HT3209 (w/iTunes) Freezes on Tv shows already bought (not rented).

I have about 17 GB of TV shows in my iTunes library, However, my shows keep freezing and pausing and it doesn't disturb me for reruns as much as episodes i havent seen yet. The video freezes while the audio keeps going, sometimes it takes 2 minutes for me to either have a chance to pause the video or wait for the video to catch up with the "pace" (all the sudden the video starts going like super fast-forward). What can I do to allow smoother playback on my vids???

First confirm you've set up AppleTV to sync not to stream - right click on AppleTv in iTunes and if it says Turn off syncing as one of the options you're set to sync (1 computer only can sync the rest stream).
Next, has anything at all synced?
In the AppleTv 'device' tabs in iTunes are you set to automatically sync or custom sync? Automatic sync may not transfer watched items, but if that's all you've got I'd expect it to transfer something.
Are you logged in to itujnes with the username set up for the purchases, and is this also set up for AppleTV, as well as teh correct country for the store you bought from?
Is AppleTv seeing the internet? Can you watch film/TV trailers from iTunes store? If so AppleTv is seeing the internet, if not it may not be able to authorise correctly to transfer movies?

    Hi,

iTunes is a program on your computer, it is not "the Internet".  The fact that the program runs has no bearing on Internet connectivity.
Maybe if a little more information was supplied, like version of the Operating system on the computer and version of iTunes, then a little more assistance could be provided.

  • Itunes freezes when connecting and ipod does not show up

When I connect my nano 3rd gen in windows vista using itunes 9 my ipod does not show up and itunes freezes. the ipod remains with the connected screen and I cannot close out of itunes. Any help would be wonderful... Thanks!!

I have (finally)solved the problem with my iTunes freezing! Here's what I did:
1.I backed up my entire music library to an external hard drive.
2.Then I completely uninstalled iTunes 9 from my computer.
3.After a re-boot I then completely deleted my entire music library. (this can be a little scary so I double checked my music library back up on the external drive)
4.I Googled iTunes 8 and found it at
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/06/28/apple-itunes-8-2-and-quicktime-7-6-2-di rect-download-links/
    5. I downloaded it but before I installed it I copied my music library back to my computer. I did not copy everything that was in my original iTunes music folder however, I only copied the music, album art work, applications, games,Tv shoes, and podcasts folders. I placed those folders in a new folder called iTunes on my computer. I did not include any of the iTunes database files eg: .itl / .xml / or .itdb files as these were created in iTunes 9.
    6. Now I opened iTunes 8.2 and added all of my music and other media content.
    7. Next I attached my iPod nano to my computer. Then Windows automaticly open a window asking me if I wanted to scan for problems or continue without scanning. I had windows scan for problems and once that was done my iPod nano began to sync. Oh what joy!
I think, and this is only a guess based on what I've read here on Apple's discussion pages and my own experience, that there is a problem/conflict or bug with iTunes 9, Windows Vista and the 3rd -4th generation iPod. I will NOT be upgrading to iTunes 9 until Apple has addressed this issue. It seems to me that there are a lot of people having similar issues.

  • My harddrive crashed and I don't know how to re-instate my itunes account where I have already bought music

my harddrive crashed.  we just got another one and we need to know how to re-instate my itunes account where I have already purchased music

First you need to verify whether the files themselves are gone or if it is just the library that doesn't see them.
If the files are gone you may be able to get Apple to let you redownload them.

  • TS1424 A movie I bought (not rented) on Itunes stopped working after not watching it for over a year.  Now it just shows a black screen.

A few years ago I bought GI Joe The Rise of Cobra on Itunes (not rented, bought).  Now, after not watching it for at least a year, when I try to play it all I get is a black screen.  How can I fix this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why itunes is duplicate songs i already bought and make me download it again?

Last week i found that all the songs i bought on the iTunes Store are duplicated.
One downloaded and another waiting to download (with the icloud icon)
    Why is this happening?

