HT3662 On my OS X v10.7.5 there is no "Automatically update safe downloads lists"

On my OS X v10.7.5 there is no "Automatically update safe downloads lists" in the advanced security settings. There is however "Automatically install important security updates". I've ran every available update for my MAC, but the security features have not changed. How can I get this to update?

If it's a Core Duo Mac, no.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X DVD, and if the computer can't run 10.8, a download code for 10.7.

You do realise that you can add Ram, if that is all that is holding you back it's not a problem.
Tell me the exact model and age of your Mac. (The model identifier can be found by holding the option key down and clicking on the Apple Menu, select System Information (top entry) and then read the model identifier from the righthand panel (2nd entry down)

I'm connected through my Sky Wifi, it's extremely quick, and I don't have any problems with it. Yes it asked me for my Account Email, and password as normal, then it did that little annimation where it flys into the Launch Pad, then it's saying "waiting" where it should be saying downloading.

  • My mac mini v10.6.8 wont finish installation of update Yosemite and now im stock at boot :( Please help!!

My mac mini v10.6.8 wont finish installation of update Yosemite and now im stock at boot Please help!!

    Try stating in Safe Mode:
OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
    Next try reinstalling Yosemite by:
    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • When updating OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 Update it downloads twice why?

After updating why does OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 Software Update Records show that it has installed itself and all other updates twice? Is this a error in the new update?

Double-entry usually occurs if you paused the DL and installation. That's all I have. For more info, contact http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact/ which runs this service.

  • HT6400 OS X Mavericks v10.9.5 is not going to  Update

I am useing MacPro 2013 model. I got the notification of Os x v10.9.5. I had start downloading and it's take 2-3 hrs. After finishing update system restart. But still it's shows update the system. Could you Pl. tell me what should I do?

Consider yourself lucky! I didn't know there was an update and didn't get any notification. I  only found out by chance when I was reading a Mac website.
In your case, it sounds as if you didn't download the update properly, perhaps by trying to use the computer while it was installing the the update, or perhaps the download process was interrupted in some way, by a momentary power interruption or something else.
If before installing the update you cloned your computer (this is always strongly advisable) then you could simply reboot from the clone and start again.
If you don't have a clone then you may need to completely reinstall Mavericks, and then try again. Installing the latest update should only take a few minutes.

  • I just got v10.6, while trying to run the update, it's telling me that the file is corrupt and cannot be saved. What do I do?!

I'm running Snow Leopard v 10.6 on a Macbook 4,1. I've got a 500 GB HD and 4GB of Ram. While trying to run the software update (to get me to 10.6.8, I think?) I keep getting an error message around 600 MB that says it's unable to be saved because the file might be corrupt and that it will try again when the software update is ran next time. Why am I getting this message? Is there a way to get the update (so I can eventually get to Lion), without going through the software update screen?
I'm going crazy with this. I've tried 4 times now and still keep getting the same message.

Try downloading the stand alone installer here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
In Safari Preferences, General tab, set "Save downloaded files to: select destop, if it is not in thed rop down select other, then selcet Desktop from the left sidebar. After the download completes click on the installer package on your desktop and follow the prompts.
Also if possible use an ethernet conection as it is less prone to interference, thus less prone to corruption, and usually faster.
    Hope this helps

We have 10.1.6 adobe reader on our workstations. Is there a direct upgrade from 10 to 11? that we can roll out to the workstations.

You can obtain the exe file at http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • HT4150 Why can't I get the Mac OS X v10.6.4 update to download?

    I have Snow Leopard 10.6.3. Yes, I know I am very behind the times . . .
The download starts, but quits after a few seconds and I get a "not recognized" message when I try to open it.
    Thanks.

Are you doing a Software Update or downloading directly from Apple?
If Software Update, instead download the combo 10.6.8 update from here. Use Disk Utility (on your hard drive in application/utilities)  to repair permissions, then apply the combo update, and when done, repair permissions again. You'll be at 10.6.8 at that point.

  • V10.6.8 Snow leopard won't update

Snow Leopard won't update, no matter how many times I try. I suspect Flashback is the reason. How can I scan and remove it? Complete Mac novice. Any assistance is appreciated!!!

I doubt that very much. I'd also be sure to do the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • Newly downlowded third-party apps won't open.

I have a mid-2010 MacBook Pro and am running OS 10.8.4.  Recently, I have tried to download several third party applications.  I got the usual Gatekeeper warnings and have bypassed them.  In fact, I have disabled Gatekeeper completely.  I have also turned off Gatekeeper's automatic updates to the list of known malware sites (not sure if my lingo is correct on this one).  Anyway, I don't think Gatekeep is the issue.  When I get the app downloaded, I will try to open it, and the icon will pop up very briefly on my bottom toolbar.  However, it disappears immediately and the program does not run.  This issue seemed to have started when I upgraded by system to Mountain Lion.  I have looked everywhere for an answer to this, but can't find it.  Can anyone help?  Thanks!

Information from the Chrip site indicates the app is supported by Intel but it doesn't say anything about exactly which Mac OS X is supported. It may not work on ML v10.8.4
Try their Help menu >  http://www.redmine.org/guide
I downloaded the Chirp file. Keep in mind it's a .zip meaning it's an archived file. I tried opening with the Unarchiver app from the Mac App Store, but no go. No dialog, nothing.

  • Support for the creation of a new BEA WebLogic Application Server v10.3

    To All,
After downloading and installing the Enterprise Pack for Eclipse (Ganymede: http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/ganymede) I attempted to create a new BEA WebLogic 10.3 server - since that is the version of the application server that I have installed on my machine.
I went to create the new server and selected "BEA WebLogic Server v10.0", since there was no option to select a WebLogic 10.3 server. I selected as the WebLogic Home directory "D:\BEA_HOME\wlserver_10.3" and received the error message: "The path "D:\BEA_HOME\wlserver_10.3" contains the wrong version of WebLogic Server. Expected version 10.0. Found version 10.3."
Is there some way that I can create a new WLS v10.3 in Eclipse Ganymede? Do I need to download an additional plugin?
Thanks in advance for your help on this,
    John Livingstone

Look for WLS 10.3 under Oracle rather than BEA group.
