HT3563 How do I change a bluetooth profile on my macbook pro from headset to headphone (a2dp) audio only so it will not conflict in my multipoint stereo headset shared with my iphone.

I have a LG HBS-700 bluetooth stereo headset and "in order to access Multi-Connection mode, at least one of the two devices you are trying to connect to the HBS-700 must be able to select a profile, OR one of the two devices must only support one profile (Either Headset/Hands-Free or A2DP/AVRCP). For example: Two handsets which support both the Headset/Hands-Free and A2DP/AVRCP profiles cannot be connected to the HBS-700 simultaneously. But, one handset supporting Headset/Hands-Free/A2DP/AVRCP and a Bluetooth Stereo Dongle supporting only A2DP/AVRCP is OK".

Backup your computer. You may have to replace the HD.
Try repairing  disk.

Courlcoul, greetings friend;  May I point out that it is Language & Text (singular not plural).  Three demerit points for providing inaccurate information.  (More donkey humor)

No, you should not.  There are problems trying to go the other way, but updating a newer iOS release from a backup of an older iOS release has always been supported and is the basic means of setting up a new device from a previous one.

  • Hi I have been given a  two year old MacBook pro and have downloaded the latest up dates but safari will not open. Any suggestions how to fix this would be appreciatedpro.

    Hi
I have been given a MacBook Pro and have downloaded all the recent updates.
    Safari will not open.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be appreciated
    Regards
    lb6301

OK, the only thing that I can suggest at this point is to take the machine to your local Apple Store and have them download and install the latest version of Safari. It's likely something that they'll do for free if you get a nice Genius...
I don't know what I was thinking about - finely figured out that you MUST have an iOS or other device!
Sorry we couldn't solve the problem... hopefully, you've a nearby Apple Store? Or an AASP?

  • How do I change a user id on a macbook pro?

I originally used my user id and password when I set-up my girlfriend's new 13" MacBook Pro. How would I change that and set-up her own Apple ID
    and password?

    jje,
if your Apple ID is currently associated with your girlfriend’s MacBook Pro, then you’ll need to do a clean reïnstallation of OS X on it to associate it with her Apple ID.

  • How do i change my imessage account on the MacBook Pro?

i'm having major problems with my iphone, so i'm using my macbook pro
and unfortunately my fiance is in another continent at the moment and can't help me lol
but ihave no idea how to switch imessage accounts on the laptop
    please help!

You can either go to System Preferences, then select 'Internet Accounts' then you will see the accounts you have set up in the past.. and you then can notice when you select one that contains Mail, Contacts, Calendar Messages and or Notes >> Deselect Messages and its ready..
or go to Messages App, from the top menu Select Preferences and then go to the tab that is labeled as Accounts and click on the account you wish to log out / sign out from, and click on where it says 'Sign Out'
After you are good to go.

  • How do I change the admin password on my MacBook pro

I have forgotten my password and I don't want to wipe my hard drive how do I change the password?
    I have done the following:
Rebooted selected a language, it then went right back to the installer but there was no change password as an option.
Under disk utility it was not high lighted.

First, make sure caps lock is not on.
Another reason why your password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. At the login screen, you can cycle through the available layouts by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space. See this support article.
You must back up all data before continuing, unless you've already done so. If you need to back up but can't log in, ask for instructions.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.

  • How do I change the install language on a MacBook Pro

    Hi folks,
I have purchased a 2nd hand MacBook Pro that was using Polish as its default language. I have changed it all back to English, including 'sudo languagesetup' in utilities, however I want to reintsall the OS and when I press Command > R on startup the setup is showing in Polish still.
Can you please advise how I can change this English? I have researched extensively but still have not found answers beyond using the terminal in utilities which I have already tried,
    Thanks
    IW

Then you will need the original system discs that came with the system when it was new or a replacement set of them. The Replacement set can be ordered from Apple for a small fee.
That system should not been sold to you with Mt Lion, or Lion, installed on it. Those 2 version of OS X would be Tied to the original persons Apple ID that installed either of them. These versions of OS X, when purchased from the Mac App Store for older Mac computers, can not be transfered to someone else.
I don't think an Apple store will be any help. You need to reinstall the original shipping version of OS X then upgrade and update it to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and then you can either log into the Mac App Store using your current Apple ID (Or create an Apple Id if you don't have one) and buy, download and install Mt Lion on that system.

  • Stereo changes to bluetooth every time my macbook pro turns on

Hi, I just got a macbook pro, my first mac. I paired it with my onkyo receiver and works great but now every time I turn or wake up my macbook my receiver automatically switches to bluethooth. Also I can't pair with my phone, it only wants the macbook. Is there a way to only turn on the bluetooth on my macbook if I'm streaming music? Is there more settings for bluetooth?

  • HT1338 I have updated my new MacBook Pro for HP Photosmart All-in-One, but it still will not scan - it will print, but will not scan. How can I fix this?

I have installed the updates for my HP Photosmart All-in-One c309a.  It prints, but will not scan.  Tells me to update - I did that, but still won't scan.  Any suggestions to make the scanner work?
This all worked perfectly with my old 2008 MacBook Pro.

Have you tried scanning from Image Capture or Preview?
A current driver is shown to be available for Mavericks (auto-downloaded):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669#HP
But many people have found that manufacturer scanning control software doesn't work. They have to use the Apple-provided software.
