HT3771 Installing non Canon printer profiles for ix4000 printer

Printing has been a disaster since either OS10.6. or manufacturers started to cater for multi ink printers, about the same time 18 months ago.
Canon best quality glossy photopaper pro was always bad, biassed to yellow green. HP Premium Plus was good in its old fomulation, as was Ilford Classic Pearl.
Now ALL papers have the bias to yellow green (though not sufficently consistent to correct in print dialogue). Even the new Ilford Gallerie smooth pearl using their profile <n_IGSPP11_CANiX4000_PPPGn.icc>
I am now trying the new HP paper Premium Plus Photo Glossy 300gsm with better results as far as print density goes, but still a green-yellow bias.
I thought I might be able to download an HP profile eg <HP_CP_series_High_Gloss_photo_best.icc>, but I can't find any way to install it; doesn't behave like the Ilford ones in the Colorsynch profile folder.
Anyone have any ideas on EITHER installing an HP profile (and which one would suit 3-colour+black printer to use with canon printer) OR correcting the colour bias consistently please?
PS I live too far in the sticks to turn to shops & do (or rather did & hope to re-start) too much printing for camera club comps, greetings cards and local sales

Allan,
First questions...is your monitor hardware calibrated? How is the quality of other printing (from Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.)?
I'm thinking that if this is a problem specific to printing from the Avery software, you should speak with Avery and ask how you should set up your files for printing through their software.

  • Canon S9000 Profiles for LR1.1

I only use Canon paper/ink with this device but does anyone know where I can get profiles for this printer ? The only one included with the Vista driver is BJ Colour Printer Profile 2000.

    Ian,
I use a canon i9950 (aka i9900)and successfully use the Canon supplied PR1 (PR101 paper) and SP1(SG201 paper) profiles in both LR1.0 and LR1.1 but under XP SP2. They are the same ones I use for Photoshop.
The profiles are very difficult to find on the US web site (try ICC profile in the search and you get the PDF but not the profiles themselves).
I have them in a zip file from someone in Canon Europe so if you would like me to send them give me an email address.

  • Does anyone know where to find printer profiles for Epson paper with MG6200 printer using Lightroom?

Does anyone know where to find printer profiles for Epson paper with MG6200 printer for use in LightRoom5?

Epsnm should provide recommended settings (I.e. Which Canon paper type to select). They may also have profiles on their site.

  • Printer Profiles for Epson R260

I need to download UCC Printer Profiles for my Epson 260.
But the website doesn't list any.
It does show profiles for the R2200.
    Where are they?

    Geoff & Jao,
Evidently Epson does not generate ICC Profiles for the R260, just for the high-end printers like the R2200.
The Epson R260 driver has selections for all kinds of papers and different levels of preset quality and manual settings.
I have tested a lot of them.
Using Lightroom and Printer-managed color, all pictures are dull and lack-luster.
However, Lightroom has a profile for the R260 series; and with Epson driver set for ICC, pictures are good as PSE5 using ColorMatch RGB and Qimage with Epson drivers. I am using plain Photo Glossy paper and I don't know how the Lightroom profile knows which paper I'm using.
I searched in my PC for /Library/Colorsync/Profile and didn't find it. Do you know where it is in a PC?
Jao says to turn off color management in the driver. OFF seems to be bad; choosing ICC seems to be good.

Do you have the old printer queue in use? This made problems in my case. Remove the queue and the printer in prefpane. Add the printer again and try out. Perhaps in your case it is a differnt problem, but you have nothing to loose.

  • F-58 Print Program for Check Printing

    Hi Guys,
    Have some questions here:
    1) How to locate the print program for F-58 on the Check? We can configure the form by payment method but can't seem to find the print program like other FI correspondences.
    2) Can i ignore the check printing and just print payment advice (if any) after posting via F-58?
    Anyone has done this before?
    Please advice.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Andrew

    Hi

There is Print program for check printing : RFFOUS_C
along with above print program Payment Advice and Payment summary will be printed.
check tcode: OBVCU, here we assign the print program.
and Form will be assigned in tcode: OBVU
or in last case do payment with out any print and create payment advice manually in tcode: FBE1
    any questions revert back please

  • Printer profile for non canon paper

Is there a list of profiles for Epson, Kodak, OfficeMax, etc photo papers?

You would get custom profiles from the paper manufacturer website, or, if they don't have custom profiles the recommended Canon profiles to use (I am assuming you are using a Canon printer.)

  • Copying or installing paper specific colorsync profiles for my canon ip4300

I have the specific colorsync profiles for the various types of paper loaded for my canon IP4300 on one of my imacs that i moved upstairs. I have one of the new 2.8 C2D 24inch imacs now connected and i want to print from it to the Canon. the problem is that i do not recall how i got the profiles onto the other mac. i want to copy the profiles and get them onto the new imac. I cannot seem to find them after looking at EVERY library file on the system and searching for the profile names etc. Please help me know where to look and how i can get them moved over or get the profiles from somewhere and install them. they are not on the disc that came with the printer.
As a side i know i can print across the network but it requires that i go up and down the stairs and across the house to check output.

