As wjosten just said:
The replacement phone could be new or refurbished...you don't get a choce...depends on what is in stock.

Wanting to know whether apple can repair the damage done to the macbook.
You’ll need to pay. The warranty doesn’t cover accidental damage such as that.

I really need help. My phone has fallen into my toilet and obviously won't turn on. Has anyone tried the "rice" trick to make your phone work? I would really appreciate any advice or help. I'm trying really hard not to have to look into getting a new phone all together. Thanks!
Oh no this is not good jbirdphan! We want to ensure you have a working phone. With the phone falling into water, it's now considered water damage. Do you carry insurance on the device? If so, you may file an insurance claim to replace your device. In addition, you may also check to see if you are eligible to upgrade to a new phone. To verify your upgrade date you may dial #UPG send directly from your handset.
Thank You,

I have just bought an iPhone 5 and it won't sync to iTunes. It says it needs iTunes 10.7, which I have downloaded and installed. I still get the error message and looking at "about iTunes" it says 10.6.3. What do I do??
Perhaps check to see if you're accidentally running two different versions of iTunes. There's some information on troubleshooting that in the Opening iTunes section of the following document:

hi - i have recently upgraded to an iphone and find that when i open my MS Outlook on my computer, the emails that were on the iphone get wiped out. Has anyone got a solution to this problem? I'm sure it's very simple when you know the answer! Thanks.
Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

Solution below.
Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software. -
My IPhone 4 won't turn on , I have tried holding the power button , the home button for 20 secs and it won't work , tried putting it into DFU mode and nothings happened , last night I updated it to 6.0.1 since then it hasn' t turned on , what should I do?
I suggest charging it for several hours, then trying again.

I tried every single procedure to get my iPhone 5 turn on but none would work including the hard restart (for over 2 minutes, that's how much I'm desperate), connecting it to itunes, connecting it to a dock, everything! ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO?
If nothing else is working you can try to put it into recovery mode and restore it that way. Plug in you cable to your computer and make sure your phone is off...hold the home button while you plug the cable into your phone, continue holding the button until a logo pops up showing itunes and cord going towards it, then you can let go of your home button and itunes will prompt you that it detects a phone in recovery mode and make you restore it

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S, 16 GB to the most recent version (8.1?). I don't know what I was updating from, because I can't access that, but it was whatever was installed on it (I got it about a year ago, so probably 6.something).
It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync with my macbook plus, which is what I have always sync'd it to. (I backed it up and sync'd it right before I tried to update the software.)
Since it originally froze almost 3 hours ago, it shows a white screen with the apple on it and a line underneath. When I try to sync with my laptop, it says it needs me to enter a passcode on the phone, which I can't enter because the screen is frozen. So I'm unable to access the iPhone portion of iTunes.
I have tried to turn it off, with no luck. I have tried rebooting my laptop and syncing, but I still get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I really wanted to wait to update the software, but I was having internet connectivity issues for the past 3 weeks, and Sprint suggested updating the phone's software.
Thanks in advance for your help!Hi NWL1,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

My iPhone 4 suddenly shut of and it won't turn back on
my iPhone 4 suddenly shut of and it won't turn back on. when i try charging it the apple comes up but then it shuts of and a few seconds later the apple will come up again but my phone won't turn on! it hasnt been water damaged and i have tried holding down the menu and lock button for 20 seconds and even more but it wont turn on. Last night it came on for 2 minutes and then shut down randomly and wont turn on again. Any advice?
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at Apple to have the device checked. Sounds like you may have a hardware problem.

I dropped my iphone 4 on concrete and it won't turn on
About an hour ago, i dropped my iPhone on the cement and it won't turn on. I tried restarting it, but that didn't work. Right now it is on the charger. What do I do?
Take it to Apple and get an out of warranty replacement. Be prepared to pay for it.

I have tried charging my itouch on the computer, in a docking station, and it gets very hot. It won't turn on, even after trying all the resets I've read on this site. Any ideas what the problem is? Is it fixable?
Hey Halefarm, What happens if you connect directly with the charging source with your cable, no docking station? Since resetting did not help, try connecting directly with the cable to your power source and your iPod. Next try a different cable, there could be a short in the one you are currently using. If still will not charge correctly, I'm leaning in the direction of a failing battery. Set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated by Apple. Have your iPod evaluated for possible battery issues. Take the cable and dock and have them tested as well. If it is a failing battery, you choices are; replace the battery, either through Apple or third party shop. Replace it yourself, if you can. Or, you look into getting a new iPod. I don't have the cost of a new battery for an iPod 3, but I'm sure it's under $100. Check with Apple for exact pricing. Good luck, Cheers.

My ipod isn't turning on. I even plugged it into the computer and it won't turn on. What do I do?
Try here:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
Alos, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPOd so you can restore it via iTunes. For recovery modes see:

I just got a new iPhone S and it won't turn on.
I just gota new iPhone 5 S and it won't turn on. I've tried holding down the button, resetting, and charging. Sim card is installed and activated. Any other suggestions?
As other have suggested, sounds like you should take it to the Apple Store to have them check out the hardware.
However, don't overlook the simple things first. Check that your lightning cable is plugged in to the iPhone securely, and that the USB end is plugged into the charger securely, and that the charger is plugged into a known working wall outlet. Check for things like a power strip or switched outlet that is not turned on.
I know this stuff sounds obvious but you would be amazed how often we all overlook the simple things when trying to solve technology problems. -
I have an Iphone 3g and i can't turn on, but if i plug it on the Iphone charger i can see the Apple Logo but it quickly disappears(Apple Logo SOD) When I connect it to the computer it won't charge and it won't turn on, I tried DFU mode and it doesn't work. I tried STABBING IT(lol, it works sometimes) and i doesn't work again. If i can't connect it to the computer i can recover it but i know that it still works. WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!!!

Apple suggest a removal and re-install of iTunes to get over the 1601 / 1602 error message.
Other sites suggest trying a different USB socket… direct to the PC / Mac not a hub.
