HT3775 Can someone direct me as to how I check whether I have the media formats and codecs that QuickTime Player can play back using my Mac Pro?
I'm trying to use quicktime on my macbook pro but I receive the message below when I make an attemp to use it. Any suggestions?

Below are the media formats and codecs that QuickTime Player can play back in Mac OS X v10.6.x or later:
More alternatives to Quicktime. VLC is recommended a lot.

To sync photos from a Mac or Windows PC to your device using photo applications
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device's icon in the Devices list on the left.
Click the Photos tab.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Note: Some versions of Photoshop Album and Photoshop Elements don't support collections. You can still use them to sync all your photos.
If you want to sync all your photos, enable the option for "All photos, albums, events, and faces." If you want to sync photos from only some albums, events, or faces, enable the option for "Selected albums, events, and faces" and then select the albums you want. Click Apply.
To sync photos from a folder on your hard disk to your device
Drag the images you want into a folder on your computer. If you want images to appear in separate photo albums on your device, create folders inside the main folder and drag images into the new folders.
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left.
Choose "Sync photos from."
Select Choose Folder from the pop-up menu and choose your main image folder.
Click Apply. -

I'm sorry, I do not fully understand your question. However if you are looking for the email address which you have used for your iTunes account, you can find this out by using the "get info" command on any items you have previously purchased from iTunes and navigating to the summary tab.

My mum set up an iCloud account for my iPhone 4 but forgot the password. This caused me to create a new account, and it can be used for the App Store and iTunes and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account (the one my mum made). My device keeps prompting me for the password every few minutes after updating to iOS 8, and I've tried every option possible to retrieve the password, but I don't even know the answers to the security questions and I can't find the password reset email anywhere and I don't know the back up emails my mum used. I literally cannot find any legitimate way to sign out of the initial iCloud account without entering a password (which neither I nor my parents know). Is there a way for me to retreive the password or change to my new account without the password?

My problem concerns migrating, or moving my iTunes files from a Motorola-based G4 PowerMac OS X 10.4.11 iTunes 9.2.1 (4) to a new Intel-based Mac Pro running OS X 10.8.4 iTunes 11.0.4.
Context Summary:
1. Migration assistants on my old and new macs are not compatible.
2. My older mac has my iTunes library stored on an external firewire disk.
3. Part (but not all) of my iTunes files are also resident/stored on my iPod classic.
4. Finally, I need OS X 10.4.11 on my old mac and cannot upgrade it to OS X10.5.
Proposed method A: Is there a way to transfer my playlists from my Motorola Mac to my Intel Mac? If so, could I then connect my external firewire disk (containing my iTunes library) to my new mac, and then tell iTunes (on new mac) to use my iTunes library located on my external firewire disk?
Proposed method B: Would my chances for success improve if I used my iPod classic to transfer iTunes files from old Mac to new?
Worst Case Proposal C: I could start from scratch and recreate iTunes playlists and library on new mac.... time consuming proposal but it's possible. (Please don't suggest this proposal unless no other viable choices exist for me.)
Or have I missed something? Is there another procedure I should use?

Answer to your iTunes library question: By iTunes Library, I mean my iTunes Media folder only; not the entire /iTunes/folder with iTunes media folder inside.
BTW: Your pointer to ht4889 was very helpful, and sharing the folder, then copying it over firewire interface from old to new mac was most useful.
However, now with my entire iTunes folder (including iTunes media folder) moved to new mac, I remain unclear as to how I should configure iTunes on the new mac so that it can know about and use these copied files. I understand using iTunes preferences, how to point iTunes to my media folder, but don't know what other iTunes operations are necessary for iTunes to pick up where I left off with my old mac.
Is there any file conversion necessary?
Or inside iTunes, should I:
File->Library->Organize Library? or
File->Library->Export Library? or
File->Library->Import Playlist?
Please advise and thank you again for your help.
As you might imagine, I put a great deal of time building my iTunes library, and would feel very blue if I need to build it again from scratch on my new mac.

Most of the articles on the support centre are out dated. This is the second issue with iTunes that i've had to resolve tonight, where the article has told me to click a button that doesn't exist!

I have te first ipad, and recentrly purchased apple tv to see the internet , photos and all from my ipad on the tv, i have not founf the airplay app , can i download it r get it at the app store, can this be done? for the ipad one

I have an airport express
it can stream audio.
That is why the airplay icon shows up on the Videos,YouTube, and iPod apps
I do need an ATV to get the airplay icon to show up on Photos.
All of this is hinted at online but never written down.
the pictures show a ATV screen or box, show Photos screen with icon
but never say screen only looks this way with ATV available.
And I fooled myself by having an airport express which put the icon on all the other applications. -

There are also other media players with the capabilty.
Check the Mac App Store. Some are free, some are not.
They all have various features you may or may not need.
Flip For Mac is a pretty basic (the free version) player
for avi and other Wndows based video formats. -
