HT3775 This is about ****** up, I cant export my finished movie to my computer... WHY is this SO COMPlicated

I have read all the how to help online, I have read the Apple instruction.. I cant get the movies to go to Desktop and re play with opening FCPX. I want it on desktop, to view when ever, burn to disc, load to firends hard drives, ect.. WHAT THE **** am I doing wrong???

How do I export a finished movie created in iLife 08 to a HD camcorder?

Does anyone know how to export a movie I finished in iLife 08 to my Canon HD camcorder? The last version of iMovie HD 06 had this option. I was able export a finished movie back to my HD camcorder and play it in real HD on my home theatre. I checked with Apple support and they could not help. I don't know why they took this feature away? I have tried exporting an 08 movie with the 06 version but it does not allow it? Why?

I do not have imovie 08, but here goes a guess.
Are you able to export it as a full quality Dv (QuickTime) movie?
If so, do that and then open that new QT movie in imovie 6.
Export to camera from there.

i am trying to export my finished movie for the internet. i put it in h.264 with size 320x240 in medium qulairty, wen i pressed save it said error: unknown file.
i tryed to do it in mpeg 4 with same settings, and the same error came up.
what do i do?

Usually means that there is a TimeMachine connected.
Turn it off during Share/Export (and iDVD work) - usually works.

If I'm getting this correctly, you can open Pages documents but not save or export. Are you certain that you are using a fully registered version of Pages? What you describe sounds a little like a Trial version that has expired. Sometimes we may have an expired trial version of iWork in addition to a more recently purchased fully-owned copy. Unless we eliminate this trial version we will continue to have trouble. Do you think this might be the problem?

Cant share my finished movie with idvd, or any other medium]

my finshed projects play ok in i movies, once i try and share it to burn to DVD it crashes with a 194 message.
its a weeding video about 1 hour 15min in lenght and has music, etc on it.
i comleted a smaller project 2 weeks ago and it shared with no issue.
i need to get this wedding dvd to him any help would be appreciated.

All of the above information is also accessible from the iMovie menu item "iMovie Help". A browse through Help will uncover lots of other useful information for you. It's time consuming, but time well spent.
Regarding the projects that you currently have on an external drive (those that were moved using Finder), I would suggest that you simply drag them back to their original location (if known). They should then reconnect to the Event (or Events) when you next open iMovie.
On your internal (local) drive, iMovie projects are stored in your User (Home) folder Movies/iMovie Projects. On an external drive, projects are located in a folder named iMovie Projects at the top level of the drive (not in a Movies folder). So, drag the old (currently unusable) projects to the appropriate folder on either your internal or external drive.

Why the color mismatch when exported key to mov?

Keynote colors are rich and bright, but get all dull when exported to a mov.
Anyone know why this happens, or better yet have a solution?

Thanks for your reply. No, I haven't converted any color images from RGB to CYMK. The original graphic file was made as RGB. The colored box in PM7 is set to the Color Options of:
Type: Spot
Model: RGB
(R 255, G 0, B 0)
As said, in PM7 the two red objects look identical in colour tinting etc on the screen, and you can't tell the difference. But when the doc is converted to PDF the difference is obvious.
After posting to this forum last night (Australian time), I wondered if it had something to do with dot resolution. The graphic file is 300 dpi, whereas the red PM box is filled with color that may be at a much lower DPI, causing a dullness in the color. I assume the PM 7 default for this can't be altered. Maybe there is a setting in Distiller that could handle this, so that the colors are equalised.
The solution I'm currently using is to remove the box (or oblong) containing PM's RGB Red, then make another graphic file which is RGB Red (either at 300 dpi or 200 dpi, either TIFF or JPG, it doesn't matter), of the same page size as the PM doc, then place it onto the page and send it to the back so that everything else sits on top of it. When converted to PDF you now can't tell the difference between the RGB Red in both graphics.
I'm happy with the result, but it's a workaround.

I CANT EXPORT FILM!!!

hey everyone, big problem here.
ok so i have to get this wedding video out by today, but i cant get a full movie clip!
my final run time is 30 minutes, and whenever i export, it'll take aobut 2-3 hours to render. but when the render is complete, i only get 8 minutes worth of playable video, and the file size is about 5.8G
when i try using VLC to play, they say that my avi index is broken.
i exported the movie file in .avi, compression :DV-PAL.
i'm using final cut express 4.0
i need help quick!!!!! i'm supposed to submit this video like last thursday.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Cant Export at all.

Hello all,
First time poster, long time skimer. I'm having a problem with my Final Cut. After I did the Maverick update, I cant export from FCPX, period. not to Vimeo, YouTube, Facebook, or even to the desktop. Below is the error that I get when I try to upload from FCP to Facebook, Youtube........ When I try to export to a harddrive, it just doesn't do anything at all.
I have thought about uninstalling FCP then reinstalling, but am not sure how to save my project files so I don't loose them durring the uninstall/reinstall process.
any help would be great.

I'v always been able to export to web, or local drives with no problem. Only had this computer a year, had FCP on it from the start. Never had problems.
Any other ideas?

Cant export in quicktime pro get buffer overrun detected

cant export in quicktime pro progeam shuts down and a microsoft visual c++ runtime libary buffer overrun detected error pops up what is the fix for this??

I do not know if this helps as my problem was specifically with picture viewer but I also was unable to run the quicktime updater. I removed quick time via the windows add/remove in control panel as I had done before. But this time I did a search for all quick time files and found over 50 files (I have 4 partitions and they were hiding in one of them). So I deleted them, did a defrag (using diskeeper 10) then downloaded the latest version of quick time. Now it works perfectly.

Since you didn't state your operating system, you should go to your favorite search engine and find instructions on how to change permissions. Follow those instructions.

That's because Bluetooth is not supported out of the box for the transfer of photos to the iPad from your Mac. There are third party apps that let you transfer over WiFi or Bluetooth. I use this one. There are others in the App Store that you can check out.

You can also sync photos from the Mac to the iPad using iTunes.

Unfortunately, these boards have too many similar complaints.
There are variety of things that seem to cause these exporting failures. Most seem to relate to corrupted clips. Here's a list of fixes that have worked to solve some of the reported problems.
First it's worthwhile to trash preferences; use this app.
Turn off Background Rendering.
From within FCP, delete project render files and event render files. Select a short section and export without rendering. If it works, export the full project. If it doesn't work…
Create a new project. Copy the old project and paste into the new project. Export a short test and if it exports. export the full project. If that doesn't work…
Create a new user account.

Cant export from imovie?

Hello, i need help with exporting my iMovie project to my phone. After i finished both projects, both containing as much audio (recording my voice) as there was video, they both had problems saving to my phone. After i was done i went to the button where it allows you to export to many places such as youtube, facebook, iMessages, email, and most importantly for me to my phone. I hit save to phone and it says exporting.... With a loading bar but nothing moves. I tried exporting 360p and it still didnt work. I also tried another project with the same video but a little longer, not much audio and the exporting started to work (the loading bar was actually filling up. I really need an answer to this. Its getting very irritating, and i really dont see why its not working. Any help is okay. I have ios 8.3 which came out recently. I tthink iOS 8.3. I also cant export to youtube same problem. No error box popping up just says exporting but does nothing.

can you import from camera into iMovie?
here are some possible solutions
1. delete preferences (com.apple.iMovie.plist) and empty the trash
2. repair disc permissions with Disc Utility
3. use Diskwarrior or MacJanitor for disc clean-up
4. empty cache (CacheoutX)
5. disconnect any other firewire devices
