Why if I have Snow Leopard, 64 bit i5 processor can I not imput information on Turbo Tax Home and Business??? I downloaded the disk and then the online version in case that would work. Neither worked. Any helpful hints? I put a call in and waited a very long time. Gave up. It is Sunday maybe they don't answer on Sundays ;-(

As The hatter points out, we have no idea what Mac you are using, and that's important because Turbo Tax requires Snow Leopard (10.6.8) minimum and a 64 bit processor. See https://discussions.apple.com/message/20511304#20511304, especially the postings by Bob Meighan, who is a TurboTax VP.

Clearly there are some applications I need to remove and no doubt my HD could do with a 'spring clean'. My Mac 'Safe Booted' when I turned it on this morning.
I use many different softwares, some web-based. The decision to upgrade to OSX Yosemite is because I was unable to attend a Webinar this week using GoToMeeting downloadable software. GoToMeeting have upgraded their system and my OS is no longer supported. Other websites like VImeo no longer support my version of Safari. I tend to use Chrome if Safari isn't compatible.

I'm thinking of upgrading from v10.6.8 Snow Leopard to OS X Yosemite. However I have noticed that my MacBook Pro becoming ‘slow’ over the last 3 weeks and therefore might have some issues that need to be resolved before I even consider installing OSX Yosemite. I have a macbook pro running snow leopard. Just recently I cannot view youtube videos and other online videos. I recently updated my flashplayer plugin and I believe that is the problem. Is the latest flashplayer plugin compatible with 10.6.8? If this is so, I need to find an older flash player plugin to reinstall. I do not want to upgrade from 10.6.8 at this time because I have 18 yrs. worth of financial records on Quicken that I have read will not work with Lion and I've read bad things about running music programs on Maverick.

1) Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) is a full featured app that can be downloaded from Intuit for $15 and will work with your data file if you are using Quicken 2005, 2006 or 2007 (if you version is earlier, let me know for more instructions on easy conversion):

I have Time Machine that I used to back up my old computer. It was running snow leopard. My MacBook died, so I got a new one which is running Lion. how can I restore the data from the time capsule to my new Mac?
In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her. -

I have tried to update from Leopard to Snow Leopard using disk. New OS wouldn't load and now laptop won't start at all. Simply get the Apple logo and the clock below and then after about 10 mins the laptop switched itself off. The Snow Leopard disk is a brand new family edition. Error message when attempting to install was that "this software cannot be installed on this disk".

I have had to go all the way up to my User folder and reset ALL the properties from there down to be unlocked so that I could remove the prefs.js file so that it could be recreated on the next launch of FF. Exactly why my User folder is locked in such a way as to stop me/FF making changes when I have been able to alter preferences at will in the past, I don't know ...
So far, so good. I have since done a complete shutdown and when I restarted this morning, FF seems to be behaving itself ...

You were misinformed. iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later. Snow Leopard is required to upgrade to either Lion or Mountain Lion. See the following for the upgrade path and information to determine if your computer can be upgraded.

When you do get it downloaded, before you do anything else, save the Lion installer - make a copy and put it somewhere safe. you can then reuse, make a clean install and other things.

Yes I strongly recommend making a clone you can boot from in addition to use TimeMachine.
Carbon Copy Cloner will also offer to copy and make a Recovery partition on the 2nd drive. -

If you install those new OS X versions over the top of what you already have, your files and preferences should remain. However, it's a very good idea to have at least one complete backup of your Mac's disk before you try anything like that.

I have itunes set up on a PC with all my music, apps, etc. I want to stop using PC and move my iTunes and files to a Mac I bought and synch my iPhone with the Mac. Can I just synch iPhone with Mac iTunes and will it copy all my stuff onto Mac, or will I have to copy files from PC onto Mac?
