I added my credit card for verification to reset my password, and has noticed it being charged 3times, is there a reason why?

Each time you add or change the credit card details on your account then you will recieve a temporary store holding charge to check that the card details are valid and that the card is active, as described on the page that you posted from - it should disappear from your card within a few days (though it varies by card company, and the weekend may extend it by a day or two)

Why was my credit card charged I didn't buy anything

These are user-to-user forums, we won't know.
You've checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account, Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11, menu option on your computer's iTunes), and have you made any in-app purchases or have any auto-renewing subscriptions ?  If not and you haven't added or changed your credit card details (when you do then a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the details are correct and valid, which should disappear within a few days) then you can contact iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Why was my credit card used and not my gift card

why was my credit card charged instead of my gift card?

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, we won't know.
Have you checked the purchased history on your account ? If you log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.
Or haave you added or changed your credit card details on your iTunes account ? If you have then each time that you do so a small temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.

  • HT1689 I have a positive account balance why is my credit card charged?

I have a positive account balance by the use of gift cards from friends.  So, why is my credit card charged instead of deducting the amount from my balalce?  Can I choose to debit my account balance instead of charging on the card?

    Hi,
    Apologize for the inconvenience !
1$ charge is a test to ensure the authorization of credit card. This amount is returned to customer's account.
Credit card information is not stored anywhere with us. We just have the last four digits of the credit card with us. Rest of the information is deleted from the system after use and instead a token is used which is secure and is not customer's credit card number.
Please feel free to write back if you still have any questions.
    Thanks,

Would be problems with purchases, billing, and redemption option.  It's not 100% exact to your issue, but it will get you to the right department.
Go here https://expresslane.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.do then select ITunes, then Store, then Purchases, Billing, and Redemption.  Then.. probably pick "My topic is not listed."

Why is my credit card being billed and how can I fix it?

Have you checked the purchase history on your account (Store > View My Account on your computer's iTunes) ? If you don't recognise the charges and you bought anything, including any in-app purchases and subscriptions, then you can contact iTunes support (these are user-to-user forums) and ask for help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here. If you add or change your credit card details then you will probably receive a temporary holding charge ($1), which should disappear within a few days (holding charges). If it's not a holding charge then you can contact iTunes support and ask for help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

Sounds like you have abn expired credit card linked o yoru accopunt.
View your iTunes account payment info and select None for the CC.
You may need to first add a valid card number before you can remove it.

  • HT201209 Why was my credit card still billed for purchased songs after my gift card was correctly entered?

I recently entered the information into iTunes for a gift card.  All information was entered correctly, and I got a message confirming that.  After this point, I purchased a song from iTunes, but I still received an email today to inform me of my purchase and to let me know that the 99¢ had been charged to my credit card.  Can anyone help me with this?

Assuming you were not buying a gift for someone else - gifts cannot be purchased using a credit balance - another user in the forums posted this as the reply from the iTunes Store when this issue was brought up. Perhaps it will help you. Regards.
I'm sorry you weren't able to make a purchase using your store credit. To purchase items on the iTunes Store with your store credit, your account information in your user profile needs to be corrected. I'll walk you through this process to get you back up and running in no time.
    1) Visit the My Apple ID website at:  http://appleid.apple.com
    2) If the site is not displayed in your preferred language, click the Change Language link in the upper-right corner, type the name of your language in the field that appears, then click the Save button.
    3) Click the "Manage your account" link.
    4) Type your iTunes Store account name (which is your Apple ID) in the Apple ID field, type your password in the password field, then click the Sign In button.
    5) Click "Addresses" in the column on the left. If you have multiple shipping addresses, remove any out-of-date or duplicate addresses by clicking Delete. Also, make sure the state or province field is filled out correctly for each address. To edit an address, click Edit. Edit all of your shipping addresses and make sure the appropriate state is selected in the State drop-down menus.
    6) Now click "Phone Numbers" on the left. The area codes should be in the area code fields and the phone numbers should be in the phone number fields. If an area code is missing, or if it is in a phone number field, your account information may not save properly.
    7) Make any other necessary corrections, then click the Save Changes button.
    8) Click Log out in the upper-right corner.  When you make your next purchase on the iTunes Store, you will be asked to review your billing information. At this point, you can change your information or simply click Done at the bottom of the screen to proceed. Once you click Done, you should be able to purchase on the iTunes Store using your store credit.

  • Credit card charged for someone else's purchase

Luckily, I have an American Express card attached to my itunes account and have them working to remedy my situation.
I don't believe that there was any fraud here.  Someone made a legit purchase at an Apple store using their Apple Store app, and with that the purchase gets charged to their itunes account.
When I noticed on my account that 2 charges were made at an Apple Store (2 items at the same time) and that I didn't make those charges, I contacted AMEX to dispute it.
They contacted Apple, who provided proof to them (that was then forwarded to me) that items were purchased and charged to my card.  On the invoice is someone else's name and email, which AMEX is aware of.  I believe that person used the Apple Store app with their name and itunes account, and Apple screwed up and charged my credit card.
This purchase was done almost a month ago. There were no charges on my card either before or since, that were not charged by me.
I checked my Apple Store account, and there are no purchases listed, not even the 2 disputed charges.  Not surprising since they weren't made from my account.
Ultimately, I won't be responsible for the charges because I didn't buy anything, plus the invoice info doesn't match anything to me, however, this is an error that if it happened to me, could happen to anyone's account.
Your credit card, thru computer error, being attached to someone else's account.
I sent an email to Apple, but they weren't interested.
    Beware!!!

It is always great to call and try to resolve a billing issue, however it does not protect your rights under federal and state consumer law.
You must send a certified return receipt letter disputing the transaction. This way verizon cannot try and collect the disputed amount nor turn off your device for non payment of the disputed amount. If they do you can sue them for $1000.00 for the violation.
In the letter state exactly what happened, who you delt with, who their names and titles are, address of the store and the correct disputed amounts. They include finance and late charges and reconnect charges if added on.
Then you either go to small claims court, or have your attorney write the letter as B33 suggested. If you have to pay the lawyer add in his fees and charges. Verizon will then comply.
Its a shame you have to go through this ordeal.
    Good Luck

  • Credit Card Charged Multiple Times When Ordering Photo Book

I had difficulty ordering a photo book. After reading through your support pages I figured out how to do it after trying 8 times - it kept crashing. Today, I look at my credit card statement and i've been charged 8 times even though it only went through the one time and I only have 1 confirmation number. What do I do? Who do I contact?

It's a waste of time contacting Apple in here as they do not read these forums or respond to questions.
You need to use the iPhoto support area, go here and select the country you are in :-
    http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/ww/
Then you should find a billing enquiries for like this (which is for the USA) :-
    http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/billing_inquiries/
Scroll to the bottom and enter the details of your issue.
