My ipod touch does not have ios 5. you might be thinking that it should have it but, NOPE. there is no ios 5 in mine. so... is there a way?

- A 1G iPod can only go to iOS 3.1.3
- A 2G to iOS 4.2.1
- A 3G and 4G to the latest which is iOS 5.1.1

I feel like a sucker. I bought an iPAD2 at Fry's where I was told by the salesman that the non 3-G version does have GPS. It does not have GPS. Is there any way I can use the GPS on my Iphone or Garmin to display in my new mostly unuseable iPad2?

Is there anyway to input a live, real time video feed into an iPad2? I would like to use it as a remote monitor for a microscope camera in electrophysiology. Our camera was designed to run off of an older Mac via a firewire connection. The camera is SUPERB but the computers are dated. The older computers connected to an AC line are electrically noisy. I have worked out converting the signal from our camera to HDMI and/or USB2 but the iPad2 will not allow any input except via iTunes which is not real time, and requires several steps. Is it possible to use the only mostly useless iPad2 as the excellent portable DC driven display which it is?!!! How do I get Apple to say anything but IGNORE, IGNORE IGNORE. This would be a universal application in academics and all I think I need is permission from the iPad2. The original signal was designed for Apple hardware. They can have the patents. HELP?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

Thanks. I have been looking for this information for hours too. You answered my question in your list. I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch and last updated to iOS 4.2.1. Now many of the games are obsolete after being updated. I wish I hadn't updated them now, and I would still have play available. It's sad in this economy that I'll have to purchase a new iPod touch just to play a few simple games. I haven't even had it three years yet. I go to amazon.com, look up the album in the search bar, the do a copy (right click, copy) on the artwork that shows up. Then you go to iTunes and right click the album you want to update with that artwork, click "get info" click in the artwork square and press the 'command and V' keys for paste (fyi right click paste does not work here) you must just click in the square and press command-V which will paste it. It should then place that artwork in the square to update all songs in that album. Hope this helps...

No. If you had configured Find My Phone in icloud.com, then you can lock it or erase it, but you cannot recover data from it.
There probably are third-party utilities that might be able to extract data from the backup file itself. Look for them at MacUpdate.
