HT3529 Links removed from messages to iPhone

I dragged and dropped a URL from Safari (MAC) to Messages (MAC) and sent it to a friend (iPhone).
My Messages(MAC) showed the link, and I could click on the link and the website would pop-up in Safari.  (as expected).
However, my friend's iPhone did not see it as a link... just the title of the web page, so clicking on the title didn't take you to that web page.
Very odd.  In Messages, you can see what you sent, I I see it as a link on my Apple Mac Messages.
But my friend receives that same message in Apple iPhone Messages as just a title (not a link).
Why would the link not show up on the iPhone?
Why would Messages on iPhone behave so differently than Messages on OS X?
For the record, my friend's phone is a 5S, with the latest firmware.

    for the       Points.
For Others.
The "Sync" as Apple calls the function between iOS devices and Macs using the same Apple ID and Linked iPhone numbers is "Display on All Devices" and not anything more.
This means if you delete it in one place it is not deleted elsewhere.
And as the original Poster has found it it does not "sync back" any Conversations you delete.
I have sent iPhone iMessages on a Friday evening and then started my Mac on a Sunday evening and Messages has "caught up" the conversation.
I presume that it might do Friday to Monday (or any 3 days) although I have not tested this.

  • How do I remove previous device from iCloud account? (It is removed from Find My iPhone and iCloud Backup)

I recently got a new iPhone and traded in my old one. At the store, the representatives erased the contents and settings of the old phone (though they did run into some difficulties because of a pre-installed profile and I think were successful after a few attempts) and removed the SIM card. However, the old device keeps showing up on my iCloud account. I removed it from Find My iPhone and deleted the stored backup for the phone, but it's still there. I've talked with Apple Support about it as well as called the store on what I should do. Apple cannot remove the device on my account for me (which is fair), but I think it's strange that I can't remove my own device either. It won't give me any option to.
The Apple people reassure me not to worry and that everything is probably "fine", but I don't like this uneasy feeling that my iCloud account (and who knows what other data) might have an open connection or hole somewhere that I'm not aware about.
    Please help!

Some people I've talked to speculated (but could not confirm) that this "glitch" would be fixed once someone registered their own iCloud account to the old device; this would force the old device to be removed from my iCloud account and transferred to the new user. How long have you been experiencing this "glitch"? I'm guessing if Apple calls it a glitch on iCloud, it won't be fixed any time soon...

  • Messages filed into folders are not removed from message folder

I have a client that has been able to file messages into his folders in the past and then the message would then be removed from the messages view. This would be the expected behavior. Recently he tried to file messages into a folder and then the message turns into a double envelope indicating that the message has been filed but it does not get removed from the view. Any clues to why this might happen?

Sounds like the Hide Filed Messages is set to No. Have them go into Messages | Options | General Options and set the Hide Filed Messages to Yes

  • Exporting texts/SMSs from "Messages" on iPhone

I am looking to export a long list of messages from my iPhone to my computer to be saved for later viewing. I am wondering if anyone know how, or has had any experience of successfully doing so. Any pointers, or even just how to do it would be great!

We use the decipher text message software at our small law firm since we are required to save (and print out) sms chats with our clients. Meanwhile, I never knew "option key" + go menu would make that hidden library show up!

  • Has 'Share with Theater' been removed from Messages?

Doesn't seem to be working any more from the Mavericks end, but still working from Mountain Lion to Mavericks. Odd. Is there a setting I'm missing?

    Hi,
    Me too.
Although I started with Showmacster which was for Older  versions of iChat (up to Leopard/iChat 4.x.x)
The main Site has gone and only these Download archives exist.
Like many things Apple then incorporated an idea that was out there into the app.

  • Stolen Macbook has been removed from Find My iPhone.

My computer was stolen and I locked it through the iCloud feature.  Now, I'm unable to see under the listed devices.
Is there a way to unregister a locked macbook from iCloud? Or has the disk been replaced/formatted.
I'm concerned about the data that was on there.
    Thanks.

    What type of account?

  • Stolen iPad removed from find my iPhone list. Now what?

    See above

If the device is still setup with the Find my... service on it, it will automatically re-appear the next time the device connects to the Internet.
If not, and the device has been wiped or wasn't protected with a passcode and the Find service deactivated, there's nothing you can do.

  • Deleted message not removed from iPhone Inbox

Since updating my iPhone 3G to 4.01 I have found that when I delete messages from the inbox the messages are not completely removed from the inbox. I am left with a blank unread message. The only way I can completely delete is to turn the phone off and restart. Is anybody else having this problem? I have also found that I lose service in places I have been able to use the phone.

  • Messages not removed from Inbox when deleted on iphone

My company has an exchange based mail system and they provide imap access for devices like the iphone.
I set up the iphone to connect to the server and can read messages just fine. I set the Deleted items option in the Settings app for Mail to be the Deleted Items folder on the server.
When I delete the messages on the iphone this is what happens:
    1) The message disappears from the Inbox on the phone.
    2) The message appears in the Trash on the phone.
    3) The message appears in the Deleted Items folder on the server (as viewed from my normal work computer).
    4) The message stays in the Inbox folder on the server.
So, in sum, things do what they are supposed to do on the phone. On the server, I wind up with 2 copies of the same message - one in Inbox and one in Deleted Items.
I will point out that the same behavior occurs when I try to move an item from any folder to any other from the iphone. The message winds up in both the original and the target folders....
What do I need to do to set it up so that messages are removed from the originating folder on a delete or move?
    Thanks

    Sounds like typical POP behavior.
Is your mail account POP or IMAP?
If POP, then your mail activities are normal, that's how POP operates.
If it's IMAP, contact your server admin, as IMAP should be reflecting all activity across all devices with that specific account on it.

  • I recently had to get my iPhone 4s replaced.  The old phone was backed up to ICloud.  I get a message when I plug this one in that it is not backed up and there isn't enough storage left to back it up. How to I remove from the other phone so I can back th

I am trying to back up my new Iphone on to ICloud.  It shows I dont have enough storage because it still has stuff from the old IPhone.  How can I back up this phone and erase from the other.  Apple kept the other phone when they replaced it.  If I hit the delete storage for the other phone (which shows up on the Icloud Icon on this phone) will I lose everything on this phone?  That's what I want to avoid....

If it's corrupt, generally it would be lost.
However, there is third-party software out there that can retrieve some of the data, those of which however I could not recommend as I have never done so myself.
Also, if the old 4S was running a more recent software version than the current 4S, that may cause the issue however usually iTunes tells you exactly that.
Good luck in retrieving that information.

  • How do I fix and error message telling me Firefox can't connect to a viable site I've not had issues with in the past (via links sent from the site)?

This is the message I receive when I attempt to use links within email messages sent to me by a specific number of vendors: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at vogueknitting.us2.list-manage1.com."
I started getting this message when I tried to use links sent to me via one specific vendor, "Little Knits". I've tried to update plugins and other vulnerabilities FireFox/Mozilla identified and now I'm getting the message when I attempt links from other website email messages with links such as the Vogue Knitting website. I have a feeling the issue is somehow linked to Mozilla and some blocking features. Could you please help.
I'm using my laptop PC at home, Windows 7, everything appears to be "updated", Time Warner Internet provider......

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
