HT3477 Apple's instructions do not work for me when I try to create a Guest Network.

  Here is what happens: The "Set Up a Guest Network" instructions do not work. Step 3, "Click Wireless and then select Enable Guest Network" leads me to  "Create a Wireless Network."
If I click on that, it leads me to create a substitute for my primary network, leaving  me with no second option that I can designate for users.  In other words, my "Guest Network" replaces my primary network.  Something in both the Airport Express manual, and in Apple's online Support comments does not jibe with what the Utility is asking me to do. 

Progress is welcome, once I fully understand what it is that I need to do.  I have several questions.  First, I guess, has to do with making the Express unit the replacement for the D-Router.   As it stands, now, I have the Express unit in the next room, where it is somewhat removed from interference. 
The D-Router has abundant Ethernet sockets to serve the computers and drives connected to one another in close proximity in the office.  The Express has one open Ethernet socket.  Therefore, I don't see how I can use the Express in lieu of the D-Router.   Do you disagree?
How would the Ethernet switch that you mentioned work with the Comcast modem and the Express?  What would I need to know about connecting them, defining them to the computer, to each other, etc.? 
Connectivity is largely a foreign language to me, so it would help to have information about guides, manuals, etc., that could walk a relative ignoramus through the process of getting them to work well together.  Can you suggest any such sources? 
Also, is there an Ethernet switch that you would recommend?

    Try perform below steps.
    Open task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc  keys. Click on more details if the option available.
    Then end all Adobe related processes, including Creative Cloud and Coresync ( if running )
    Then hold windows key on your keyboard and Press R key.
    It will open Run window
    In Run window, type Appdata and click on Ok
    Open Local > Adobe folders
    Delete AAMUpdater and OOBE folders
    Then navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    Delete Adobe Application Manager and OOBE folders
    Go back to Program Files (x86) and Open Adobe folder
    Try deleting Adobe Creative Cloud folder, if it is not allowing rename it to Adobe Creative Cloudold
    Download and install Creative Cloud App from below link

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    It's been a while but it should work on a Mac because Macs can read Windows formatted devices. Otherwise, you can perform a restore operation to return it to the Mac format. If you go to support.apple.com/manuals/ you can find a copy of the user manual for the model you have in which this is all explained.

    It happened now already several times the the "Online TV Listing" does not show HD listing for series when I try to create a recording. Instead, it will show two series options in SD. Is this to make people use less bandwidth?

    But there is the same on channel 690 HD!
    This happens not only to this particular channel!
    I remember it used to show also the HD channels.
    The only way to schedule in HD is to find the listing in the TV schedule, at the right time and there you will get the
    correct choices for both SD & HD.
    Can this be fixed?

    I have an Apple ID and password, yet it will not work to log into ICloud or for updates on my Mac. My computer is only 1.5 years old. Also, I continually get a pop-up that I need to create a password for Safari, but if I do not hit "cancel" I will have lose all Keychain passwords.
    All of this started with the download of Mavericks, which was a BIG mistake.

  • Apple usb wired keyboard not working for MBP pro w/ 0 for stop on numeric k

    Just got logic 8 and noticing that it does load up quicker with the new os update.
    I'm going through the first getting started manual and I have a apple usb keyboard attached to my mac book pro.
    When I press 0 on the numeric keypad it doesn't stop the sequencer it just plays this soft like error sound or something. space bar works for stop however.
    Am I in the correct mode or what not? when I press 1, 3, 6 the views change, if there are different modes for the numeric keypad.
    I need to get that 0 key working for stop as it says in the first getting started manual on page 18 under "To start and stop playback:"

    The zero button doesn't work for screensets - there are no screensets with a zero in (ie, it goes from 9 to 11, there is no 10).
    If you want your zero key to do something, use the key commands window to assign it to whatever you like.

    What happens, exactly? Did you contact the developer to find out if the program is even compatible with the version of OS X you are running?

    I apologized for my earlier comments.  They were written out of frustration.  Yes, I was entirely out of line.  It's exceedingly frustrating not having Flash Player capability.  As with many things in life, you don't appreciate what you have until you no longer have it.  I no longer have access to news clips, Youtube, etc. etc., and I haven't had access in weeks.  There is an online ATV safety course that two of my kids need to take.  Yesterday, I opened the link to the course; guess what, the online safety course requires Flash Player.  AAAAHHHHH!!!!!  More frustration.  My kids will have to go to someone else's house or to the local library in order to (hopefully) be able to take to the safety course.  I've already resigned myself to the fact that I will no longer be able to use Flash Player (unless of course Adobe releases another version that installs/runs properly).  What exactly do you mean by Adobe is "generally aware" of installation issues?  It's not as if these problems have only occurred over the last few days and weeks; it's been many months.  Surely Adobe must know that tens of thousands if not millions of people are unable to use Flash Player.  Your mentioning that Adobe is expecting to fix installation issues "incrementally" doesn't sound as if this problem will be resolved anytime soon.  If my company fixed customer's problems incrementally, we would no longer have customers.  Is this Flash Player problem due to such a major glitch (or glitches) that it's going to take Adobe a long time to find the root cause of the problem(s) and a long time to rectify it?  Are there any other options for the many folks like me who are dead in the water in relation to Flash Player?  I would be interested in finding out if there are any alternatives.  I can't afford it right now, but is my only option to buy a new computer that already has Flash Player installed?

    I cannot receive or send mails.The server is not accepting may password that is a valid apple ID. The system gives automatically a server for incoming mails:
    p99-imap.mail.me.com. Is this correct? Has someone an idea what I can do?

    Does your AppleID end in @me.com or @mac.com? Those are the only ones that can be used for email.
    If it does, try resetting the password at http://appleid.apple.com/ and/or deleting and manually re-adding the account using "imap.mail.me.com" as the incoming mail server.

    Contact the email provider.
    Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).
    This all assumes that you have a working data connection.
