Forward a message as an email?

In the conversation thread, tap the Edit button in the upper right. Select the message you want to foward. Tap the "Forward" button in the lower right. Type the email address in the "To:" box. Tap send.

You can have a different receiving email in the Messages app on each device : Settings > Messages > Receive At . I'm not sure that there is a different way to have the message only go to one device.

Some thoughts:
I wanted to make sure you knew that you didn't have to change the SMTP Server name just to send e-mail to a Yahoo e-mail address. You can stick with your corporate SMTP server and send e-mail to any valid address, assuming your company firewall isn't configured to block e-mail to addresses outside the company.
If you changed the SMTP server name because you are now trying to send the e-mail from somewhere that doesn't have access to your corporate SMTP server, then there are several issues. First, any public SMTP server that doesn't require user authentication will instead do something else (like look at your IP address) to determine whether or not it will allow you to send the e-mail. Otherwise, spammers would saturate the server with SMTP requests for as long as it remained available.
Assuming you're trying to use a server that will allow you to use it, are you sure you got the right server name? You should double-check that.
Finally, it may be that your SMTP server requires user authentication. Yahoo's public ones certainly do; see the Yahoo Help Page on this (http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-11.html). If this is the case, you may be able to use some alternative VIs created by Rolf Kalbermatter to get the job done, though you should be aware that it could be dangerous to do so. See this thread.

This sounds like a known issue reported here:

There was a workaround posted, but I've not tested it myself. Here are the steps.
# Go into Yahoo Messenger Options - Change the Window in the dropdown to Tab and press OK.
# Then go back and switch it to small window and press OK.
The bug has already been fixed. So you can download the FF 10 beta if it is a really important feature for you.

Verizon is not doing that it is the mail that is doing that.
Check your device settings for email and read the owners manual as to how to set up mail to download. How you want it, leave on server, etc.

Go to settings/messages and make sure you have send as SMS turned on. Then in send & receive make sure your phone number appears there. When sending messages while you are connected by wifi it will go view imessage

Do you have that person blocked? Set to Do Not Disturb (Open the conversation thread, tap Details in the upper right, check that DND is set to Off)?

I understand that you are receiving a prompt for an old Apple ID when attempting an update. You cant attempt to reset that password for the Apple ID via the steps in the first article below. If you need assistance with this or are not receiving the email, see the second attached article. You can also delete the applications in question and download them again with your new Apple ID. However, this will cause any application data in those applications to be deleted and you may be charged if these are paid for applications.

Make sure your number is checked.
Also if you reply to an iMessage sent to one of the email addresses listed in Settings->Messages->Send & Receive->You can be reached by iMessage at,
you'll answer by default from that address.

Friends say when i text them (they also use imessage) it says im sending the message from my email.

and when i go to receive at> caller id and select my phone number they still say its from my email. what do i do??

One solution would be to have those friends add that email adress to your contact info on their devices.

HT3529 Question regarding sending a text message to an email address

I have an Iphone #G. I am using Tmobile service on it. If I send a message (in my text messages, not email account) to an email address, it looks like a text message when I send it but their reply, looks like an email to me ([email protected]), and it always includes my original message with their reply.
How can I make my messages that come to my email ([email protected]) resemble a text message like they do when I send the message to an email account. Is this a setting that can be adjusted?

Can't send a text message to their phone number. They don't have texting - they only do emails. So I have to send my message to their email address.

I am trying to send a message to someone's ipod touch and it keeps saying the person is unavailable by imessage at this time. however I was able to reach this person yesterday. She did an apple id change yesterday and since then I can not message her. I can facetime her and email her but I can not message her. On her ipod touch it shows when I am typing and I can receive her messages but she can not receive mine. Other people in my family tested their messages and they are able to reach her but not me. Is there something wrong on my end?

I tried that. Did not work. When I try to add her to message her it turns green and at the top it says new mms and then it sends my message to her email not to her ipod touch as an imessage.
