  • I am unable to make purchases on itunes

    Every time I attempt to make a purchase on itunes, it requests my password even though I am already logged in.  Once I enter the password, it connects to the store and requests my password again.  It does this continuously and only started after I updated to itunes 11.4.  Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

    Choose country, and then at the bottom of the list on the left there should be an option 'Contact Support' (via expresslane).
    It's only users here on this forum - unfortunately Apple don't seem to have a simple phone number and you have to get support via email or occasionally a live chat option.

  • Unable to make purchases off iTunes.

    I've tried buying an album off the store but when I click buy absolutely nothing happens, anyone know what may be causing this? I've already checked parental controls and that's not the issue.

    I am unable to make purchases with my new Mac in iTunes Store.
    I can buy with  my iPhone or my company lap-top (Windows) without any problems. Only with my brand new MacBook Pro it is impossible.
    When I try to authorize my Mac, sure dialog window appears and I give my ID and password. Then I get error message: "There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required file was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed." The same message I get, when I try to deauthorize.
    If I try to buy anything (pushing button "Buy"), then I get following error message:
    "iTunes couldn`t download your purchase. You don`t have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. Change permissions (in the Finder) and then choose Store--Check for available downloads".
    But I have such a permission!!! I can see it!!!
    I have even made so, that "everyone" and "staff" also  have permission "read and write" in folder iTunes and all subfolders.! :))
    When I ask for "available downloads" immediately I get the same answer: " iTunes couldn`t download your purchase. You don`t have write access for your iTunes Media folder or a folder within it. Change permissions (in the Finder) and then choose Store--Check for available downloads"
    I have done:
    1. I have used the Terminal to correct the permissions (in Finder it looked correct anyway).                    -          NO Result.
    2. With Disk Utility I have verified and repaired Disk permissions. (There were approx. 10-12 incorrect values and 3 of them  concerned iTunes and other - Jawa ).           -           NO Result.
    3. I have moved all iTunes files in Thrash and installed iTunes again (previously downloaded from App Store ).                    -          No Result.
    4. I have verified Disk permissions with Disk Utility again. There was nothing wrong, but in spite of this I have pushed the button "Repair Disc Permissions".          -          NO Result.
    5. New installation of iTunes again.           -          No Result.
    Can it be, that the reason of a problem are not correct transferred data from my old MacBook?

    I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

    Go to http://appleid.apple.com and select "Manage your account". Log in with your Apple ID and password, then select Password and Security from the left column.
    You need to know the answers to your existing questions to reset them. If you don't remember your answers, there may be a link on that page where you can have a reset email send to your Rescue email address. This will not appear if you have not provided a Rescue email address, and may not appear even if you did.
    If there does not seem to be any way to reset your security questions, contact iTunes Support here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ They will respond within a business day. Be sure to check your spam or junk mail folders for their response.

    Depending on why it's been disabled you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
    Or you might need to contact Apple : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
    If it then works on your computer's iTunes but not your iPad then try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on it

    Purchased content MAY be available for redownload - Music for sure.  I think books are NOT available for redownload (not sure).
    Best practice is to keep the content on a desktop computer to be able to resync when necessary (or use a cloud service like Drop Box).

    I am unable to make purchases using my Apple TV. I receive an error message that says "your credit card has expired. Go the the iTunes store on your computer and update your Billing info."
    However my account is up to date. My credit card expiration date is years in the future. I make purchases all the time through iTunes store (music, apps, etc..)

    I have the same problem. My info is updated. I can purchase music from my apple tv, and from iTunes. I can also purchase movies from the iTunes store and transfer them to apple TV, but unable to purchase directly from apple tv.
    One fix in the short term is to purchase a movie from the iTunes store and then transfer it to the apple tv. It's a longer process, but gets the job done.
