HT3325 Anyway to use pointers in keynote remote?

Anyway to use pointers from your iphone using keynote remote. I use presentation in ipad.

Thanks for your reply.
As I said I do NOT want to use an iPad2. I know that I can enable AirPlayMirroring in the Taskbar, and then start a keynote presenation afterwards.
My question was how to do this on the iPad1. It doesn't support AirPlay-Mirroring, so it doesn't show me the Airplay button at all at any time, although Keynote is started and running. Since Apple did't say, it this feature will only be for those with AirPlayMirroring capabilties (iPad2 or iPhone4s and above), there needs to be a way how to start an AirPlayKeynotePresentation without the Airplaybutton in the Multitaskingbar.

The remote App 95bulls mentioned works fine for your iOS device - https://itunes.apple.com/app/remote/id284417350?mt=8
Other than that you can use a Bluetooth enabled device. I use my Apple Bluetooth Keyboard to control mine. Works really well.

  • Can't pair bluetooth for using Keynote remote

I can't get my iPhone 5s to use the Keynote remote app with bluetooth.  The bluetooth hotspot works fine so I know my MBP can connect to the phone via bluetooth, and the Keynote app works great with wifi, but can't get it to work with bluetooth.  I assume that I cannot use the hotspot and connect to the Keynote remote app via bluetooth at the same time.  (When I have hotspot activated, the Keynote remote app doesn't work at all--screen appears frozen.)  So I turned off hotspot and then try to pair via bluetooth.  When I browse devices with bluetooth, the phone appears and I click on pair.  I then get a message on my phone to confirm.  I click OK and then it shows on my MBP that it is paired for about 1 second and then it disconnects and I get a message on my phone that the device is not supported.  I am using the latest of everything, iOS 7, Mavericks, iPhone 5s and a one year-old MBP.  So how can this not be supported?

You might also try turning off wifi on both devices when using Bluetooth.  They may be stepping on each other.
There is also a limited distance over which Bluetooth will work.  I work my setup of equipment so that I can keep my iPad and iTouch within about 10 feet of each other.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot play slideshow using Keynote Remote on iPhone

I have purchased Keynote Remote and installed on iPhone 3GS (v3.1.2), the app connects to MacBook Pro no problem, however I cannot 'Play Slideshow' - Just get the screen 'Could not play slideshow. Make sure a slideshow is playing on your computer.' But still doesn't run, even when I have KeyNote running on MacBook and a SlideShow open as required.
Have tried rebooting both devices, I have also removed the App from the iPhone, deleted it from MacBook and then downloaded and installed it again...
    Any ideas please...

    Hello Patchworkm,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:

    Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth
When a Wi-Fi connection is unavailable you can use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth to control your Keynote slideshow from one iOS device to another (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch). However, slides may take longer to appear on Keynote Remote when connected via Bluetooth. You cannot use Keynote Remote via Bluetooth with a Mac.
The following steps use Keynote Remote on an iPhone to control a Keynote presentation on an iPad via Bluetooth.
iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
iPad: Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth ON.
    iPad: Open a Keynote presentation.
iPhone: Open the Keynote Remote app. If you have previously paired your iPhone or iPad, you can immediately begin to control your slideshow from your iPhone by tapping Play Slideshow. If this is the first time pairing with these iOS devices, refer to the steps in "Linking Keynote Remote to Another iOS Device," above.
Note: If your iPhone displays the message "No connection available. Both devices must be connected to a Wi-Fi network or have Bluetooth turned on," continue with the steps above because you may still be able to use Keynote Remote with Bluetooth.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

I'm unable to get to iOS devices to connect via Bluetooth for Keynote control.  It's described above under the heading "Using Keynote Remote with Bluetooth".  Am I missing something?  I see the article mentions iOS8 so I know it's been updated recently.   I also see that this hasn't worked in the past.  Curious that the articles suggests it can be done now.
    I have 3 iOS devices all 8.1.1.

Just talked to Bose and learned the solution.
Reset the speaker ....hold down the bluetooth button until you hear a tone. Delete the Bose in the Bluetooth Device directory on the iPad. When it is automatically rediscovered it will connect.
    Worked for me .....

