When installing iOS 5, the iPhone is backed up first (which does not include any iTunes content including 3rd party apps) followed by being completely erased before iOS 5 is installed. This is followed by the backup being restored and all iTunes content in your iTunes library that is selected to be transferred to your iPhone being re-transferred.
If the app is in your iTunes library, you shouldn't lose it, but since this app was downloaded with your friend's iTunes account, I'm not sure how the app wll be re-transferred unless your computer is also authorized with your friend's iTunes account with iTunes.

Is the difference the device you're creating your app on, or for?iOS Developer Program is only for those who wish to develop iDevice apps. Mac program is for those only developing Mac applications. If you wish to do both, then you need to enroll in both programs.

I can not update my installed apps from the App Store Update page. I can individually update from the App Store Purchased page. I tried a soft reset but still unable. Any suggestions?
You are doing all that you cn do right now other than to update the apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.
There has been a problem with the App Store updates tab for a few days now and we are all waiting for Apple to fix it.
Look at all of the discussions on the iPad forum that are talking about this right now. -

The time has not been announced. All Apple says is pre-orders start Friday, Sept 12 and in-store availability will be Friday, Sept 19. A good guess would be either after midnight Sept 12 Cupertino, CA time, or time based on UTC. In the past, in the US it has b been Midnight Cupertino, CA time.

However, if you still want to update and assuming you have iOS 4.3 as your tag line suggests. You'll need to connect your iPad to a Computer running iTunes (Can be a Mac or a Pc doesn't matter) and follow the update prompts.

Also depending on what generation iPad you have you may only be able to update as far as iOS 5.1.
If your iPad does not have camera its a first generation iPad, and can only be updated to iOS 5.1.
If it does have a camera it will go all the way up to iOS 7.3 -

After doing as stedman1 suggests, go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom and turn zoom off if it is turned on so it does not happen again.

It says in the corner of my itunes account that i still have money from my itunes card that i redeemed, but when i try to buy a song, the billing info. pops up. Why can't i use the money on my card?
It is simply asking you to verify your account info. Select None for the CC.
It will still pay with your gift card balance. -
TS3048 what if keyboard won't link up and you can"t get past the grey start screen?

You need to contact iTunes Store Support. We are just other users like yourself. Go here and click on Purchases, Billing and Redemption, then click on Unable to Purchase from iTunes Store.
