I understand you are having an issue selecting the manual duplex print setting for your HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw printer on your Mac computer running 10.10. I'd love to help you with this. Firstly, do you have the most recent HP Printer driver update installed? If not you can download it from the App Store here - HP Printer Drivers v3.1 for OS X Then, I'd recommend removing and re-adding your printer, to make sure you are using the correct driver (10.10 will often default to using an AirPrint driver which does not have a manual duplexing option). Click the Apple icon on your menu bar.Select System Preferences, then Printers and Scanners.Select your M1217 and click the (-) button to remove it.Press the (+), and then select Add Printer or Scanner. Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

After loading Lion 10.7 to my Desk Top, I'm no longer able to use my Quicken 07. Is there a work around? All my financial records are in Quicken 07 or do I need to remove Lion 10.7 from my computer

Quicken is a PPC application. They will not work in Lion because Lion no longer supports Rosetta emulation.
1. You can downgrade to Snow Leopard.
2. You can switch to Quicken Essentials.
3. You can purchase a different application that provides similar services for you. Examples are MoneyDance or MYOB.
Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
1. Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard. I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.

also, try to boot the computer in [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-hk/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows Safe mode with network support] (press F8 on the boot screen) and check firefox again.
(If works in Windows Safe mode then probably you have problem with other software, like security software or maybe a system driver, that is running on your computer).

After updating to 10.7.3 I am no longer able to connect to the internet.

Updated to 10.7.3 this morning on my Macbook Air (Oct. 2010 model). After restarting, I am no longer able to connect to the internet. I can connect to the router, and pull a valid IP address (sometimes - other times I get an automatic private IP), but I am unable to get to any websites, check email, etc. I am able to ping websites AND visit websites using their IP addresses, but not using their DNS names.
I called Applecare this morning, and the tech walked me through some troubleshooting steps, including:
Rebooting into Repair partition to check connectivity there (same issues, no change)
Deleting and recreating various config files (Networkinterfaces.plist, preferences.plist and com.apple.airport.preferences.plist) (no change)
I've also tried reinstalling the update (both delta and combo), repairing disk permissions and rebooting into safe mode, nether of which has solved the issue.
Also on the network are (Mini, not updated to 10.7.3), a PC, my iPhone and an Apple TV, all of which aren't experiencing any issues. Any ideas?

Here is something to try. Boot into the Recovery HD by holding
down Command+R when booting. Select the get help online option.
It initially opens Safari with a local web page, but you can use
the bookmarks on the bookmark bar or even enter a website.
Many extensions may not be available but it could tell you if
it is your Lion install that is a problem or perhaps a hardware
problem.
If you can browse around in this mode, then it could eliminate
any possible hardware issues. If you still have problems, then
the issue could possibly be hardware/driver related.
Give it a shot and see what happens.

After installing PSE 10 on OS X Lion, no longer able to select pictures from iPhoto library

I've downloaded and installed Photoshop Elements 10 on my MacBook Pro, which is running OS X 10.7.4. After installation and importing the photos from iPhoto, I noticed that I am no longer able to select images from my iPhoto library from other applications, such as Facebook, Address Book, etc. (ie; typically in a dialog to select a photo or image, simply browse to iPhoto library to get access to all Events, Albums, Faces, etc.).
This capability now seems to be broken even if I browse to the iPhoto Library using Finder. Showing Package Contents on the iPhoto Library reveals that all the images are there.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Drilling into the file structure of the PE Organizer is painful at best.

You assume too much. I am not mucking around with the iPhoto Library.
Here is an example of my problem:
Open Address Book
Select a Contact
Click Edit
Double Click the Photo icon
A dialog appears for me to "Choose" a photo
Click Choose...
Another dialog appears for me to browse to the photo that I would like to attach to that conract
I select my username under "Favorites", then expand the "Pictures" folder
When I click on iPhoto Library, I am no longer able to expand it and presented with the photos, events, faces, albums within it, but only get an icon for the iPhoto Library instead.
This is part of the way a Mac works, and is now broken. It exhibits this in Address Book and any other program, and it was working fine until I installed PSE 10.

