That's strange, because no where in the iPhone's limited warranty does it state "365 days", but it does state 1 year. I think the only way they could get out of that is because of the battery, which is not covered by the warranty. HOWEVER, it is stated on AT&T's website that claims are handled from 31-365 days, which would explain why the Apple people acted as such. I know you have Verizon, but since it is (essentially) the same device, it's under the same warranty.

Many people have had stories about issues happening as soon as their warranty expires, with products in general.
I'd just consider upgrading, and selling your old one.

To the best of my knowledge, all iPads sold directly from Apple are unlocked. The only caveat would be if you intend to puchase in the US; if so, you'll need to make sure you purchase the GSM (AT&T) model, not the one intended for use on Verizon's network.

Do you have receipt that you bought your previous phone in Canada? If so, go back to apple store in Michigan, and perhaps they will replace it. Otherwise, you pro ably should have returned it to the store in Canada. You best bet is to call apple and see if they can come up with a solution.

Okay so it has been announced that T-Mobile will be selling the iPhone 5 and it will also support their 4G LTE networks. My question is, if I bought a factory unlocked iPhone 5 from the Apple store (2 weeks ago) will it support the 4G LTE T-Mobile networks? Or will be stuck with the insoncistant 3G and Edge speeds? I have the A1428 model.

Legality aside (I'm not a lawyer and have no opinion on the matter) in order to make a purchase of an iPhone 5 you would need to travel to a country where they are for sale and purchase it there. Be sure to get one that is officially unlocked or you would not be able to use it with your cell carrier. Be sure that your carrier supports use of the iPhone before you buy. Also note that the warranty of the iPhone is only valid in the country of purchase.
Appe does not ship outside of the countries where it sells the phones.

You're gonna have to figure out a way to call AppleCare...there is no AppleCare where you live...somewhere, & ask to talk to "Account Security". Here's a list of worldwide support numbers:

well i'm not really asking which is better for travel, i'm just asking over all which phone is better for the plan i have with T-Mobile, but i'm assuming is the Galaxy s2, but the only reason y im not getting that phone is cause that phone is way too big. sigh and i really like the i4s, been using iphone before as well, so i'm kinda use to it. Just bought new replacement iphone from apple store and less than two hours later, the screen went blurry and I can barely see anything. Phone still functions fine though.

Just bought a new replacement phone at the apple store and as soon as I got home, vertical lines came up through the screen and now it's extremely blurry. All the functions of the phone still work fine and I really can't see anything except a small part of the screen at the top. I called the apple store and he told me to put the phone in recovery mode on my computer and the restore and update it. I did this and I can tell the phone has restored yet it is still extremely blurry and I can't see anything to type it in. Is there anything I could do with this? You don't preorder in the Apple Store. You preorder on-line. It will be mailed to your home address. Apple has not yet announced an unlocked iPhone 5 in the U.S. so yes, you would need to select a carrier.

I´m from Brazil . I bought 2 Iphones 4 in USA . I tested one of them in USA so it´s now locked. The other one that was not tested is OK ( unlocked ).The second one was turned on just in Brazil. Something said it´s a common problem since the Iphone is unlocked from factory
The locked Iphone does not recognize any SIM card from Brazilian Carriers.

Please clarify. From where did you purchase the phones? The statement that you tested one of them in the US, so now it's locked, does not make sense.
The iPhones sold at Apple Stores are NOT necessarily unlocked. They can be sold locked to a carrier but without a contract, unlocked, or locked to a carrier with a contract. They do not lock on first use.
It sounds like you purchased carrier locked phones, in which case they are locked to AT&T. ONLY the carrier can unlock them and AT&T will NOT do so under any circumstances.
If you are getting an "unsupported SIM" message, the phones are locked to AT&T. You will not be able to use them.

Iphone 4 factory unlocked by apple - Still locked?

Hi i was wondering if anyone can help. Firstly i bought my phone in the UK on the Orange network eons ago and have recently upgraded to an Iphone5 but wanted to use my old Iphone4 on a different network. I phone Orange 5days ago and Factory unlocked it for £20.
I have sync'd the phone with itunes
When i put sim in, Iphone says 'no service'
When i click on itunes > iphone it states 'unsupported carrier please insert correct carrier sim'
I have replaced the sim and rebooted the phone several times
I have performed a restore on the phone and now unable to set it up as incorrect carrier sim
What am i doing wrong? What do i need to do to recieve the update to say my phones be unlocked? does it have to be plugged into itunes?
