When I send a message on MESSAGES using my iPad2, they do not show up on my iPhone or my MacBook Mountain Lion messages. Did I miss a setting on any of the devices as I thought iCloud took care of syncing all of my devices
The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. Try closing any running instances of ''firefox.exe'' (and plugincontainer.exe) using something such as Task Manager. That should allow you to then restart Firefox.
As for iLivid. Possibly it also has associated apps or extensions with names not including the word iLivid. Looking at their own FAQs there are instructions to remove iLivid using the Windows Control panel, and mention of other bundled software that you may wish to remove. It seems it is more of a nuisacne rahter than out and out malware.
* see http://www.ilivid.com/faq.htm (page scrolls for more info) but includes:
How do I uninstall the software?
The software can be removed in a simple was like any other software:
Go to the Windows Start menu and then to Control Panel > Add/Remove ("Programs & Features" in Vista & Windows 7) and click "Remove" next to the software name (e.g iLivid Download manager / Windows iLivid Toolbar ).
During the installation bundle software are offered, each can easily be removed following those instructions: Uninstall Yontoo Addon , Uninstall Search Toolbar (powered by Bing) or Uninstall Babylon. -
my computer updated to firefox 9. update was ok, but now when i click on the "home" icon, i get an alert that the url is not valid and cannot be loaded. everything is good to go as far as web surfing and so forth, but i want the firefox start page as my home page. also the private browsing option won't work because of the invalid url.
Hi ozzie427,
What URL do you have bookmarked as your home page? You might want to look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. There are steps in there to restore the home page to default. I would try that first to see if it clears up any strangeness. If that works, you can set the home page to anything you like.
Hopefully this helps! -
I can't get the internet to open and when you click on the icon to open firefox the above message is displayed and I don't know how to fix what is causing the error.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -

I just downloaded the newest update for mountain lion. After downloading any restarting for installation, I got a message stating that the update cannot be installed due to an error. Yet when I check I have version 10..8.3 and safari version 6.0.3, which the update was for. Does this mean that the update is iinstalled and the message was incorrect?

I just bought the Imac on Monday, which was placed on the shelf on Saturday. Its now Thursday and I have to update the machine. Heck I haven't even bought the printer or the new desk for all this stuff....ha ha.
Good timing! Oh well, at least you shouldn't have to update again for a while. It will be nice kickstarting your Mac with the very latest System Update knowing any hiccups from 10.8.2 would have been ironed out if they were going to affect your workflow at all.
Cheers and Happy Computing

How do I fix Mountain Lion issue after login where Keychain Access attempts to open, hanging up with "application not responding" message?
You could try booting into Safe Mode to see if that will help. And "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility.
Have you got Keychain set to open on Login or is it attempting to open on it's own. -
Resizing Mountain Lion Partition after doing CLEAN Install
How do you resize the Mountain Lion partition to take up the majority of disk space? I'm happy with ML and want to use it as my *Primary* instead of Lion. I can't figure out how to increase the ML partition but still keep a small partition dedicated to Lion incase anything ever goes wrong with ML. HELP!!!!

more than like likely you will need to reinstall the OS X by holding down command + R when the computer starts.
Hello Carlo,
Thanks for your second response. However, I think it won't be of much help since essentially, I will be downloading the same 10.8.2 installer available from the Mac App Store which more than likely will have the same long shutdown issue. I think this is more of a problem with OS X 10.8.2 given that I did not experience this issue with OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 (GM Build 12A269) which also was released on the Mac App Store.
In addition, I am backing up my findings due to the fact that a good amount of users are experiencing long shutdown times after installing the OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 update:

New Mac -Mountain Lion - Messages- Empty buddy list
Hi Everyone,
Got a new Macbook air that I updated straigt to Mountain Lion before opening any software.
Everything is syncked happily under the Icloud, but with "Messages" replacing Ichat, I endup with an empty Buddy list.
Any reason why AIM and .Mac buddys are not imported ?
Thanks
SophiaHi,
IN the Window menu do you have an item for "Buddies" with the CMD + 1 keystrokes listed ?
IF so go to Messages > Preferences > General section and untick the item that Gathers the "Accounts" to one list.
Now from the Window Menu you should have individual CMD + # keystrokes listed fro as many Account (Screen Names and IDs) as are logged in.
Can you see them ?

OSX Mountain Lion "Messages" will not let me sign in...
I cannot for the life of me get messages to work on the new OSX mountain lion. I keep getting this alert when trying to sign in:
"COULD NOT SIGN INTO iMESSAGE. The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later."
Any ideas? I have restarted both my macbook and macpro, reset my apple ID password... no love.I have spent over 40 hour walking through this issue with Apple senior tier engineering support with Apple for Mountain Lion and Developer support, plus the Apple store genius bar and their high level connection, Getting no where trying to resolve same issue it seems. The only thing I can get to work is AIM to video chat or share screens. Messages accounts have added 5 other account .mac accounts and I can not sign into any of them or remove any of them either. Over time I have had a .mac address that was made into a mobile me address that was then converted into a .mac email again and became a cloud account. And I have a developer account that has a separate name that works with iTunes connect. When I try to manage accounts to change the password of one it corrupts the the password of the other. When I try the change emails of one it says it is in use by the other.
There are 2 accounts for the iTunes and App Store.
Messages is choking on my 2 accounts and there is a definite unresolved problem with the cloud in regard to them it seems. -
Mountain Lion Messages won't connect / go online
For the last few days Mountain Lion Messages won't connect / go online. Prior to that it would disconnec at random and it would be difficult to make it connect again. But now it's totally refusing to go online.
I solved the problem, with the help of a friend!
Turns out, even though Messages in Mountain Lion won't prompt you about this in any way, there is a difference between your @mac.com email and your @me.com email.
Messages on Mountain Lion has an iChat built in, but is actually at the same time a new protocol which does not use AIM like iChat. So, it's both AIM iChat and something new.
As soon as I added a new account inside Messages on Mountain Lion with @me.com I could reconnect and all is fine.
Apple, this is a lot less obvious to the end user than you might think. You have switched online services a few time and it always gets better and better. But Messages in Mountain Lion should prompt the user to add the @me.com address if this is required to use the software! -
While downloading my purchased Mac OSX mountain Lion - message 'an error occurred' waht do I do next?
Try downloading it in safe mode. Hold the Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode, and then, open App Store > Purchases, and download Mountain Lion.
