HT3310 Connecting new iPhone 5 to sound system.

I just got new iphone 5's. i also have several "computer sound systems" throughout our home we connect our phones and iPads to. The new 5's wont play when connected. Is there an adapter now required for this?

These are computer amplified speaker systems you would hook up to you desktop computer using a mini audio cable usually supplied with the system. The mini cable ends plug into the old iPhone 4's and the iPads and allow the music to be heard like a good stereo system. The cable fits into the new iPhone 5, but no sound is played. Is this any clearer?

File a complaint with Apple for not giving adequate warning before upgrading OS X that it would render PPC programs dead.
That someone at Apple said requiring the iPhone 5 to have 10.8 (10.6.8 is the minimum actually) and in order to remain a loyal Apple customer they need to fix this mess and revert your machine and software back to 10.6.8
You see, 10.6.8 would have ran your iPhone 5 and ran your PPC based software, so whoever told you to upgrade to 10.8 was wrong and they need to fix your machine.
It can be reverted to 10.6.8 yourself.

I'm tryna connect sound running from my macbook to my home cinema kit. the sound system has a fiber optic input. so im trying to connect the sound via digital means. can you tell me what cables i need. I saw the fiber optic cables and i no the headphone jack can support fiber cable, but can some one tell me what piece i need to connect to my cable so i can stick it in the headphone jack of the mac.

The headphone jack on the MacBook is a combined analog and digital optical port. Since it's the 3.5mm size, if you want to connect it to your sound system via a digital optical audio cable, you'll also need what's known as a mini-SPDIF to SPDIF adapter or cable. It looks like there's a cable with an adapter available at the UK online Apple store. If you already have a cable, you may be able to find one of the adapters at a local electronics store. They're usually available at a Radio Shack in the U.S., for example.

I was told that you can buy a dock that will connect to any portable sound system where you can dock your ipod to play through the sound system and charge at the same time...is this true and if so where can i buy?

Connect Macbook PRO house sound system via IPOD adaptor

I want to connect my Macbook PRO via USB to IPod dock adaptor on whole house sound system w/IPOD adaptor. Any suggestions for adaptors with USB to IPOD-like port? In other words one end of the cable needs USB (for Mac) and the other needs to look the internal mating part of the IPOD.

Connection to Honda automobile sound system

Since 2010, I have been able to connect my iPhones (original, 3 and 5) through the 16-pin/lightning connector to my 2010 Honda automobile's USB slot. I've always been able to then use the steering wheel control buttons and automobile touch screen to search songs, albums, playlists, etc. Since upgrading to iOS 8.02, none of the automobile controls work. I have to use the iPhone's controls, which makes me take my eyes off the road and hands off the steering wheel to unlock the phone, access the music and select what to play. This is not an acceptable way of using the phone or automobile's sound system. Is there a correction for this? If not, is it being included in the next (hopefully soon) update?

Can my macbook pro connect to jvc thd60 sound system if so how

i bought a minidisplay port to hdmi cable. i plugged both parts in and havent had any luck getting sound. im not even sure if the sound system wll even play on a mac. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Yes your Mac can connect to the system through the Digital (Optical) Audio In port on the JVC.
Mac's stereo mini output jack doubles as a stereo mini optical port, just have to enable it when the cable is attached in the System Preferences.
All you need is a stereo mini optical to optical cable (aka Toslink) adapter and Toslink optical cable to the receiver.
The Mac can pass multi-channel sound through, it doesn't decode surround sound formats, but the receiver does.
Also if your receiver can take the 2.0 channel of iTunes stereo music and process into 4.1 sound, would make for a nice experience.
Also, if you get a Airport Express or Extreme, you can almost do away with the optical cable and enable AirTunes in Airport Utility on the router, then use a optical cable from that to the JVC.
But I think it only works with iTunes, unless you install some third party software hack from Ambrosia that allows all Mac audio through.

Can't connect my 2.1 sound system to my TV

I have my Element ELFDW406 connected to the (RCA) Audio Output on my TV. My TV speakers are still on, and no signal seems to be going to the 2.1 Sound System from the Audio Out on the TV. This TV has no headphone jack which I used on other TVs for the sound system.
I cannot find anything in the menu via the remote that lets you shut off the TV speakers and switch the audio out via the RCA output. Any Ideas?

