HT3574 Keynote and iphone remote

I want to use keynote on  my ipad and use the iphone remote feature, can I use the personal Hotspot to create a wifi connection or is there a more elegant way to pair the two devices when a common wifi connection is not available

Hi there,
While you certainly could export your keytone presentation as images and use those, there is another option I have also used.
If you export your presentation as a quicktime movie and then use Quicktime Pro to convert it so that it may be played on an iPhone/iPod, you can have the presentation mobile and keep your transitions or effects in the presentation.
Edit: Sorry for not reading the thread thoroughly and seeing that this was already suggested. The only problem I ran into while doing this was that the movie wouldn't sync, so I had to use quicktime to convert it so that it would play on a portable device. - Joe
Just a thought.

  • Keynote and iPhone Remote throwing an error

They remote works great when I open keynote and then use the remote app. But once I stop the slide show, and try and start the slide show again I get an error. When that happens it won't even let me start the slide show manually. I have to shut keynote down and restart it.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
    Please follow the following procedure.
Goto Transaction SICF->SAP->BC->SAP->Application name(Right click and activate the application)
Hope this solves the issue, let me know if any queries.

  • ITunes and iPhone 'Remote' app, only plays one song at a time

Using iPhone 'Remote' app to control iTunes on Mac. I click on Albums, select an album, select the first track, it plays and then stops and goes back to the albums list. I've tried every conceivable combination of the little icons for Shuffle and track repeat, nothing changes this, it always plays just the track and select and then it's done, it goes back to the tracks list. I've spent hours researching this and cannot get it to work. Thanks for any help.

Hi, although unchecking tracks is one way to manage what gets put on your device it has other side effects that make it less effective than the use of selected playlists. I generally use unchecking for marking tracks I'd usually want to ignore, such as bonus interview tracks on an album, or podcasts that aren't compatible with my device.
It is much easier to use playlists rather than check boxes to manage the content. There is no need to make a series of ad hoc playlists however. You'll need two, one of which you can throw away later. Create a new smart playlist with the rules *Playlist is Music* and the option *Match only checked items* ticked. Call it Checked. Now create regular playlist and call it, for example, Sync. Select all the tracks in Checked (cmd-A I think) and drag them into Sync.
Now you can go to your main music library and cmd-click on an empty checkbox to check all of your tracks so the unchecked behaviour no longer interferes with playback. Change your sync options so that the device syncs with your new playlist. In future you can manage the content by adding and removing things from this list instead of checking and unchecking them.

  • IPad and iPhone Remote app no longer see my AppleTV (1st Generation)

For months, I've been using the Remote app from my iPad to control my first generation AppleTV. When I got an iPhone 4 and got the Remote app for it, I tried to do the same thing, but now AppleTV will not recognize my iPhone 4, and no longer recognizes my iPad. All it will allow me to use is the ****** little remote that came with it.
    How do I fix this?
    Notes:
AppleTV is synchronized with my iTunes library
Home Sharing on the PC is turned on
Remote App tells me to "turn on home sharing on the AppleTV from the Computers section of the Settings menu" but no such option exists.

AppleTV1 doen't use Home Sharing.  Try this:
    Apple TV (1st generation)
Connect iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to a Wi-Fi network that is connected to the local network that your Apple TV also connected to.
Open the Remote app on your mobile device.
Select Add an iTunes Library in the Remote settings screen. Remote will then display a 4 digit passcode.
On Apple TV, select Settings from the main menu, select General and then Remotes.
Select the name of your iPhone or iPod touch.
Enter the 4 digit passcode. Use the volume up/down keys on the Apple Remote (Infrared) to change the number that is displayed and the track next/back keys to switch digits.
    Click Done.
Remote app will be paired with Apple TV and you can begin browsing your library using Remote and select a piece of content to play.

  • Airport Express and Iphone Remote Application

I have G5 Power PC using 10.5 software. I have Airport Express that allows me to play my ITunes library remotely through my home sound system. I had downloaded and used the Remote application for the IPhone and it had worked well until I recently added Time Machine for backup and to set up a Home WIFI network using my cable modem connection.
Now I am no longer able to use the Remote App on my Iphone.
I choose the Airport Extreme network and when Remote attempts to connect to my Music Library, a receive the following:
Remote could not connect to your library. If you have a firewall enabled in your router or computer, make sure the firewall is not blocking communication with Remote.
I am not sure where I would go to be able to see if communication is blocked.

    Thanks for your reply.
Well. I am not using the Airport Express as a modem, but as a node for streaming music (and with lan to wan etherbridge function (proxy STA)). Very easy to notify when it does not communicate, -no music.
I have a zyxzel modem at root to my Internet provider.
I like to know the background info for this settings.
I read about the multicast problem, and therefore enabled the filtering.
I will try these settings you suggested, but is there a reason for those settings, the Th. at 2304 and the B.I. at 75?
It could take some time to see, if these settings ajustments have any effect for my problem, but I will notify any changes.

  • How to use keynote remote w/ iPad and iPhone using Bluetooth

Using IOS 7.0.6 on iPad and iPhone can't get a connection via Bluetooth to use iPhone as a remote to control keynote on iPad. Bluetooth is on, remote is enabled in keynote on both devices but that is as far as I get. I'm looking for some instructions for what seems to be a simple process. Searched all over and only find outdated instructions or instructions that appear incomplete. I don't think my Wi-Fi connection at work will allow this type of connection that's why I want to use Bluetooth. I can't get the 2 devices to do this on my home Wi-Fi either. Using the latest  update to keynote. iPad is work issued and not sure if it is iPad or iPad 2 but I don't think this would make a difference. Any help would be much appreciated. Very frustrated at this point.
    Thank you,
    Carl

Hey, I had some issues but I finally figured it out thanks to this article: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-use-keynote-to-control-keynote-on-ios-mac/
Basically, you find the remote (let's say your iPhone) while your iPad has a presentation active then go to Presentation Tools on said iPad and link your iPhone. Your iPhone has to be searching for a device after you tap "Add Device."

