Question. I am running 10.6.8. on my macbook and wrongly/inadvertently downloaded Lion Safari rather than an update to my trusty browser system. How do I uninstall Lion which seems to have overwritten. 'scrubbed' my faithful friend leaving me bereft - hence this plea sent via my Imac.

How can I get back the space to type in web addresses when I click on safari. it seems to have gone away??

I am trying to find out how to get back the space up top of window that appears when I click on safari. I used to be able to type in web addresses and go to places but somehow I lost the space which was just above or just below gray space that show apple, store, mac, ipod etc. I am 78 & sometimes get confused. any hep would be greatly appreciated. When Safari is active, in the menu bar at the top of the screen, there's a menu labeled View. From that menu, select Show Toolbar. It's right at the top.

If you find it, you will have it back.
If you had find my iphone activated on the iphone BEFORE it was lost, then you may be able to track it.

If you are running v10.7 Lion, try disabling the "resume" feature...
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Restart your Mac.
If you aren't running v10.7 Lion, which Mac OS X is installed on your Mac?

I am working on a paper on a website where I wasn't signed in. I lost the information after I tried to save it because I was brought back to the log-in page. When trying to go back I was brought to the sign-in page again. How can I recover my lost work? I tried using the web browser history tab and I am automatically brought back to the log-in page.

Not going to help you now, but I use this extension to automatically "cache" the content of text areas for situations where that may happen.

The only problem with it is, it save only the latest "state" - no backups beyond what is saved. If something in another tab causes Firefox to crash, you may lose the most recent text that you typed when Firefox was getting ready to crash.

You can re-enable it for special purposes, opposite of disabling it...
Disable Java in your Browser settings, not JavaScript.
