HT3702 Itunes charged for free app download (Update).

Itunes charged for free app download (Update). No clue why this happened. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?

If you mean the temporary store holding charge, as described on the page that you posted from, then that is only temporary, it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.
That 'charge' is made each time that you change your card details to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account.
If you mean a 'proper' charge, and it appears on your purchase history and on your credit card, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

I have a new iPhone 4s and downloaded some free apps formt eh app store.  A few days later my phone had updates to install on the apps but kept taking me to the billing details on my phone.  I deleted the apps as it was doing my head in.  I recently downloaded the 'free' apps again and I have been charged for them!!!  How do I stop this from happening and get my money back as I have been clearly ripped off!

  • TS1702 I am being charged for free app downloads

I have just bought a new iPhone 4s and after downloading free apps my phone kept taking me to the billing section.  I deleted the apps and then restarted my phone.  I have downloaded them again and I have just seen my bank account and I have been charged for the free apps.  How do I get my money back after clearly being ripped off!!!

You should go to your account info in iTunes, log into your iTunes account, search for your purchase list and click on "report problem", or contact iTunes via Apple - Support - Express Lane -

So on the one that you changed go into iTunes, go to the iTunes Store, login to your changed account and click on your purchase history.
If it does not show a purchase history, notify the people at the iTunes Store:

hi i am using iphone 4. for free apps download i am being charged in my bank account. how to come out of it.

If you've just setup your account, you're not actually being charged. This is a hold to insure your account details are valid, & will be reversed in a day or two.

  • Any charge for free app and issues at Apple Store?

In case we need to create free issues or even apps for iPad (from a non-profit organization), what will the incurred costs be through the whole process?
i.e. From the time of development of issues and the app in which the issues may work - is there any registration or license fees involved, till it reaches all customers - provided the package is for free?
Any charge for free app and issues at Apple Store for iOS apps for iPad?

You must pay the USD$99 fee to join the Individual Developer Program.
After that, there is no fee to put free apps into the iOS App Store.

  • Does iphone charge for free apps, does iphone charge for free apps

  • ITunes charged me $1 for Free apps download, why is it so?

I have been charged for $1 for free application download by iTunes, while it shows FREE status, i could not understand why is it so? Pls. help.

Is this the first time you have used the AppStore?
If so, Apple makes a temporary charge of about $1 on your card to verify that it is valid. The $1 charge will not actually be taken and will be returned to your available balance shortly.

  • I think I'm being charged for free apps?

Hi...I'm wondering, if there is any such thing as someone being charged to for free apps? I've been looking at my banking statements for  the past few months & it looks like I'm being charged for apps that I downloaded for free. I recently lost my credit card & had to get a new one. When, I changed my credit card information on Itunes, that's when I noticed I was being charged. I often download music on Itunes & upload my magazines to my Ipad, but these aren't only things I'm being charged for. Most of the apps I download are the free ones. It makes me not want to update my apps, because I know I'm charged. Please help me!

I have solved the problem I was showing negative balance in my bank so iTunes needs to verify my account by taking £1.00 every app.

  • App store won't let me download apps but wont let me reove billing info for FREE app downloads.

I cannot download apps anymore. Free apps. I used a card of mine that had a few dollars on it to purchase two games that were 99 cents. I had close to three dollars. But now I cannot update or download my apps thanks to a SEEMINGLY bad billing account. Thanks, but its not bad. There is enough for it to be taken out, and still have money left in there. I've done the math. But because of this issue, I can no longer download free apps, nor update the ones I have. Nor will my account allow me to REMOVE my billing info. Can someone help me out please?

If you were trying to use a debit card then they I don't think that they are still accepted in all countries,or your card issue may have declined the purchases. Do you have a different card that you could try so that what you owe can be paid, or are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you can redeem one onto your account - if iTunes thinks that you owe money then you won't be able to download anything until what is owed is paid, or you've contacted iTunes Support and they've agreed that you don't owe anything

  • TS1424 Charged for free app

On 06/08/12 I was charged for an app that had said free (the app is accoustic ruler.)  what is going on apple?

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here. Did you make an in-app purchase in it, or did you add/amend your credit card details on your account ? If you changed your card details then is it $1 - if so then it's probably a holding charge which should disappear with a few days.
I can only see an Acoustic Ruler Pro which is a paid-for app (?)

  • Charged for free apps?

Hi I just got a blackberry curve and was just wondering, if I download free apps, will I still get charged for data or anything? I'm with Koodo and on my plan I have unlimited facebook, bbm, twitter, etc. but nothing for web browsing or anything like that so I just want to make sure I don't get charged for it

If you're not paying for a data plan you'll probably get charged for data not included in the plan you have.
    So, be careful.

  • How do I keep getting charged for free apps

Hi I keep getting charged for downloading free game apps for my son. Why is this
I've been charged about £33.00 now for all different games that are ment to be free

It sounds like your son made in app purchases. These are very common with free games.
The games themselves are free, but the app developers offer in app purchases in order to add enhancements or add levels, and things like that. Stay away from those "free" games or read the app description carefully. The prices for in app purchases are listed on the left side of the app description page under the app icon.
You can turn off in app purchases in Settings>General>Restrictions. Or you can instruct your son to not make any purchases without your knowledge. In all fairness to your son .. Since I have no idea how old he is .... He may not even realize that he did make purchases .... Except for the fact that you have to enter your Apple ID password in order to make those purchases.