  • Keynote and Apple Aluminum Remote

I have used Keynote for a long time now and never had problems using it with a remote control.
I updated to Mountain Lion recently and **** broke loose! I cannot get Keynote to work with a remote if I am showing my presentation on a secondary display (an LCD TV connected to my Macbook Pro via an HDMI cable). I did manage to reset the SMC (System Management Controller) but it solved my problem only temporarily. I know the problem is not with the remote because when I use it with Keynote and I am not using a secondary display, it works perfectly. BTW, iPhone and iPod touch remotes are not enabled.
Anyone knows how to solve this?
    TIA

    An update:
The remote works well with Quicktime. I had to play an mp3 file and the remote apparently works well with you. Keynote seems to be the culprit...

  • Is Keynote iPhone Remote disabled in the trial version?

After reading all of the info here on how to use the iPhone remote, I still can not connect. The checkbox in Keynote Preferences is greyed out. I have tried setting up a computer-to-computer network too and that still is greyed out.
One question on this computer-to-computer network, on the iPhone I select this network as my wifi network, it tells me I am connected but the display at the top of the phone shows 3G and the Keynote Remote app tells me I am not on a wifi network. What's up with that?
    thanks,
    Michael

After a little fooling around I was able to get it to work. Basically, I had not gone through the registration process when I started Keynote for the first time - I launched it by dragging a powerpoint file to its icon. All I did was shut down Keynote and launch it. This time I got the opening Trial dialog and registered my trial. Now the remote is active and I was able to pair my iPhone and control the presentation.
Also, my iMac is wired to my TimeCapsule (not on airport for performance reasons), Keynote Remote works fine in this configuration since my iPhone is on my local WIFI net hosted by the TimeCapsule.

  • Keynote 1.6.1 and KN Remote

Since the Keynote update, Keynote doesn't recognize the password. It recognizes the iPhone over Wifi but when I try to link it the verification process fails. Need help!!!

    Sometimes connections get garbled.
    Try this:
On your Mac open your Keynote Preferences and select Remote
If your iPhone is listed, UNLINK it
On your iPhone open Keynote Remote > Settings > New Keynote Link (you will see a new set of numbers)
On your Mac Keynote Preferences > Remote click on the iPhone LINK and you should see a new panel for the new numbers.
Enter the numbers and close the preferences.
    Things should work now.
    Good Luck.

  • Apple TV2 Just Disappeared from Remote app on iPad and iPhone after latest Remote app update

I Have used Remote app on my iPad and iPhones to control my ATV1, ATV2, and ATV3 for years. After the latest Remote app update ATV2 has disappeared from tRemote, and I can no longer find a way to connect it. Any advice about this?

Brilliant. Restarting did the job, and all is well. Since I have recommended this to others with other ATV problems, I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't try it myself at the outset, and would probably have come around to trying it later, but you saved me some time. Thanks.

It got A new router today and wanted to turn on apple tv but my remote app on iPad and iPhone will not recognize apple tv. Btw- I do not have apple tv remote.

It reboots it but unplugging can also rectify communication issues like this. A restore would be the next step.

  • I cannot open Keynote and Pages in iPhone/iPad iOS 7

After updating to iOS 7 and iWork for iOS, I'm no loger able to use iWork for iOS when iCloud is turned on.
I've two apple accounts, one for Mexico store and another one for US store. A couple of yeard ago I purchased Numbers for iphone/ipad using MX account, and Keynote and Pages for iphone/ipad using my US account.
Before updating to iOS 7, I was able to use iCloud for keynote, numbers and pages without any problem. All my documents were backed up on the MX account in iCloud. My iphone/ipad was logged into iCloud using my MX account all the time.
After updating to iOS 7, I keep using my MX account for iCloud, but I'm no longer to open Keynote and Pages (which were purchased with my US account) when iCloud is activated for them.
What's going wrong with apple?! I think iOS 7 is very buggy and it is the worst OS they have ever make available for users!!! Can't believe the amount of errors I keep finding in most of Apple apps!!!
    Please advice! Regards,

  • Iphone remote app and itunes

All seemed to be going well until - the updates.
Now my iphone will not recognize my itunes libraries. I deleted the library link from the iPhone remote app and even told itunes to forget all remotes. Back to my iphone to set up as a remote - again. The iphone generates the 4 digit code, itunes even recognizes the iphone, allows me to enter the code, and returns the screen that I can now start using the iphone as a remote. --- Back to the iphone - and the remote app can "find the library" - What gives? Help
    <edited by host>

Revelation, do you mean complete restore of the iPhone and all contents thereof? Or the Mac?
I have deleted the application "Remote" from the iPhone, and I have re-installed it. Each time the application will work for a limited time, and then it loses the ability to locate the library.
I continue to suspect IP addresses as the source of the problem, and wonder if the addresses must be static on both devices in order for them to maintain a connection. However, I find it odd that iTunes can register the presence of the iPhone enough to list it in the "devices" pane (therefore, I assume that the two devices are communicating over my network) but then the iPhone fails to locate the iTunes library.
Other applications (Briefcase Lite, for example) seem to be able to conduct over-the-network business without difficulty.