    Hi,
In Itunes on your computer, I suggest going to preferences> store and uncheck show iCloud purchases in the cloud.
I think there is a bug in iTunes. Even if track has been downloaded, it is also showing the version in the cloud. Not supposed to work this way? I believe the one with download icon should only be shown if the track is not physically in your iTunes library.

  • TS1424 Itunes film and TV show downloads and not being able to watch them.

When I am using my macbook pro and in itunes and download a film, the film starts to download OK, and it shows the artwork for the film and it also starts downloading as a 'protected MPEG-4 video file'.  You can even start to watch the film Ok on the macbook pro, but as soon as its finished downloading, the artwork disappears and it says that the film has downloaded as just an 'MPEG-4 video file' and is no longer protected.  I am therefore unable to watch the film I have downloaded for my son.
When you try to watch the film in iTunes on my Macbook pro, it says "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.
I have updated to make sure I have all the latest software and I also subscribe to itunes match. I have downloaded lots of films before and never had a problem until a month ago.  Please help!!!

My understanding is that VGA generally does not support HDCP (and it's not an Apple issue as such). If your TV has a DVI input, try that. Or if it has an HDMI input, try that using a DVI to HDMI cable.

  • ITunes freezes and causes shared media to not work on my iOS Devices

Even since I installed Mavericks my iTunes seems to freeze after a while which causes my home sharing media to fail on all my iOS devices. This is really annoying and tiresome i do have a big collection of music and movies on an external HDD but never had issues before the Mavericks update. Anyone now hot to fix this issue once and for all?

I down graded my machines to 10.8 and the issue went away. I have not trouble shot if it is due to itunes upgrade or the mavericks upgrade

  • ITunes freezing upon opening

I used to have a 20GB iPod, and I never used iTunes. A few friends of mine put me on to a program called "Ephpod" which I used to upload music on to my iPod. I just thought it was more convenient than iTunes, personally.
Now I just bought a 80GB iPod and I want to use iTunes to buy TV shows and what not. I used Ephpod to load all of my music on to the new iPod, and now when I try to open iTunes it usually freezes as soon as it recognizes my iPod. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my using another program to manage my iPod. Any thoughts? Thanks so much in advance

    urhggg same with me.
Its been happening to me ever since I updated it.
I open iTunes, it opens fine but I cant click on anything, and I force shut the iTunes down.
Tried restarting comp and stuff, don't want to reinstall because I might lose all my data and I havnt backed it up in a long time....

  • ITunes Freezes when iPod touch plugged in

So last night I plugged my PB G4 into my external hard drive (which is where all my music is stored) and then plugged my iPod Touch 3rd gen into the laptop... figured I'd get the new iOS.  iTunes said I needed to upgrade iTunes first and I agreed to go ahead with the upgrade.  That seemed to work fine.  But now I can't sync my iPod... let alone download the new upgrade (iOS5).  Every time I plug it in iTunes freezes.  It shows up in iTunes and then after about 10 seconds I get the pinwheel spinning.  I've even been quick with plugging it in and then trying to right click on it and then select the back up option... or unplug it and then plug it back in quick and click on upgrade or sync... it almost tricks the thing into working... but to no avail).  I can't even do a restore.  I'm thinking I need to go back to iTunes 10.4 and sync my iPod (it hadn't been synced recently) and start over.  Is this the case?  If so, what is the easiest way to go back to 10.4?
    Thanks.

No help on this?  Really?  Here's a little more info.  When I plug the ipod in with iTunes not running, it opens iTunes.  The ipod charges but causes iTunes to freeze up.  And I can't figure out how to go back to iTunes 10.4... Anybody know?  I've restarted both devices several times... reinstalled iTunes 10.5 2 or 3 times...
I got the iPod Touch in February of this year and have synced it numerous time to this computer without issue.
Oh, and when I plugged it in the other day to do the upgrade iTunes interacted with the iPod just fine... asked me about if I wanted to update to iOS5.  Once the upgrade to iTunes 10.5 happened that's when I started having trouble.
I can't believe I haven't gotten any help on this yet...

