HT3275 time machine couldn't complete backup
I have a new iMac, and an older Western Digital Sharespace network backup. I have the mac and NAS attached to the same switch (the router is full). Time Machine will connect to WD_backup, and I use wd_backup as my user ID ,and backup as my password as indicated. It connects, but no matter what I do I constantly get the same error message.
"Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to "WDSharespace""
"The backup disk is not available"
I am at a complete loss as to why this will not work. Can anyone help?

Look at the more like this on the right column of the web page.
This is the most common error here.. we answer it 5-10times every day.
Simple method.. pull out the TC power cord .. count to 10.. plug in the TC power cord.

Pull the power cord from the back of the Time Capsule
Wait 30 seconds
Plug the power cord back in to the back of the Time Capsule

I too continue to have problems with my TC. I can always get it back on line, using your receip. In fact it's pasted on to my monitor. The problem is it only lasts for awhile, 3 or 4 days, and I have to do it all over again.
Do you know if Apple is working this problem?

My Time Machine backup has stopped completing on my MacBoom Pro 2009.
I have a 3TB Time Capsule running a wireless dual-band network.
There are 2 Macs using it for backups.
Only mine is having a problem.
The backup disk image “/Volumes/Rosehill Time Capsule-1/DMcA Mac.sparsebundle” is already in use.
Any ideas?

DThis is bulk standard issue with Mountain Lion.. usually a reboot of the TC is plenty enough to fix it.. sometimes a reboot of the network.. restart in order.. modem.. router/TC.. clients. 2min gap.

Time Machine won't back up files on another external hard drive as it says it is case sensitive. The other drive contains mainly music and pictures.

bestGive your TC a wee reboot now and then.. maybe daily until Apple give us a bug fix on the firmware or OS.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
It means you are using wireless. probably on Mountain Lion..
It means you should reboot the network in the correct order.. so that Mountain Lion can remember its name and the TC name again. -

I've got mine working again by deleting a partial backup that was on the Time Capsule.
I mounted the backup sparsebundle, and then browsed the content and found a filestucture named <timstamp>.inProgress. I removed that and the followed the tip to disconnect described above. That did the trick for me. -