Normally, they would be in the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder. They may also have been installed in the Profiles folder of your user account, but not as likely.
Sometimes though, they are buried in with the printer drivers themselves. As an example, the Epson 4000 we use copied all of the profiles it came with into the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder. We didn't want to use the provided profiles, so we deleted all of them. To our surprise, they all continued to show up in the lists of profiles. Turned out they were also in a package file named SPro4000.plugin in the /Library/Printers/EPSON/ folder.
Have you contacted Canon to see if they could help you locate them?

  • Printer profile for Canon inkjet

I am having a bit of trouble getting my printer to render colours satisfactorily.
My printer is a Canon Pixma iP 3600 but I am not sure which settings give optimum results from Illustrator RGB files.
    1) Should I specify a colour profile for Illustrator or is Emulate Adobe Illustrator o.k.?
    2) Is there anything else I should do if I use Indesign for output?
    3) When I go to print, Color Management in the Print dialogue gives me various Printer Profile options, including:
Does anyone know which of these Canon  iP3600 series profiles works (or is supposed to work) best? (I have had dismal results using Adobe RGB and can find nothing about profiles in the printer handbook. For example, I don’t know the difference between MP2, PR1, PR2 etc.)
As for Rendering Intent, it is important in this case that colours reproduce as accurately as the printer will allow. My instinct tells me to use Absolute Colorimetric because I have adjusted the colours in my files very carefully.

    Steve,
Have you tried a custom RGB test sheet (maybe with notes on settings written into it for each combination) and a waste of raw materials?

  • Printer profiles for Canon i950

    Hi,
I am using Mac Pro, OSX 10.5.3, CS3, with a Canoni950 printer. In attempting to print CD labels using Avery Click N Build 3D software, I have also historically been unable to find the printer profile that is compatible with my set up. Even after serious color correction episodes I can never get a print that represents the truer colors on the monitor, especially the Reds. Can someone please help me with the profiles? Also, am I supposed to check the Allow Photoshop to determine colors or the printer? Thank you.

  • Canon ICC profiles and color printing issues

    I use two Canon printers -- an all-purpose MP460 and a iP4000 for photos.
I use Canon's Photo Paper Plus Glossy II paper and Canon inks.
I print with color management off in the "Print Settings" and by selecting the ICC profile from the drop down in the Aperture print window.
Since updating to Snow Leopard, the MP460 prints images that are consistently dark using the "SP" ICC profiles.
The iP4000 has an issue in that it prints images from Aperture with magenta cast in areas of yellow to orange tones.
I have had prints made through online services that have come back accurate, so I am wondering . . . is this a Canon profile or driver issue? I haven't tried printing from Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as of yet.
    Any suggestions?
It is very, very frustrating since prints from these printers were fine before Snow Leopard.

I have a Canon IP5200 and had numerous problems with Aperture printing from OS X10.6.2.
In November Canon came out with new print drivers. With SNL 10.6.2 update and new canon drivers my prints come out pretty well using canon's ICC profiles. I use the PR3 canon ICC with Costco (Kirkland) paper and am pleased with the results. Hope that helps

  • What color profile for digital printing?

Under color settings in InDesign i only find profiles for offset press but what color profile should i use if i want my document printed on a digital printer?

    indewarry wrote:
i just find it strange that there is no 'standard' profile for printing for digital press. All profiles are for conventional press.
Like conventional presses, digital equipment uses a range of inks and papers, so there is no single profile that would always be correct, and the press operator can often calibrate the equipment to one of several differnt standards. I use a printer that offers both offset and digital (using an HP Indigo) printing, and all of their equipment is calibrated to GRAcol.
The fact that the printer couldn't tell you the correct profile is a big red flag shouting that they don't know anything about color management. Don't expect good color fidelity, and insist on a contract proof.

  • Removing Printer Profiles for use in PS CS3

I'm setting up my work flow using PS to manage printing. I have lots of printer profiles accumulated over the years and would like to weed them out. How can I do that? Where are they located in the files? I'm using OS 10.5.2.
    Thanks.

They're generally located in your Library>ColorSync>Profiles folder, but some are also in the same folder under your User name. Because I make custom profiles for both myself and others, not only inkjets but at least twenty different printing houses and a couple of photo labs here in lo-cal, I have hundreds. What I do is make a new folder called Profiles Disabled and move all the unwanted profiles to that folder. I'm not getting rid of them permanently but getting them out of sight as far as Ps is concerned.
