HT3669 Hp printer

i have a hp laserjet 1018 that i want to hook up to my mac book pro that runs osx mountain lion, does anyone know where i can download the software to make it run on my mac??

Hi,
Indeed the 1018 is not compatible with Mac OS X:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01973413&tmp_task=prodinfoC ategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=1814094
Try the following workaround and check if that may work:
Download and isntall the following:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Turn the printer on and connect it to your Mac.
Go to System Preferences > Print and Scan and click the plus sign.
Selet the listed 1018 and click the Use drop down.
Click on Select printer software and select the Laserjet 1022 from the list.
Click add and try printing using the newly created print queue.
If that fails as well you may also try the 3rd aprty F002zjs drivers which seems to support the 1018:

Best of luck,

  • HT3669 What printer works with the Mac G5 10.5.8?

I am looking fo r a printer that works with the Mac G5 10.5.8. I bought the Epson XP-410. Th Drive will not download, I recive the message tha tit is not supported by the archectecture.

The problem is, Epson has not indicated if they made their 10.5 or 10.4 drivers PowerPC compatible.
Apple transitioned to Intel with 10.4.4, but allowed PowerPC owners to use up to 10.5.8.
You should try to select either the 10.5 or 10.4 drivers from Epson, changing the 10.9 pulldown menu on the website. If neither work tell Epson they need to indicate if it is Intel Only on their website.
I noticed the filename is the same for 10.5.8 or later:
    epson15207.dmg
Since no PowerPC compatibility exists in 10.6.8 or later, it suggests that driver is only for Intel.  Only the 10.4 drivers are different, so you should try them in this file:
    epson15458.dmg

  • HT3669 Failed printer setup, bonjour via airport express on 10.8.3, unable to download drivers?

Trying to install a Samsung SCX-4500 printer over bonjour via airport express. My Mountain Lion machine sees the printer and I've manually installed the latest Samsung drivers, it says it can't find the software on Apple's servers. I just downloaded the latest drivers from Samsung directly, it did not resolve the problem.
I am unable to select printer drivers manually for the 4500; even if I manually select the 4500W drivers it still attempts to download software (unsuccessfully). It works perfectly on 2 Lion machines and a PC, unsure what the deal is.
I'm having trouble even getting the post message' button to work now, it isn't my day...

  • HT3669 Epson printer driver update for 10.8.5

Apple lists "software available" to update my Epson Artisan 50 printer driver to version 9.0.  However, when I do an Apple software update the printer is not listed and does not update.  Epson website says all updates must be done through Apple.  I just recently got a new iMac with Mountain Lion and switched the printer from my old 10.4 iMac.  It no longer prints colors accurately so after going through all the standard "fixes" with Epson I hoped a driver update would help.  Any ideas?

sorry - it is HP Photosmart D110a.  the HP website says that there is no additional software other than the Apple update:
"With the release of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, HP is providing updated print drivers and software for your printer. These updates are available through Apple Software Update . You do not need to download a driver from HP to use your printer with Mountain Lion."

What functionality is available in the HP driver update through Apple Software Update?
Depending on the printer functionality , one or more of the following software components might be included in the HP driver update for Mountain Lion:
    HP print driver
    HP fax driver
    HP Utility
HP scanning files compatible with Apple’s Image Capture and Preview applications

  • HT3669 Dell Printer B2375dfw

I am having problems printing Pdf mixed original documents. It will print the leteer and any legal size only prints the first page correctly the other legal sizes it cuts the bottom off and actually moves the image downward,. I have already talked to the manufacturer and they are trying to see what they can do. Other Mac users are having the same problem. I am using the latest OS X system.

Are you using Preview? If so, see if Acrobat works any differently. This most likely isn't a printer problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT3669 HP Printing Software Update

I just let the Software Update do its thing on my Mac, and now my Designjet T610 is behaving strangely. It won't print part of the sheet border on my drawings. Even stranger, it only does this on the first of multiple copies of a sheet that I print. Print one copy, no border. Print two or three copies, no border on the first, the second and third print normally.
Anyone else seeing something like this? Any ideas on how to fix, other than wasting a lot of paper printing one extra copy of everything?
Early 2008 Mac Pro, 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, memory 10 GB. OSX 10.8.2. Printing with PowerCADD 9. All was working fine before this software update.

