Unable to get Quick time movies to play on my imac. This is the error message I allways get.
"The document “4-20130701090400-7.mp4” could not be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands.You may need to install additional software to open this type of file."
Download and install VLC Player. It plays more formats and is free and highly regarded.

I believe there is a technique which uses some similar suggestion to unwittingly tempt the user into installing malware, in order to be able to watch some (usually sexually explicit) video, so be aware of this ruse.
The only things I would download would be Perian that extends Quicktime, available here,

I used migration to send photos form my Mac Book to my I Mac now i get an error message "iPhoto can not be opened because of a problem" Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of Max OSX. You may need to install any available updates or reinstall IPhoto.
I tried installing Iphoto it said it was downloaded successfully. I still get the error messafe, and can not open any photos of program, any suggestions?What version of iPhoto do you have on the Macbook and on the iMac? What systems are you running on the Macbook and on the iMac?
Does the message only refer to "a problem" or does it specify what it is?

I have a MacBook Pro core 2 duo giving me Internet connection problems. Every other computer around me can connect to the Internet except me. The error message I am getting is "connection timeout" I've attempted to google solutions with no luck. Help anyone ?
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network. -
I keep getting the error message "Restore Windows" When I click an icon on the desktop on my Mac Book Pro, it is not reaponding.
While holding down the option key, select "Go>Library" from the Finder. Navigate to the Preferences folder and you'll find "com.apple.finder.plist". Delete that file and restart.

I keep getting the enter Password for my Yahoo mail account. I put the correct pasword in and the message goes away and comes back a few seconds later. Also the YAhoo email account always shows only one email when I have more that one in the account. Help

Try the repair routine for Keynote 6.1
be sure to complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using Appcleaner from Mac Update to do this, its freeware
2 restart the Mac; Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

HELP! I have a MacBook Pro purchased 12/10. My website has two quicktime movies embedded. After 10.6.8. these website movies will not play on my computer.
NO ONE Else has the problem. I can play the movies from a file on my MacBook Pro purchased 12/10. Movie works on my ipad and iphone. Friends with iMac, PC etc. have no problem. ANy ideas? I would recommend using VLC player for random mp4 movie files.
If it is an MP4 from a known device like ipad or iphone perhaps ensuring itunes and OSX is totally up to date -

Disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) and use the external Adobe Reader application or Preview application instead.
