My credit card is declined without apparent reason. How can I rectify this? I do not want to use another card because of children securiity reasons.

If it's a credit card (I don't think that debit cards are still accepted) then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

    then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

    If not then you will need to enter your credit card details - you should be able to remove it after entering it.

    You need to add a valid payment method to your account. Purchasing and redeeming an iTunes gift card will work

    What country are you in ? If you are in the US then you can only use the US iTune store, and you can't use a Canadian credit card with the US store - a credit card needs to have been issued by a bank in the country where you are.
    If you are in Canada then remove your old credit card from your account and then update your country/region and billing address on your account e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and 'view Apple id' on the popup, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes

    In the Desktop Manager > Sync > Configuration, make sure the calendar options are set to override Outlook.
    Set it also to notify you of the changes, so you will have to approve any changes.

    My iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 2 are running 6.1.3 with no such problem and the same with the overwhelming majority of iOS devices running 6.1.3.

    It's not a temporary store holding charge as per the page that you posted from (you' haven't changed the card details on your account ?) and you've checked the purchase history on your account : if you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of the purchases.
    If you didn't make the purchase, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and may have done so, then you can contact iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    On your iPhone go to Settings > Store.

    Select Sign Out at the menu selection provided.

    On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on your iOS device then try tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

  • In Internet Explorer you can tell it not to store information on forms when you're on a secure webpage, so your credit card number is never saved for example - can I do this in FireFox?

    Firefox only seems to let you tell it either to never save forms, or always to - or you can manually list sites not to save. It would be great if I could just tell it never to save forms when the page is a secure page, that way I know it'll never be saving my credit card number for example. Can this be done?

    You can currently not opt whether to store form data or not, so you will have to disable form data completely or use a form data manager extension. Firefox 4 will do some checks on form data to see if it is a credit card number and not store it in such a case.