I fixed it by doing the following:
Deleted the printers in the System Preferences: Print & Scan window.
Deleted the hp folder in my hard drive root directory: Library: Printers folder
Deleted all the HP PPDs in hard drive root directory: Library: Printers: PPDs: Contents: Resources folder
I then downloaded the latest HP printer software update from the Apple site, ran its installer, and installed my HP printers again in System Preference: Print & Scan.
Success! I will need to recreate some custom page sizes in the DesignJet driver, but at least printing works properly.
By allowing the Apple Software Update to install itself from the App Store Software Update window, I must have allowed some sort of corruption of the printer software to occur.

Working on Autocad, I need to prepare documents from A4 to A0 in pdf format.
Is there a way to create a virtual printer or an app that would do the job?

Some of the troubles with printing could be addressed in the system update:
    •Mac OS X 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1399
{Usually if there were printer drivers (often are) for all of the main brands
of printers, these Combo updates included them; plus later or more
    recent versions of these, are available from the maker's support site.}
I'm a bit curious if you'd tried a second-user account to see if (once set up
from scratch) that would give you some other information on how to go in
and re-set your main user account's print settings.
Some basic system issues can be resolved by simple things, such as in
the use of Disk Utility's 'repair disk permissions' that can affect almost all
things a user can do in the system.

  • F380. When printing the first time, the preview image shows the same old document

I have a HP Deskjet F380 All In One. The OS of my laptop is Windows Vista, provided with the latest updates. When after starting the laptop, a first print order should be executed, after pressing the PRINT button, the preview window shows not the concerned document, but a very old one. The printing order will be corrected finished, however the old document preview remains somewhere. I am looking for a way how to remove that old document from the preview.

  • With Lion no connection with my HP Photosmart

    Hello everybody,
I got Lion and now I am not able to connect the MacBook Pro with my HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-one C410b printer anymore!
I am really disappointed! I connected them also with USB. Nothing! The software had recognized the printer and automatically downlawded the driver.
Neverthless no printing, no utilities readability, nothing!
I checked the compatibility but the HP and Apple sites are not in accordance!
Is anyone able to help me? Thank you in advance.
Sorry for my English, I am still improving it!

According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669, your printer is supported. Try deleting the /Library/Printers/hp folder and the printer from Print & Scan. Then download the drivers using Software Update or from here:

    Hope this helps.

  • Canon MG5500 wont work on Imac

My Cannon MG5500 works on airprint from my Iphone 4S and ipad but when I try and print from my Mac it says the printer is not connected. Any ideas if I need to install drivers.

    Hi dean2230,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The article below will help you troubleshoot the issue you are having with your printer.
The first thing I would suggest is to shut down your computer and turn off your printer.  Then do the reverse -- turn the printer on first, then your computer.  If the issue still persists:
Check to make sure there are no jobs waiting to be printed. (Apple Menu > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners)
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
If all else fails, reset the printing system and install the printer again:

I hope this information helps ….

  • HT3669 My Epson RX510 is included in the list of printers supported but on attempting to download the drivers using the method advised, I get an error message "... the software is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer ....".

My (old) Epson RX510 multifunction printer is included in the list of printers supported by Apple, but on following the procedure advised for downloading the printer drivers for Mountain Lion and/or Lion I get the error message " the printer software is currently unavailable and to contact the printer manufacturer. However on going to the Epson web site I get the message to go to the Apple web site as all printer drivers have been covered in the Mountain Lion software updates.
Can anyone please advise what is going on when the said printer is shown as being included in Apple's list of software included in Mountain Lion and Lion software updates?

I understand that and I have been using the printer successfully on OS X 10.5 on another old iMac.
However I also have an euqally old Canon printer and its drivers were successfully downloaded using the same procedure as recommended for the Epson.
The fact that the Epson RX510 is currently listed on the Apple Support website as being supported is the frustrating issue.
    Go to;  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson
    - then scroll down to the Epson section and eventually you will find the RX510 listed with Version 9.00 shown and "P" & "S" shown for printer and scanner drivers being available.
PS: Sometimes you need to click on the "Software available" link to open the list of printers. It is then a fair way down the Epson list with the RX series.

I have an HP deskjet color printer that only prints in black and white from my mac ... how do I get it to print in color

Check the printer itself.  Some printers you need to set the color & B&W settings on the printer itself instead of the Mac.   If that is not the case w/your printer, contact HP tech support and/or post in their forums if they have one.
