What if I don't have my Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard Install DVD? How can I upgrade for the Quicktime 7 pro, when I have a license for it already?

No, it's not an issue with SL, Lion, ML, or Mavericks. I have Quicktime Pro registered to all of these versions.

After you enter the Registration Code, just press Tab, don't press Enter first.

Bought Pro. Put in registration code, Quicktime Logo Pro showed up in box.

Try quitting and relaunching the app. If that doesn't help, try rebooting your Mac.

QuickTime 7.6 upgrade for Tiger breaks system

As you can see, I believe there are two errors. The first is the loginwindow error:

Googling brought up a possible solution whose work around seems to be

However, the main problem seems to be (perhaps?) a carbon related issue. I am seeing any applications that make use of the Carbon framework seem to be failing.

Without a UI (only a shell prompt) how do I back out the QuickTime upgrade?

I tried that and it did not work. The paid functions are still grayed out.
There are three possibilities here:
1) The QT 7 Pro is not activated. In this case, the registration window will not display the QT logo with the word "Pro" superimposed on it, the phrase "QuickTime 7 Pro" will not be displayed below the "Registration Code:" entry, and the "Buy" button will not disappear. (I.e., I assume your version should look something like this if the code is accepted...)
2) You don't have a movie clip loaded. Unless you load a movie, most of the QT 7 Pro features will be grayed out since their functions are often contextual and, therefore, dependent on the data loaded. Additionally, the file loaded must be QT compression and/or edit compatible. For instance, if you try to trim an MPEG-1 video, the associated controls/options are grayed out because QT recognizes that this compression format is not editable at the frame level.
3) Your QT 7 Player application is corrupted/broken for some reason. In this case you would likely have to "extract" a copy of the player and replace the app in your Applications folder. However, this is a very rare chance of happening.
So, at this point you must determine which specific problem you have.

QuikcTime Pro Upgrade

I just upgraded QuickTime to QuickTime Pro, but cannot get it to work. Any suggestions?

I entered the info exactly as I was directed. The words QuickTime 7 Pro displays beneath the Registration Code, but it does not display on the QuickTime Icon to open the software.
QuickTime Pro will still show "QuickTime Player" in Finder and its dock icon.
I do not have options to open files to convert to Ipod use.
Open the movie normally. In the "File" menu, click "Export...", and set "Export" to "Movie to iPhone" or "Movie to iPod".

Quicktime 7 Pro Export problem in Snow Leopard

Hello.
I always use the QuickTime 7 Pro Export feature, but ever since I've upgraded to Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.0), whenever I hit Command+E or click "Export..." from the File menu, QuickTime will just quit with no warning. No CrashReporter will open, nothing. It does this with every movie. Has anybody else had this same problem? Is it as easy as reinstalling QuickTime?

I Leopard I used QT7 to export .avi files with .srt subtitle files to AppleTV. It worked slowly, but perfectly. Now in Snow Leopard I tried to do the same, the result is a file with subtitles over black video. (not with the new QTX nor with the old QT7 left behind in Utilities)
This situation is so frustrating! it has nothing to do with mac! this is so Windows! How come the new QT o System environment limits you in this freaking way? I want my Leopard back. I could live without every new feature in Snow Leopard, but I can´t live without my old Quicktime 7.

Invalid Registratio for Quicktime 7 Pro

I'm pretty good with computers and I'm trying to register for Quicktime Pro. I'm currently running Quicktime 7.1.1 and nothing seems to be working. I've followed the instructions exactly.
The name I registered with in the email is what I've tried typing and copy/pasting into the Registered to field. The key is the same one in the email as well and I've tried typing and copy/pasting that as well. NOTHING is working, I keep getting a invalid registration warning.

Apple sells Pro upgrades for both Mac and PC versions of the software.
You did purchase the correct version, didn't you?
The name may also include a "salutation" (Mr. Mrs. etc) that must also be used. Even entering Bob where Robert was used in the name for the purchase will show invalid registration.
Best to use copy paste for both fields.

Quicktime 7 Pro and Snow Leopard

After following the suggestions on various forums, I am still unable to export .wma files recorded on a Olympus recorder using Quicktime 7 Pro. It worked beautifully on my old Macbook and I'm extremely frustrated with trying to find the solution. I have re-installed Quicktime 7 from the included DVD and even re-purchased the pro upgrade to obtain a new activation key. Help?

This should answer your export & saving question.
I had the same problem as I just wiped my OSX.5 mac and installed a fresh new copy of OSX.6 onto it.
It seems that Telestream's Flip4Mac current version 2.3.4 no longer allows Quicktime Pro users to export WMV files. But I was able to download an earlier version 2.2.1.11 which still allows for export and saving.
Previous versions of Flip4Mac are currently available as I write this post at the following URL:

Hopefully your Flip4Mac license you purchased will work with a downgraded product. If not the (FREE) version works as this is what I have installed.
Remember to uninstall your current version of Flip4Mac before installing the older version. By default you can find a Flip4Mac uninstaller package in the Flip4Mac folder located in the applications folder.
Also don't be tempted to upgrade Flip4Mac after you downgrade it. As a safety keep the old version .pkg file in a safe place as the file may not be available for download in the future.

I have installed Logic express 9 and then upgraded it to Logic Studio. Logic site do state that quicktime 7 pro is included in the Logic studio package. I have installed everything from the dvds, but i don't see quicktime 7 pro appearing anywhere. Anyone know about this?

Logic Studio may only "key" the QT 7 player for "Pro" use. I.e., Apple is very touchy about others distributing their software. In any case, I suspect Logic Studio may expect QT 7 v7.6.6 to already be installed on you your system in its default "Applications > Utilities" folder location. If it is not there, then you will have to download it manually at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL923 and run the installer since QT X v10.2 (included with Mountain Lion) cannot be upgraded for "Pro" use.

Is it possible to record audio file in a wav file format using QuickTime 7 Pro for Windows? The system I want to upload audio files that I record to requires they be in a wav file format / PCM - 112025kh / 8 bit mono / 11.05khz

QuickTime Pro for Windows allows you to make audio recordings from some input devices.
You can then "export" these new files to .wav format at any setting you choose.

QuickTime 7 Pro Key Does Not Work

Apple Store sent me a QT Pro "key" and link to on-line instructions. Nothing works. My System Preferences QuickTime dialog/panel does not have an OK button (or a Register button). It's a dead-end dialog. Email reply to my plea for help from Apple Support said I cannot use the QT 7 Pro key on a Mac with OS X 10.3.9 and QuickTime 7.0.3. Said to reinstall 7.0.1 (downgrading from 7.0.3), which I have done, to no avail. Next, I'm supposed to reinstall QuickTime 6.... Before I went to the Apple online store to buy QuickTime Pro, I already had QT 7.0.3 on my Mac OS X, 10.3.9, system. I paid for QT 7 Pro and got the "key"/registration email from Apple.