  • ITunes asks for a new purchase to download music already bought on iPhone

Hi ppl, i bought a music album on iTunes store using my iPhone, yesterday. Now i'm trying to download it on my iPad (same account) but iTunes tells me i have already bought it, and if i want to get it i have to purchase it again.. I read iTunes licence and terms but it looks i should download album with no additional charges. Any suggestion?
    Thank you.

What country are you in, and are you trying to re-download them via the Purchased tab at the bottom of the iTunes app ? Re-downloading music for free is currently only available in some countries (they are listed on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519). if you are not in a country where you can currently re-download music then you should be able to connect your iPhone to your computer's iTunes and copy them over via File > Transfer Purchases, and you can then sync them to the iPad.

  • Itunes Freezing, PC not responding, no internet windows not shutting ETC.

Problem with ITunes freezing up when you sync or not, can't use the internet or your home networking features, and windows not shutting down correctly or restarting: This is what I found and seemed to work for me. ITunes installs a service called Bonjour that basically is used for networking things like apple TV and remote speaker systems and other people on your home network to be able to use one main iTunes library for another pc (however you can not sync that content so its pretty much useless) unless you need it for apple TV or remote speakers. If you don't use those things then it is best to disable and stop bonjour from running at all. After you disable this service you will then have to delete the default gateway 0.0.0.0 that bonjour creates but doesn't delete, this is what is messing everything up. Seems that bonjour service opens this gateway over your routers gateway which seems to create all kinds of problems when there are two gateways. Sounds like one or two of the programs keeps looking for pc's or networks to connect to.
First, here are some articles that I found that made the most sense:

Here is how I fixed this problem in vista but should work the same for other windows operating systems:
You may have to get windows permission or get administrative permission for any of these steps click ok or yes for all.
    1. On your desktop right click on taskbar and click on task manager.
    2. When task manager comes up, at the top tabs find and click on services.
    3. Find bonjour service and highlight it.
    4. Down at the bottom to the right click on services another window will pop up.
    5. Find bonjour service highlight it.
    6. Right click and then click on properties another window will pop up.
    7. On the general tab in about the middle of the window you will see a (startup type) drop down menu, open that up and click disable.
    8. Below that you will see service status click the stop button.
    9. Click the apply button in the lower right corner and click OK.
    10. In the previous windows, the service window and task manager service tab window bonjour service should read disabled or stopped, but you might have to restart your PC to see this, DON'T DO THAT YET.
    11. Close all open windows click Start button and type cmd in the Start Search box.
    12. Right-click cmd.exe in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator (if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation)
    13. At the command prompt, type the following command, route delete 0.0.0.0 and then press ENTER:
Just so we are clear this is the command: route delete 0.0.0.0
    14. Close the command prompt window and restart your pc and try ITunes and see what happens also just to be sure fallow steps 1 through 9 to see if bonjour was stopped and disabled from running. This should fix those issues, If not you may need a complete uninstall of all ITunes products and a clean install ( make sure you back up your libraries and all your files you use with ITunes before you do this) Here is a link to explain how to do this below.

  • How can I re-dowload the TV series that I already bought?

I 've lost the half of a TV series (I don't konw how), and I'm trying to dowload it.
I tried to do as if I wanted to buy one episode and, itunes store says: "you had already bought it, if you buy it a second time you'll risk to get it two times, if you don't have on your Itunes lybrary go to store>search for available downloads" Ones I tried wath it said, itunes store say:"you don't have any download available". And luckly on the home page of the itunes store I saw "purchases" but there was only music, apps, and books, but any film or TV series.
Do somebody have an idea how to dowload the TV series that I've already purchased?

I try on my purchase and doesn't give me that option. Also an the app from SongPop but I have to paid again. I guess I have to go to the Apple store. Thanks for your help!..
