Library Duplicated
I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and it duplicated virtually every track in my library. I need a quick way to delete the duplicates. Sorting by "Date Added" will not work, because every track is listed as added on 12/12/2011 even though this happened today 12/19/2011.I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. The latest version of iTunes does not allow me to open a playlist in a separate window. I need this feature. Is there another way? You used to be able to double click a playlist and have it appear in a new window.
Others have commented on this too. It seems to be one of the 'improvements' of the newer version you are supposed to embrace with joy as an exciting new development. You can send feedback to Apple but realize you may be perceived as standing in the path of progress.

I was upgrading to the latest version of itunes, and my new ipad mini was connected to my computer at the same time, try to sync for the first time. The upgrade crashed part way through, and now itunes won't load and I get an error message saying MSVCR80.dll is missing. How do I do about reinstalling this file?
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and now I cannot play the songs in order. It will skip around or just stop playing the song currently playing when it is finished. I just want to play an album from start to finish. The shuffle feature is turned off.
It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

i do not have a file box in the latest version of itunes,and so cannot consolidate my files to be able to move itunes from one extarnal hard drive to another.i have tried tutorials but all say to use the file button which i do not have and when i go to library it does not open the consolidate file box.can anyone please advise or point me to a tutorial for the latest version of itunes guide to be able to do this as i'm going mad here.is there a step by step guide i can follow?

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes (11.0.4). Now I both unable to make purchases on iTunes and unable to sync my iPhone with my computer without restoring it to factory settings (which will erase my data). Is there someway to revert back to 11.0.3 version of iTunes?
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions. -

Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11.1.5) Installed on your computer

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

Note:
Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery... -
Until I got to the latest version of iTunes, I always synced contacts and calendar directly. Now that option is gone. I have shut off iCloud but still don't have anyway to sync these, apparently, without going to the cloud. I don't want to share my information with Apple. Further, in the past any time I have attempted something like this it was a complete mess with entries duplicated.

I tried to download the latest version of iTunes but failed half way through. It suggested that i reinstall we I tried. However, i now get this message which states "Application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"

I downloaded the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro and now when I open iTunes I can not access the iTunes store; however, I can access the Apps store. I have tried reinstalling iTunes. I have tried changing the pop up/cookie settings in Firefox and Safari. I have logged out and also shut down my MacBook. I have tried changing the Firewall settings on my MacBook. I have googled possible ways to get the iTunes store to work and nothing has helped so far. Please help.
It will never automatically update. You always will ahev to tell it to update. it will never update unless you tell it to.
The pics and music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. The ipod is not a backup device.
Cop everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
Is it just me that finds the latest version of iTunes a bit rubbish? I'm used being able to open a playlist in a separate window in order to browse through my music and easily drag and drop tracks into the playlist (in a separate window). It also meant that I could search and play the contents of my main library and just drag and drop into a large space AND easily hit the stop button and instantly hit the pay button to just start a new tune from a new playlist. Now you can only press pause / play / pause and so on. If I want to view the contents of a playlist while listening to another I need to navigate to it which takes me away from what I'm doing in the other. It just makes for a lot of clicking and navigating around the houses when I used to be able to have multiple windows.
I'm an avid music fan and just love organising my music to make finding / listening to my favourites eaiser.
Maybe I'm just a bit thick and not using the software correctly, but it seems that a lot of handy features have been either removed or replaced with inferior ones (at least for me anyway). I appreciate that probably for most generic general music goers this isn't an issue, but for me it is.