No longer seeing prompt for Manual Duplex on LaserJet M1217nfw MFP for my Mac (OS 10.10.4)

We have not been able to use the Manual Duplex Feature of our printer for quite some time. In the past we simply saw, in the Print dialog box, a check box option next to 'duplex'. This was available when using the Mac Text Editor, or our Microsoft Office for Mac tools (Word, Excel, etc.) or even printing webpages from the Browser. First Im thinking that maybe we dont have the most current printer software (seeing we have upgrading our MAC OS software regularly as new releases come out). Can you help me determine where I can find my installed version of the HP print driver, what the current version should be, and how to download the latest copy if I need it? I obviously dont want to re-install the driver if I dont need to. Next, lets address where I can turn the duplex option on. Is there a setting on the printer itself? I have looked at the System Preferences of the HP software and dont see any options. I have also looked at the specific print options under File / Print of the appication I am in (see list above). Ive read some solutions off the HP Forum page and they dont help either (the options discussed are not applicable to what I see on my computer). We are no longer able to use the audio portion for ELPA testing after running apple software updates on snow leopard?

We are in the middle of OAKS TESTING. We had to run the latest Java Updates inorder to do the ELPA portion of our State "OAKS" testing. Since last Friday we cannot consistantly or basically cannot get the audio portion to work. The sound and speech works fine in system preference but no longer for the testing. It was fine last week.
Is there other school district having this issue in the state of Oregon?

When I try to do a "save as" in preview, pages, numbers, etc., there no longer is a save as in the pull down menu. If a go to help and type save as it will pop up under help - what a pain.
Save as is available in Mountain Lion by hitting the Option key while you access the File menu. (It was returned after being eliminated in Lion).

How much RAM do you have installed? Mountain Lion is somewhat of a memory hog. And, how much free/empty hard drive space do you have?

Apple announced a new OS a few days ago; it is supposed to be released in the fall.
When i open softwares, like quickbooks, it tells me that my QB wants to import my contacts.
The capability to sync is a new feature. You don't need to do it. I did not allow any app to import my contacts. You can also turn off other features if you do not like them - simply go through all the System Preference Panes and decide what you want and what you don't want.

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp50501-51000/sp50856.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load. Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

After uploaded 2.0.1 to iPhone, am no longer able to download pictures

iPhoto does not open when I connect the iPhone. When I open iPhoto manually, there is no device listed to provide an opportunity to import pictures. However, iTunes can still sync pictures, etc. I have already restored the iPhone once. I can still take picture with the iPhone but can only send them via e-mail ( and just recently that has started to fail). Any insights would be appreciated.

I think this may not be a browser problem but rather a Google problem.
I am getting the same problem with the Google Chrome browser.

Manual duplex HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276

I have a HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276 and my manual duplex is not duplexing properly.
There are no error messages just me grumbling at the final output.
I am using Windows 8.1 Pro and no new hard or software changes.
Here is what happens:
I am attempting to print 5 pages with the manual duplex option checked
3 pages come out (pages 1,3, & 5) and a pop up window says to reinstall the pages and hit ok.
I reinstall the pages (not adulterating the page order) Just take them off the printer and put in the tray face down with the top of paper toward the back of the printer.
What comes out is page 2 on the back of page 5 instead of being on page 1; page 4 is on the back of page 3 and page 1 is blank.
Why doesn't it know how to reverse print the odd page numbers so page 2 will end up on page the back of page 1 etc?
I tried it with a 3 page document and page 2 ended up on the back of page 3 instead of page 1. Page 1 came out blank.

Hello, I understand that you are having an issue with printing in manual mode. When printing documents in manual duplex, the best method is to select manual duplex in the printer driver and not through the application. There is a public document that might help, which can be found at the HP product/support page. When the page is availalbe search on this public document id number for instructions-c02851622. I need help with my HP Laserjet Professional p1606dn. We have about 13 of these machines
I can access the HP Embedded Web Server by putting in the IP address into a web browser.
I have all of the printers set with a static IP address.
I have set a password in the HP Embedded Web server so network information can not be changed.
My problem is the Print Info Pages section.
Where i can just click Print to print a Print Configuration Page and Print Supplies page.
I want to disable that feature.
I have students getting into the Hp Embedded Web Server and are repeatedly hitting the print button and I'm getting hundreds of Print Configuration Page and or Print Supplies page.
You do not need a password to use this functionality.
I want to have these printers setup that if they do not know the Admin password to get into the Web Server they can not use any of the Web Server functions.
Any help would be appreciated.

Your usb connection may have gone bad. Try another usb port on the computer. Just connecting the printer to a different usb port should say new hardware found. If it does not then the port on the printer has gone bad. All is not lost. This model is the N model which means it also has a network interface. You could try connecting the printer to your router or switch with a rj45 cable and after turning the printer on and it comes to ready, wait about 2 minutes and then print the same test page which should give you the network settings if it found any. Use those settings to setup the printer as a local tcp/ip printer.
