HT3529 I am no longer using an iPhone, how do i disable iMessage?

I am no longer using an iPhone, how do i disable iMessage? I have already reset the iPhone back to factory defaults but when iPhone users text me it goes to iMessage and i do not receive the texts.

Only two ways I know of: 1. Put your sim back in the iPhone & turn iMessage off, or 2. If you registered your phone online with Apple, & setup a support profile, delete the phone from your profile.

I no longer have the IPhone, how do I disconnect the IMessage so I can get my text message on my new Samsung Galaxy S III

You don't have to disconnect your iPhone from iMessage to get text messages on your phone. Other people can use your phone number to reach you with texts.

  • I no longer have my iphone and need to turn imessage off

i no longer own an iphone and need to turn imessage off but i no longer have the phone at all so i cant turn it off myself

If youv'e ever called them they should have it on file. If you haven't call your carrier first and tell them that you need imessage turned off but don't have the imei number for the old iphone and ask if they still have it. Once you get it you can call apple and give them that number or have your carrier just route you straight to them.

  • June 10 2012 Firefox automatically updated itself (no choice) on my Intel Mac/Tiger 10.4.11. Can no longer use Firefox, so how do I get back the old one?

June 10 2012 Firefox automatically updated itself (no choice) on my Intel Mac/Tiger 10.4.11. I can no longer use Firefox. I have an old version of Firefox on my Mac G4, but am scared to use that machine in case that Firefox also automatically updates itself. How can I transfer a copy of that older version of Firefox (from the G4) to the Intel Mac, and how do I stop both versions from then automatically updating? How do I then remove the updated version of Firefox from the Intel Mac, which I cannot use? Thank you for your help.

esqki FF update to 13 and now you can't open ? sorry about that.
    1. Download (with your safari) a copy of the latest (3.6.28) from your 10.4.11 mac
    from
    ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.28/mac/
    2. '''Trash''' the current Firefox application to do a clean install.
    3. Install the version that you have downloaded (3.6.28).
Do not select to remove your personal data, your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks or other personal data.
see also: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-mac?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Installing+Firefox+on+Mac Installing Firefox on Mac]
after install the 3.6.28 version go to: Options > Advanced > Update tab > Firefox updates, check mark '''Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)''', click Ok to save it, exit firefox and restart it.

  • IPad is no longer synced to iPhone and will not send iMessages

The first thing that happened after the upgrade to iOS 8 was the iPad and iPhone was no longer synced for iMessages. I have an iPhone 4 (no iOS 8 for that phone). After one month of this issue, my iPad is now not sending any iMessages unless I go through email.

    Hey emfgsc,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with iMessage across your iOS devices. The following resource outlines troubleshooting information that you may find helpful:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
If you aren't receiving iMessages across all iOS devices
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each iOS device and make sure that you signed in with your Apple ID. You must use the same Apple ID on each device.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By iMessage At and make sure that you selected each phone number and email address you want to use with iMessage.
If you linked a phone number to your Apple ID with iMessage and the phone number hasn't appeared, follow these steps.
Sign out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and Settings > FaceTime on all devices.
If you're linking a phone number to an Apple ID, sign in to iMessage on your iPhone first. Then sign in to the rest of your device one by one with iMessage and FaceTime.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • How do i disable iMessage for a single contact who no longer has an iPhone?

I have a contact who has switched from an iPhone to a Galaxy and my default messaging is iMessage.  In order to get a message to send to her, I have to send the message, then manually resend it as a text message.  Is there a good way to permanently change this so that the default for this contact is no longer iMessage?

I'm looking for a solution on my end that does not require action by the other person.  The person has deregistered from imessage pursuant to Apple's suggestions (http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS5185).  However, the problem remains.  I've deleted the contact from my phone and reentered as not an iphone, and I still cannot text them.  Apple's policy/practice is hindering the use of another company's product.
Here's where I have a problem with it: (1) The average user doesn't know he has to actively opt out of a service that he didn't actively opt into; (2) it strikes me as a policy that discourages a consumer's free choice (to stop using apple products) by imposing undue and overly burdensome steps to using the full services of another--totally unrelated--company unfettered by some obscure lingering roadblock imposed through a previous business relationship; (3) although Apple offers a service (which did not work in our case), the average user is probably unaware, and therefore, the person who switched services does not necessarily realize that others cannot contact them despite their efforts; and (4) I assume and hope that the 'great minds' at Apple can figure out how to automatically opt non-users out of the imessage service just as it automatically opts in users.
I did not mean insane in the literal sense, more the colloquial.  However, I did mean unconscionable.  Without going into extensive detail of any number of reasonable hypothetical situations, what if there was an emergency and the person who purchased new services from another company is unable to receive an emergency message?  Say they were unable to receive a phone call because they are in and out of service coverage areas and the only chance of reaching them with an emergency message is via text that will go through when they briefly enter a coverage area?  That, in my opinion, is an example of how this is an unconscionable business practice.

  • I no longer have my iphone. how can I delete my iTunes account

How can I delete my iTunes account if I no longer have my iphone

You can't as such. If you have a credit card entered that you wish to remove, just go into the account settings through iTunes and choose "none" for the Payment Method:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1918
Then you can just stop using the account, if you no longer wish to buy music or other content for use on your computer.

  • How can I disable iMessage notifications on iPhone while using Messages beta on Mac?

Hi all! I'm very excited about the new Messages app on my Mac, which allows iMessage between Macs and i devices! Just downloaded it right now and it's excellent! However, I notice a possible flaw in which whenever I receive a message from someone, it will notify me on both my Mac AND my iPhone! As you might imagine, it's pretty annoying given iMessages are flying through on my Mac. I was wondering if anyone knows how to stop iPhone notifications when messaging on Mac. I hope this feature will be added in ASAP from Apple if it doesn't exist yet! Thanks in advance!

You would have to turn it off on the phone. Read receipts as referenced above is not related to your question at all.
I don't find it to be too irritating, but I don't message frequenly enough for it to get all that annoying.

  • Since I have synced my contacts with Hotmail, I can no longer use relationships. How can I get this back without having to set up another email account?

I am currently using Hotmail with syncing enabled for mail and contacts. However, I cannot find or add the fields for family members or any relationship other than manager and assistant. I cannot add the fields manually, nor can I get Siri to assign the proper relationship to the right person (everyone defaults to manager or assistant).
I'd really prefer not to have to use a different email address just to be able to use the phone; however, up until I synced the accounts I was able to edit relationships. Can anyone help me out?

This is a limit with an Exchange account.

  • How can I disable iMessage on my phone number now that I don't have an iPhone?

I transfered my number to an iPhone for about 3 months. Now I'm on a different phone with the same number. Every time an iPhone user tries to send me a text/SMS message, it's sent via iMessage and I never receive it.
I've removed the phone number from my Apple Support account. iPhone users still default to sending me iMessages. iPhone users can manually choose to send me SMS and I will receive the message. I receive text/SMS from every other type of phone on every carrier without fail.
How can I get my number out of the iPhone/iMessage system entirely?

    Go to https://supportprofile.apple.com
Log in with your Apple ID and password.
Select the product you need to de-register (your iPhone, for example).
    Click Unregister

if i had all of my photos and contacts backed up on my apple account, but no longer have my iphone how do i recover them?

Your question topic says you have all your photos backed up in iTunes. If so they are on your computer. When you get your new phone you can sync those photos from your computer to your phone.
