Why can't I send a text message to more than one contact?

With all my previous cell phones I was able to send a single text message to more than one contact. With the iPhone I can only send to one contact and then I have to type the text message again and send to another contact, and so on. Or am I messing a fuction on the iPhone that allows for sending a text message to more than one contact?

No, you are not missing it. That feature is not available on the iPhone.

Well, I was typing up a solution for ya and decided to test it to see if it still worked, but apparently it doesnt, at least not with cingular/at&t. You used to be able to send text messages to people via e-mail by using their [email protected] The syntax might have changed. I would check into this and see if it's available for AT&T still and for the networks the other people you want to text at the same time are using. Add that as the person's e-mail address in your contact list and just e-mail them all at the same time on the iphone.

I'm most likely missing something very obvious here, but I cannot figure out how to add a second (or more) recipient in the To: field for a text message. I can add, select the first recipient, delete etc. but can't figure out how to add another.

I have been trying to send a video message to two or three people on my contact list. Is it possible to do this by adding a name to the list on the message or can I send the same message to a second person after sending it to the first? Or do I have to record a second and third message, if I want to send it to 2 or 3 people on my contact list?

I have a Serversocket socket class which is waiting for connections at a static port. The following code creates the ServerSocket:
ServerSocket servsock = new ServerSocket(port);
Then Im wating for clients to access to the server. I do it in a while loop like this:
while(true){
client = servsock.accept();
System.out.println("New client connected");
After that a put the connected client to e "Temp" variable:
Socket temp = client;
Then I Start a new Thread for that client and put it in a Vector:
Thread v = new Thread (new Visitor(temp,this);
visitor.add(v);
v.start();
} //end of while loop
The class Visitor implements Runnable and have the constructor:
public Visitor(Socket sss, MyServer server){
s= sss;
In the run method I create the output and input streams like this:
OutputStream outStream           = s.getOutputStream();
PrintWriter out               = new PrintWriter(outStream,true);
InputStream instream           = s.getInputStream();
BufferedReader appletIn      = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(instream));
After that Im Starting to Listen in a While loop:
String line = appletIn.readLine();
Now to my question: I want to send this "line" to all connected sockets using my vector visitors in my Server class.
Can I have a method call in my Visitor class that call a method in my Server class? And how can I Iterate over all the elements in the Visitor and in each loop send a outStream to that connected socket?

To send data from the from input stream to the output stream of multiple other sockets, you need to read data from the input stream, then send the same data to each of the output streams.

How to allow access to my airport extreme network for more than one wirelss device at the same time

I received a Kobo Vox ereader for Christmas and have not been able to connect to my home wireless network. It works with unsecured networks and I tested it out at an Apple reseller with their airport extreme netwok and it connects fine.
It seems as if I cannot have more than one wireless device connected to my home netork at the same time.
So here is what I did to test this out:
- I powered off the Kobo vox
- I shut down my macbook
- I turned off the modem and unplugged the power cord and removed the cable connection from the modem.
- I also unplugged the airport extreme router.
- I waited for about 15 minutes and then set it all up again and turned on the power to the router and the modem
- I turned on the kobo vox (I left my laptop shut down)
- my kobo vox was able to connected to the internet.
- I powered up my laptop and it couldn't connect to the internet.
So, I went through the above steps again and powered up my laptop first and was able to connect to the internet. I then turned on my Kobo and was not able to connect.
It seems as if I can only have one device connected to my wireless network at one time and that device is the first one to be powered on and connected to the internet.
Am I missing some network or airport extreme settings...

Try the following on your Mac.....
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Manual Setup
Click the Internet icon
Click the Internet Connection tab
Change the setting for Connection Sharing to read Share a public IP address
Click Update

Why can't people send a text message tou my new iPad phone number? I just got this iPad for my birthday and my wife has secretly told everyone the new number to send text messages to as a surprise when I onpened it... but none came through.

Only individuals with iOS devices can message you and they must message you via the email address(es) associated with your Apple ID.
They cannot message a phone number unless you have an iPhone associated with the account.