  • HT3325 Link keynote remote to iphone 5: not working

I'm trying to link my iphone 5 to Keynote on MBA via the keynote remote app, but my phone isn't showing up in the 'available remotes' menu in keynote preferences.
I've tried doing this via wifi and I created my own network like others have sugested. Still nothing.

Be sure you downloaded the right remote app there are several ... I use it all the time! Be sure to be in iPhone apps when searching for the app as it is not an iPad app. The Bluetooth setting needs to be on you do not need to create a network
Turn keynotes on, open your presentation up, open your  iPhone app remote and it will connect it right away

I excluded iphone from controls in Keynote. How I get it back on the list to use Keynote remote?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you haven't turned find my phone off on the device, it should just reappear next time it is connected to an appropriate network. If you have turned off find my phone, turn it back on.

  • HT3325 I am unable to get any version of Keynote Remote to link my devices except version 1.1!

Is anyone esle having this problem? I have an iPad 3, Keynote '09 and a MBP 2010.
I have tried loading Keynote Remote 1.3 (newest version) on several devices and NONE of them will link to my Keynote application on my MBP. I guess that would eliminate it down to being a laptop issue, but I've followed as many "fixes" as I can...Bluetooth, deleting certain preferences, starting with extensions off...etc. I'm out fo ideas.
Now when I reload version 1.1 of KNR on ANY of my devices (iPad, iPod Touch 2nd gen) it links up fine!
So...I'm down to wondering if there's something in 1.3 that is glitchy?

Use the serial number found in Settings > General > About

I've done it for you: It's iPhone 3G and not iPhone 3GS.

  • HT3325 I can't find Keynote Remote at the app store

I've gone to the App Store and can't find Keynote Remote available. Is it no longer used? Is there a replacement?

It is technically an iPhone, not iPad app (but should still work on the iPad, I believe). Search the app store for "Keynote Remote" and then change the view to iPhone Only (menu at top of screen).

  • Using Keynote Remote via Bluetooth - iPhone 4S + iPad 2

I have used Keynote remote quick happily on my old 3GS. Now I need to use Keynote remote on my iPhone 4S to control a Keynote presentation on my iPad.
WiFi is not an option, so I need to use Bluetooth.
Both devices are up to date and running iOS6
Activating iPad Bluetooth in settings, devices (eg Macbook, Apple keyboard) other than the iPhone appear on the iPad.
Activating Blutooth in settings on the iPhone discovers nothing. It is as if Bluetooth is not activating. The MacBook can't find the iPhone either.
I have rebooted both devices several times.
I have also tried to activate the pairing within Keynote remote - which just says no connection is available and says both devices must have bluetooth turned on.
    So.
    Am I being stupid here?
Or has Apple screwed up letting their very expensive and overpriced devices communicate with each other?

Hey I was having trouble with this too. I got it to work for me. I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 5. The fix for me was simple. Turn off WiFi for both your iPad and your iPhone. Turn on Bluetooth for both your iPad and your iPhone. Then KeyNote > Tools > Advanced > Remote. You don't have to do anything just have your Phone Remote app running and the bluetooh enabled when you hit remote on your iPad. They should find each other.
I've had to do this each time I use this function. There should we a way that you can just choose to use Bluetooth.

  • HT3325 Is there a reason Keynote Remote does not appear in the App store?

I'd like to use an iPad air for Keynote and other app presentations in the classroom. There are at least two Apple docs that refer to Keynote Remote on the app store and they have been updated as recently as August 2013. I can't find the app for either Macs or iPads.
What is the best way to use an iPad for classroom or other presentations?
Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you

To my knowlege, there isn't one for OS X. The iOS app is listed as an iPhone app. Open the App Store, type Keynote Remote in to the search field. when the results display, tap iPad Only on teh top menu and select iPhone only. You should see it. It is optimized for the iPhone but should work on the iPad.
However, you necessarily need this app to display Keynote presentations via projector of TV.
