I have an iPod touch that was a gift this past Christmas. I cracked the screen and don't know if it can be replaced. I've been told it can be at an Apple Store. Is this true?

Did you purchase AppleCare + with your iPhone? If you did, then you are covered for two incidents of accidental damage subject to a $79 service fee plus tax. Otherwise, you would have to pay for the out of warranty replacement.

If there is a hardware problem that is causing the lack of touch screen sensitivity, it would be covered by the warranty as long as the problem was not caused by accidental damage - like dropping the iPad, getting it wet, letting it get too cold, too hot ...something like that.
See if this helps. Close all of the apps in the recents tray and then reboot your iPad.

If it's due to a manufacturing defect, the warranty will cover it. If it's due to accidental damage, it'll cost to get it fixed unless it happened during an authorized repair.

If you get AppleCare before 90 days is up you also continue free phone tech support from Apple - so by getting it as early as possible you increase the time you can get free phone support.
