New account cannot use FTP service

Hello everybody,
I got the following problem:
I have set a new network account in the server.app under Mountain Lion.
This new account has no local folder but has access to dedicated group folder through the participation in certain groups. The login by SNB and AFP works perfectly. The account takes over the service access fro the group services. In the group services filesharing and FTP are activated.
Now, I activate the FTP with preferecnes to provide Groups.
BUT: when I try now to login the connection is denied and I get the error message: Server response: '530 User <account> may not use FTP.'
If I use my admin it works.
Does anyone can help me out of this ?

Hi,
i change the login shell for this user to /bin/bash (right klick on user -> Advaned Options),
now the user can login.

Guest Account cannot use wireless

I tried to create a "Guest" account for my laptop so that I can let visitor use it without worrying that they might be sneaking a peak at stuff in my account.
However, whenever the laptop wakes up (i.e the cover is opened) it searches for the available network and then wants an administrator password to be able to connect to the wireless. Is there a way to configure the account so that this isn't necessary?

I have the same problem with my T61 running windows XP.

I'm trying to connect to a 802.11G network with WPA 2 (AES) security.
All my other computers connect fine, but my IBM laptop connects ok, but then disconnects only a few minutes later, this constantly happens.
In the router logs it just says it received the normal request to de authenticate and as the other computers work fine It has to be a problem with this Lenovo Laptop.
In the Access connections diagnostics log i see these errors:

Do you have restrictions enabled? Settings>General>Restrictions>On? If you have it set to on, you may have disabled making changes to mail accounts in which case you would not be able to add another email account.
If that isn't the case, try the basics ...
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of thebutton.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons

Does anyone have iny ideas about why? i have yet to update to the new OS7 yet, could that be it?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Deleted duplicated aliases in iCloud, now cannot use email account.

I have switched to iCloud from MobileMe.
I had 5 emails aliases with MobileMe. Also I was dotMac user before.
Mobile me gave us 5 email aliases before.
When I logged in iCloud.com to check my existing aliases, some of my aliases of email address were duplicated in the list. I deleted duplicated ones.
Now even it show in my aliases list, those ones I have delete the duplicated aliases I cannot use. If someone try to send me email, "the ricipient was rejected by server because the user unknown"
I cannot delete and create again because now only 3 aliases can have.
It still say the list I have those aliases but cannot use, what can I do?
I need those email address which very important.
I think duplicated ones were dot mac one with @mac.com and @me.com 2 together one of those 2 mail accounts line and me.com ones say only @me.com ones.
Because one from dotmac data and other from mobile me data, deleted those server think no longer there.
I am sure some guys did same as me.
Please Anyone could you help?

After complete reset of iPod after lockout, I cannot retrieve old gamecenter ID. how can I use my old account for gamecenter now that we have had to create a new username?

We had to create a new username for gamecenter using the same apple ID. We want to use the old gamecenter account....we have purchased in-app items for those games and now have no access to that account. How can I fix this? Or am I just out of luck and start over with the new username.....

You are running into the Activation lock and you need to enter the Apple ID and password for the account last used on the iPod.

By the sounds of it you have linked Email Accounts, if so this means that you will both recieve the majority of the same Emails, and if you do and you read them on your account (which is linked with your husbands) then they will appear to read on the both of them because they are linked. With the majority of Email providers these days they're Emails are (simplified) in the cloud you could say, meaning that if you read or delete shared Emails then it will do the same on both accounts rather than just the yours.

Your redemption code was used to acquire an activation code. The activation code is what you need to use when you want to reinstall/enable the software again. Check your Adobe account online to see if the number(s) can be found there.

Yes. I have tried that. When I use the ID I had before, it sets it up as a new account and I don't want to lose my stats attached to my old account.
Let's say that my old nickname was "user10" and I used the email, "[email protected]" for my apple id. The credit card used is that registered in the iTunes Store. Open the Store and go to your account. Click 'edit' next to 'payment details' and amend the card details if necessary.

On your iPhone, go the settings app. Then select Mail, Contacts, Calendars on the left column. On the right column under Accounts select your Yahoo mail account. A popup with show up and then you have to turn the the Notes switch to the off position.

I have an issue with one of the Purchase orders which though got generated from the EB system did not get transferred to the backend system due to some errors.
The backend application error for the PO is : G/L account X1 cannot be used
G/L account X2 cannot be used. & PO contains errors.
I have debugged the transfer function module of this Purchase order and find that the I get this error message from the BAPI return parameters.
The message number in the backend system is from message class ME 045 -"G/L accout cannot be used".
I have checked and found that this message comes from a form FELDAUSWAHL_FEHLER. Now the perform is called in the program LMEXFU02.

Now can any one tell me why does this perform get triggered. What is the relevance of L1 & L2. i.e which fields it validates etc and why do I receive any error that the G/L account cannot be used when the they are maintained for the company.

We have faced the similar issue earlier.
We raised the issue with SAP long back, but no reply yet.
We can avoid this by either trying to suppress the error message either in SRM or R/3 for the particular GL Account.

Icloud account cannot be used to unlock this iphone

Hi I previously managed to set-up my iphone then lock it out by entering my passcode incorrectly too many times. In the end I have to restore the phone via itunes (which took 3 hrs)!.
I'm now trying to reset-up the phone, when I turned it on it remembered the previous icloud account the phone had been set-up with however it would not accept the password. Its now saying this icloud account cannot be used to unlock this iphone.
When i log into the same icloud account on the PC, the password works, however the find my iphone doesn't show this iphone as being connected.
Any ideas on who I can get this iphone working again.

You cannot Bypass the iPhone Activation Process.
The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required
If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.
