HT3275 What is a sparsebundle and how do I get it doing whatever it is meant to be doing?

Backups using Time Capsule were fine until my husband backed his notebook up to the TC. Since then I have been receiving an error message as follows... The backup disk image “/Volumes/MYNAME's Time /MYNAME MacBook Air.sparsebundle is already in use." Help?
Looking at the TimeCapsule files in finder I can see three sparsebundle files - one for my Mac Air, one for our iMac, adn the last for my husbands Macbook. Mine says that it was last modified today (though it wasnt) and the other two say they were last modified in July 2014
Ok - I find this TimeCapsule stuff pretty confusing - obviously it wasnt set up right .... what should i do next? If it makes any difference, I am using Mac OS X version 10.6.8

Try just rebooting the TC.. or restart of the whole network, in correct order.. modem.. router/TC.. clients.

I have version 5.7 and every time I opened it I was told that updates are available and to click on the icon to access these. Instead it just took me to the
adobe page with nowhere visible to update. I then sought to download lightroom cc and this is when I could not access the 'develop' section due to reduced
functionality It was apparent that my photos had been put in cc but no way to access them unless I wanted to subscribe.
I have since remedied the problem as my original lightroom 5.7 icon is still available on the desktop and have gone back to that. I do feel that this is a bit
of a rip off and an unnecessary waste of my time though.

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
- Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
- Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.

Have you tried syncing the iPhone to your computer and restoring from the backup to see if you can get your other songs back? If you purchased the new album with your Apple ID, you should be able to download it to your computer to sync.

if you know it turn off in settings- general - passcodelock
if you dont know it do this
recovery mode
open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not iOS device
turn phone off
hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

That is the orientation lock indicator. It means that you phone will not go into landscape mode when tilted on it's side.
To turn orientation lock off double tap the home button, to access the multitasking menu, then swipe your finger to the right over the multitasking bar at the bottom and touch the big button on the left with the padlock.

Such symptoms bode serious hardware issues and you shouldn't think about fixing it yourself when you are still in waranty. Get to an Apple Store, like the other poster suggests.
