm running iTunes 10.3 but not the most recent release, and am updating as I type just in case that's the problem. Thanks for any help or advice!

If the iPod was purchased in one of the middle eastern countries that prohibit FaceTime then there is no way to make it appear.
Otherwise you can't find it so:
- use the Search feature to find it or go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Screen layout
- Go to Settings>General>Restrictions since it can be hidden by Restrictions -
why wouldn't they warn users that updating to ios 7 via wifi can cause a problem.
ive had the same with my wife phone, the phone provider wont help told me to go to apple, but they say because i did'nt buy from them go to where you bought which was my provider??

My ipod 5th gen says it is connected to the internet and i can go on apps that require an internet connection but whe i try to use the weather or another app that uses your current location it cant find me???
If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds -

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
- Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
- Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.

Ever since I updated to the IOS 6, I no longer can play my music in the car! It is plug and play! It just sits there saying connecting and nothing happens. A couple of my friends have said the same thing. Any ideas? Help please!
Hello ..do you have a history on the phone? did you get it wet? was it dropped? have you been using an authentic ORIGINAL apple charging cable?
this problem occurs when there is a short circuit in the phone... you most likely got it wet at some point and maybe didnt even realize it? The moisture in the phone hasb probablly oxidized one or several capacitors, integrated chips thereby short circuiting the phone. that is why he phone is acting erratic because these short circuits inadvertently "activates" other circuits.. eventually the phone will not turn on anymore- the heat will stress the citcuit board and you will have discontinuity along your main power lines and the phone will cease to function..i see this alllll the time in our shop
the fact you upgraded to ios6 will even work the phone harder because its a more powerful operating system taking full advantage of the A4 chip.. -

I Sugges you to log into your hotmail acc and go to security and password change bit, then you will see two-step verification.. turn that off and you will be able to set it up on your iPhone/iPad or even Mac.

i have an old ipod touch... 2g verson 4.2.1
when i was downloading apps for it.. it keeps saying must have an IOS 5 or higher...
so my questions is:

Can't download apps onto my iPod touch?
When I try to download apps onto my iPod touch, it gives me a message that says I need to verify the account and billing information, which I have done, but it still won't let me get anything, it says I need to log into my account then sends me back into the app store to log in, but after I type it in and go to log in, it is stuck at a grey loading screen and asks me to log in again, non-stop. Is there any fix for this?

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.

I can't sync playlists from my iPod 5th gen to my iTunes library on new laptop
I have a new laptop and have managed to move all my music to it and install iTunes and all the albums are correct and present, but it was a bit complicated. I'm not sure if we missed a step in moving everything via a larger hard drive, but my playlists were not transferred and even though my iTunes recognises my iPod 5th gen it won't actually sync. I have run the diagnostic test, it says it's all fine. It won't sync new purchases and I can't copy playlists from my iPod back into the iTunes library. I have 15 playlists and I don't want to do it all over again. Does anyone have any ideas?
Anyone have any ideas?I did find that if I bought new songs from iTunes that I could transfer them to playlists on my iPod, but otherwise when I connect the iPod, under settings (on the left under the device icon) if I select music, it brings up the tick box for sync music. If I try to tick that box, it asks if I am sure if I want to remove existing music and sync with this iTunes library.

Why when I download new apps on my Ipad 4 the apps goes on my Iphone too? I know this is the same Apple id but how can I resolve this? Do I have to have anothe apple id for each ?
Do you currently have automatic downloads turned 'on' for apps on your iPhone : Settings > iTunes & App Stores (Settings > Stores if it's not on iOS 6) ? If you do then try turning it off, that should then mean that any apps that you buy on your iPad don't automatically download on your phone as well.
Or if it happens when you sync the phone to your computer's iTunes, then when you next connect the phone on its Apps tab make sure that the 'automatically sync new apps' tickbox under the listbox of apps is unticked -

Mate, this really isn't hard to understand.
I bought my ipod touch, have had apps on it since i bought it (i.e. sheep launcher free), they have always worked. I recently formatted my ipod and re-installed the 4.3 update, and as the posters here state, the apps which USED TO WORK FINE now say "requires ios5" or "requires ios 4.4" before downloading, both of which are incompatible with the ipod, making most of the apps that used to work fine completely unatainable.
Why are apps we have ALWAYS used now completely unavailable? Apple, are you really trying to deterr your customers into purchasing a newer device? Why would you want to intentionally annoy your clientele?
Fix this problem please, or you've lost a dedicated customer. I have over 5 ipods. I won't be buying another one if this kinda thing continues - you just forgot about your customers with older devices, i mean microsoft still produce updates for XP, an OS over 10 years old. Why can you not extend the same support for your older customers?
