HT3275 iMac.sparsebundle" is already in use.
I continue to have this message pop up, even after I reboot the time machine. I can usually back up at least once until it happens again. I just cant seem to find what other computer seems to have its attantion. any Ideas as to h ow to find what is telling me tht it "Is already in use"

If you are running Mountain Lion and getting this message when trying to backup, try this:
Open AirPort Utility (If you are in Mountain Lion this will be 6.0 or Higher)
Select you Time Capsule
Select the Disk Tab
Deselect "Enable File Sharing"
Click OK Let the Time Capsule Re-Boot
Go Back into AirPort Utility and re-select "Enable File Sharing" and let it Re-Boot again.
This should fix the problem.
If you are not running Mountain Lion the advice provided by other should work (http://pondini.org/TM/C12.html). The main thing is to reset users.

I'm getting the following error message from my Time Machine for two days now:
"The backup disk image “/Volumes/Backup Files/Burke iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use."
I haven't changed anyting lately and can't find the problem...Try just rebooting the TC.. or restart of the whole network, in correct order.. modem.. router/TC.. clients.

It means that there are bugs in the operating system.
Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
Count to ten
Plug the power cord back into the back of the Time Capsule

The backup disk image “/Volumes/Data/Connie’s iMac.sparsebundle” is already in use. Time Machine has stopped backing up. I deleted the selected disc and re-selected which one to use. Not sure what else to do.
Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
Count to 10
Plug the power cord back into the Time Capsule
Count to 45 to allow the Time Capusle to fully restart

Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
Wait a minute
Plug the power cord back in to the back of the Time Capsule

Has anyone come across the red "i" message saying "The backup disk image "/Volumes/Chris...(the last bit being) iMac.sparsebundle" is already in use."?
As of yesterday (4th Dec 2012) everything was fine, no trouble or problems at all. Wake up this morning, turn on the computer and when it came time to backup itself, the message occurred above and this has prevented my time machine from backing up from this morning (5th Dec 2012) ever since then.
Everything on my computer is up-to-date but this problem still persists displaying this message practically every hour, on the hour and nothing is getting backedup!
If you know what is going on and more importantly, how to fix this, I would be indebted to you for sharing your knowledge with me on this subject.

I recently bought a new Time Capsule and the following message has started to show:-

Stock standard issue.. asked 5-10 times per day here.. look at "more like this" on the right.
Simply reboot the TC ie pull out the power. .count to 10.. plug the power back in.
Maybe need to restart the network.. in order modem.. router .. TC.. clients. 2min gap.

A constant bug in Mountain Lion.
Usually, simply powering off the Time Capsule, waiting a few minutes, and starting it back up will reset the network connection.
Give that a try first. -