I’m not familiar with Element TVs having never actually worked with one before. From what I could find online, it sounds like you’re using the Element ELDFW406 and it looks like you’ve posted this in several other spots online without any success.
The Element website doesn’t have a manual listed for this model, but I was able to find a similar one in the series (ELDFW322) that should give me a better picture of what you’re looking at.
From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t sound like that model of TV has an option for RCA out and instead offers a Coaxial Audio output (S/PDIF) exclusively.
I can’t give a definitive answer though as I'm not able to find accurate information on your specific model. I might be able to recommend a solution to you, and I ask that you provide me with some quick information.
A list of all inputs/outputs on the back of your TV. (They don’t need to be in order, just tell me what each input/output is labeled as).
The model number of your sound system (or a list of inputs/outputs)
With this, I should hopefully be able to give you a better answer than “just use the remote”

Cannot connect new iPhone 5 to restore it from iPhone 4, help?

I have a MacBook, version 10.6.8, itunes updated, just got the iPhone 5. How do I get it to connect to iTunes so I can restore all of my data, contacts, apps, photos, etc.?

The first time you turn on the iPhone, it should find your WiFi network, then ask you if you want to set it up as new or restore it from a previous device. It will ask you if you want to restore using iCloud or iTunes. Bottom line: a new iPhone will present you with the options to do what you want.
If somehow you've passed that point with your iPhone 5 already, you can do Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings on your iPhone 5. That will start the whole setup process over, as if the iPhone just came out of the box.

Connect HP PAvilion to Sound System

HiI have a dv7t-7000 laptop. I'd like to hook it up to the same sound system I use for my TV & DVD player. Does anyone have thoughts on the best way to do that? My one HDMI port is already used to connect to my TV. I don't have an audio card(??) but I'd be willing to get one. I have a head phone jack. If my sound system had an AUX Audio jack, I'm sure I could connect those with a (stereo?) cable. Embarrassing, but I don't even know if I have blue tooth. If I did, that might be a way to go? ITunes has stopped working when connecting new iPhone 6

I am getting what seems to be a common error "iTunes has stopped working" which I have tried many different tricks for fixing that I have found online, but nothing seems to work.
I have been using an iPhone 5 and backing up and syncing with no problems, the only problem being when I try to access the iTunes Store. This didn't bother me too much as I can access the store on my phone and everything else on iTunes worked fine.
But today I bought an iPhone 6 and as soon as I connect it (whether iTunes is already open or opens when I plug the iPhone in) I get the above error message and iTunes closes. So I am unable to sync my back up on to the new phone or use it at all.
Can anyone help with a recent fix for this, or a way around it?
I have tried copying recommended files into the correct folder, re-installing, opening as administrator and many other things I have come across online, but majority of these seem to be from a year or more ago. I am using Windows 7 on a PC, with the latest iTunes that I have just re-installed (again).
Any help would be really appreciated!

Looks like apple is kiding with us. Ive had this problem since Ios 6.1 and now after 3 days I ulgraded to 6.1.2 this ****** issue has returned. Again the other part will listen me if I scream HELLOOo in the first second and then everything works fine or if I wait 1 minute but none can wait that.

I cant seem to connect my new iPhone5 to my home wireless internet, tv and ipad and the previous phone ..no problem, now it wont connect at all although it does recognize the network. I know that I am not the only person with this problem, but am hoping the solution does not require me to go into my router settings. I have been working at this for hours and am getting nowhere fast. Will take it back if solution is not found quickly. Maybe that new galaxy note 3, although the guy at AT&T rather discouraged me since I am a long time apple user, but what the hey...i want wireless.

I am in the router settings on the manufacturers website, I inputted the appropriate numerals but still not able to get the connection. When I was researching the problem, there were some people who said it was a difference between a g or n version of the firmware of the router, but I feel it should not be this difficult for me , since this g and n dicotomy is a real puzzler for me.

I have had my phone for 12 days. There is no sound. It will vibrate. I have looked at all the posts with the same problems, done what was suggested, still no sound! I am almost ready to take it back to the store for a refund and go back to my old TRUSTY razor!
