My mac have OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 and my HP Photosmart C4480 its printing fine but im having trouble scaning, when i checked on apple site printer softwares i dont see mine listed only the HP photosmart C4400, y deleted/added few times and the scanner still isnt working, any sugestions?

There's an alternative for scanning when the printer / scanner model driver isn't available.
Launch Image Capture located in your Applications folder.
Connect the scanner to your Mac whether Wi-Fi or USB.
Click the very small black box bottom left side of the Image Capture window.
You'll see this pop up menu: Connecting this (device) opens:
You can select a default app to scan (Image Capture) and select a folder from the Import To pop up menu on the right to save scanned files to.
If you need help with the Image Capture software, click Help from the Image Capture menu bar.

Logic 8 has a "bug" in its installer program that makes a newer Mac (Lion, and thereafter) think that it is PowerPC, but it is not PowerPC.
Try using Pacifist to install Logic 8 in Mavericks:

If you cannot get Pacifist to work, you can partition your hard drive and install Snow Leopard into that new partition, install Logic 8 and then upgrade to Mavericks.
As Barney correctly points out, the 2011 iMacs require a minimum of 10.6.6 to boot, so that you need to install Snow Leopard with one of these three options:
1) As Barney points out, the original grey Restore DVD that came with that iMac (or a replacement provided by Apple if you call with your model and serial number);
2) The slipstreamed version of the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Install DVD at 10.6.7; or
3) Install Snow Leopard on a new partition on another older Mac, update it to 10.6.8 and then clone the partition and move the cloned partition over to your 2011 iMac.

Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Here is a selection:

I had the same problem and was puzzled -- The App Store didn't automatically download/install ML after I purchased it. I had to click on Purchases and THEN on the "install" button.
Wasn't very intuitive.

I recently was victim of Phishing. I have meanwhile changed my passwords and etc, I am paranoid that my mac might be infected with some key logger or stuff like that. I tried looking at the activity monitor, didn't find anything suspicious.

If you want to be sure, though, you could download [Little Snitch|http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch> to make sure nothing is making unwanted outgoing connections. (A keylogger installed by someone interested in phishing would be basically worthless if it didn't transmit the information it collected back to the "phisher.") You could also scan through the processes running in Activity Monitor and look for something strange, if you know what processes you should expect to see. However, I agree with Barry that you're likely absolutely fine.

Apple wired keyboard not identified by new mac mini running mavericks

Ayone having this problem? Started when I upgraded to Mavericks.

I've experiened this exact problem with two different MBA mid-2011 (one 11", one 13"), both of them upgraded to Mavericks. We use Apple Thunderbolt displays, which are supposed to attach all your USB devices attached to the monitor hub on reattachment of the power (1st) and thunderbolt cable (2nd). This all worked as-designed until the upgrade to Mavericks. since then, the Apple wired keyboard will NOT detect on the USB host when attachments are wired up. Instead, we must reach around the back of the monitor and unplug the keyboard, wait a few seconds, then reinsert it back to the same (or different) port.
Of interest, both the wired mouse and the wired superdrive have no issues whatsoever, even though they're plugged into the same hub (the Thunderbolt monitor) as the keyboard.
There are numerous open discussions about this on these forums, both with Thunderbolt monitor-to-laptop rigs and iMacs, and none of them have one iota of input from any Apple representative in some official capacity, leading me to believe only one plausible conclusion (a) They know about this problem, and (b) they have absolutely no idea how to fix it.

USB keyboard not working on new Mac Pro with Mavericks

I just bought the new Mac Pro and my apple USB keyboard won't work. I have a very old apple USB keyboard that is working but I want to use my newer one. The newer keyboard is a full one also, including the number pad.

no difference in ports just troubleshooting, ie if it didn't work on any of the 4 ports, likely a kb issue
if it worked on one of the other 3 ports, you have a broken usb port on the mac pro

You have to tap and hold for a second or so to initiate sleep function.
The new update changed the behavior of the power button a bit to avoid accidental sleep.

You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC by signing with your Apple ID. You can only sign into an existing account on a PC. You first have to create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher. After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
You may need to go back and start over. Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router.

Yes there genuine apple earphones I have now blown down jack slot and silly enough I turned my phone off and now it's back on earphones working properly now feeling a wee but silly as such a simple thing got them working.

HT1751 I am trying to retrieve songs from ICloud but its not letting me I've tried logging in and it says my email is not valid even after i make an account

I have 5th gen Ipod Nano and I have recently bought a new computer and have been syncing all of my music onto itunes.But when I try to login I get locked out. I have tried using ICloud but I still get locked out. So I created a new Apple ID, I have been forced by ICloud to do this many times in the past and eventually the ICLOUD icon will appear and I can sync all my music I have purchased on itunes in the past. I as a customer not only find this process very aggravating but also feel its a waste of my time and money that I have spent purchasing the songs because in a matter of weeks ICloud will log me out.When trying to log back in it will reject my email and password saying its not a valid account when I have already verified the account. I have also experienced problems with the ipod itself, sometimes the Itunes won’t show that the Ipod is connected when it is or not syncing my music and also not allowing anymore songs to be put on it when it says it has not all the storage has been used up. I have tried uninstalling Itunes and then reinstalling it. The problem seems fixed for a while and then it starts again. I have had to deal with this problem for months now. I find this very frustrating. I don’t see the point in having an Apple ID or password when nobody but me accesses it on itunes. It would make more sense to have an option that will keep account logged in. I also find that your website does not offer any help when encountering this problem.The only options I have online are to login with my apple ID and change my name,email address or password. This also adds to my frustration with Apple. I have tried to turn ICloud on by following your instructions at help.apple.com but still find that the problem isn’t solved. I have looked on your site to see if I have an up to date Itunes downloaded and that ICloud installed correctly and I did. But still cant access my account or retrieve any of the music. I find there are many faults in your system which make it hard for me to enjoy using any of your products. If this continues I may just have to buy a different mp3 player and use that. You must initiallly activate iCloud from an IOS device or a Mac. You cannot inititally activated from a PC.
