why won't my credit card go through? I just got paid. I have put it in several times and it doesn't want to work.

For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined (but you might not be able to use a debit card) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management

    If you want to use your current ID you will either have to provide a credit card or redeem an iTunes gift card.  Otherwise you can create a new ID without a credit card to purchase free apps by following this exactly as written: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534.

    You've checked the purchase history on your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, and have you made any in-app purchases or have any auto-renewing subscriptions ?  If not and you haven't added or changed your credit card details (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) then you can contact iTunes Support via this page (we are fellow users on these forums) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    I had this same problem today. I have been battleing it for the past 5 hours, but it worked. You have to create a new account though.
    What I did was go to iTunes and click Sign in, then made a new account.
    But I didn't want to put in a Credit Card number, so what I did was
    Open iTunes
    Go to iTunes Store
    Search a totaly free app. (I used Google Earth)
    Click on the app from the list
    Click the button under the icon that says "Free App"
    Then it will ask you to sign in or make a new account, Select Make New Account
    Follow All the steps on all the pages.
    When you get to the page that you select your Credit Card, check "None"
    Fill in the rest of the info and then click Complete
    Verify your email
    I hope this helped you. Strangely, you can only select "None" Under Credit Card if you do it this way. Must be some iTunes bug.

    Create a iTune and App Store account without credit card
    1. Go to App Store and select a free app
    2. Tap INSTALL APP
    3. Create New Apple ID
    4. Confirm Your Country
    5. Agree with Terms and Conditions
    6. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (must be a valid email address)
    7. Create and answer your secret question e.g. What is the name of my dog?
    8. Select NONE for Billing Information (see picture below)
    9. Fill in Billing Address i.e. your address
    10. Submit application for new Apple ID
    11. Wait for verification email
    12. When email arrive, verify your account
    13. Start downloading your free apps

    it's a secured credit card
    I checked with my bank to see what such a beast could be. So you have an account in the bank that serves as collateral for the secured credit card and the line of credit available on the card is equal to the amount on deposit in the collateral bank account?
    So the issue is between the iTunes payment system and your bank. It might be best to see what the bank has as a record of your attempt to make the purchase. I doubt any fellow users here can offer much insight as too why the system won't accept your payment method on this attempted purchase.

    Hmm. My phone had a crack in the screen and got a bit wet in my bag when a drink leaked. It didn't turn on for a few days but then it worked again despite the fact the LED screen was a bit damaged but it was locked on the Emergency Calls only screen.
    Anyway, today I did some trouble shooting and I was successful in connecting the iPhone with iTunes and selected "restore".
    This meant iTunes did export software and I could then see the little progress bar active on my iphone...
    Now my iPhone seems to be unlocked because it is not in the emergency screen anymore but it is asking my to select a language and then a country and then I cannot get any further....
    In Devices in iTunes it says.... "There is a problem with your iPhone, please visit the Service Answer Centre."
    Do you think I can revive it?
    Regardless, I have good news! I found my lost iPhone 4s so I am a really happy bunny.
    It would still be cool to the 3Gs working as I use it for my iPod.

    Did you change the Apple ID for an existing account? Or did you create a new Apple ID? If you created a new Apple ID, your balance will still be tied to the old account and you'll have to log into the iTunes Store using that old account to spend the balance. If you changed the ID on an existing account and can no longer see a credit balance, go here:

    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

    When trying to order an iPhoto book I keep getting the following message:

    Would appreciate someones help on this.

    Last year, and again this year, I was able to buy one iphoto calendar but then when I wanted to buy another to send to a different address, i kept getting the same error message, no matter how many times i double checked and re-entered my billing info. i finally figured out what to do (if i remember correctly, this came from apple customer service after many frustrating back and forths last year):
    - go to the "buy calendar" window
    - click "account info"
    - click "edit shipping address"
    - add a new address (the one you want to ship to)
    - make that new address the default address
    - delete all other addresses
    - then buy it
    it's really clunky, but it works for me. i'm assuming this will work for iphoto books, too.

    I had this problem 2 weeks that iTunes was saying credit card declined, I tried a couple other cards but same problem. I tried my normal card other places and worked fine. 2-3 days later iTunes worked again. This all happened then I was trying to buy Navigon EU ($130). I tried again to buy it 2 days ago and iTunes locked up again, saying my credit card declined. I can see many other users have the same problem, but have not seen a response from Apple?
    I tried to call Apple and was on hold for 1 hour and 11 minutes (watching tv while waiting on Apple) finally I hung up.
    I sent Apple support an email and also got them on the phone. I got 2 emails confirming the call and email, but still don’t have the problem fixed 2 days later. Since Apple don’t know how to fix this problem, anybody else?

    No, my debit card still appears to be elusive to Apple iTunes store, though there are hundreds of £'s, in the account, it still declines every time.
    I use this card in other places for purchasing and no problem. However any other card I use in iTunes store it's accepted.
    After a couple of months, I try the card that was declined in the first instance and to this day, still get's declined. I spoke to apple and no got no further with them. So I stick to another card that is accepted and hopefully that does not go into the 'Apple abyss' as my first card.
    There must be some sort of glitch that affects some peoples accounts.
