HT3805 Photostream not working in Aperture 3.2.4...

Just got an iPhone 4 (not 4S) and am trying to use iCloud.  I have activated my account on both the iPhone and my MacBookPro.
Despite this, I am not able to activate Photo Stream.  It is checked off when I look at System Preferences, but nothing updates when I take photos.  In addition, from what I can tell, I should be able to select the Photo Stream icon across the top of the screen in Aperture and be presented with some settings - however the icon is not activated (doesn't react when I click it).
Any ideas??

In Aperture you enable the PhotoStream from the Aperture Preferences, in the "Photo Stream" panel of the Preferences, like this.
Then you can browse the PhotoStream from the "PhotoStream" view in the Library Inspector.
Note: you can enable the PhotoStream only in one library, either Aperture or iPhoto, not in both Applications at the same time.

  • Photostream not working on my iPad 3 after turning on icloud

    Hi All,
Can someone help to identify my issue with photostream not working on my ipad 3 even after turning on icloud on the device? Both my iphone and mac bk pro are working working well on the other hand with photostream. Can someone advise... thanks

When you take a picture with your iPhone, does it appear on your iPad?

  • Photostream not working on iPad3.

On my iMac the Photostream monthly folders reside in the Aperture application. I dragged some edited photos into the August Photostream folder on my iMac, but they do not show up in Photostream on my iPad3. Both devices have iCloud turned on. I do not understand why Photostream is not working between the two devices.

Be sure you use the same Apple ID and the WiFi is working fine.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Photostream, turn it Off and On.
Be sure your iPad has more then 25% battery and let the iPad sleep for a while.

  • My autoscale for my watermark is not working in Aperture 3

I've been using the Aperture 3 program for the past few months without any problem. I set my own export preset with the watermark I made and it has been autoscaling my watermark perfectly every time. But, suddenly I went to export a batch of new pictures and my auto scale stopped working. I'm pretty sure I haven't changed the process I have been using, and I'm at a loss as to what to do.
If it makes any difference, I originally put the pictures on a PC to do initial editing then I use a thumb drive to transfer the pictures on to my Mac.
    Thank you

If you have been told to restore the phone with iTunes, then why don't you do this? It is irrelevant whether you have data that needs to be backed up or not.
You need to restore the phone as new with iTunes in order to complete the unlock. You should get a message after the restore informing you that the phone has been unlocked. If the SIM does not work after that, then Sprint has NOT unlocked the phone, and you would have to go back to them. Apple does not unlock phones; only the carriers do.

  • Panasonic FZ1000 RAW not working in Aperture

My FZ1000 RAW files are not able to be read in Aperture (getting "Unsupported image format" message. RAW support for the FZ1000 was added in Digital Camera RAW 5.07, which I downloaded and installed. When I go to About Aperture, it's showing DC RAW 5.07, build 760.1 but yet it's still not working. I have rebooted my Mac but still nothing.
I'm running Aperture 3.5.1 with Mavericks 10.9.4. Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Todd

I removed them from my library then reimported them and all is well now.
Yes, that forces the reprocessing.  Instead of reimporting it might have helped to reprocess the RAW with "Photos > ReprocessOriginals".

  • Tell a friend MobileMe gallery not working in Aperture 3

I am trying to share my gallery photos - tell a friend is not working this week - it has worked fine for the past 3 years - what's up?

    Steve,
is that the same for all your galleries, or only one particular gallery?
Do your galleries sync o.k. with Mobile Me? Do you see the sync sign below?
Try, if you can "Tell a friend" from the "Web Interface" - click the MobileMe button and select "Visit ...", from your gallery it is also possible to invite people to view. If that also does not work, something probably is wrong with your Mobile Me settings in the System Preferences.
If the web interface works, but not the Aperture interface, check the Aperture Preferences -> Web.
It should show your account as enabled.

  • Search function not working in Aperture

The search function in Aperture 2.1.4 is not working,. No changes have been made to settings/preferences. Advanced keyword searching will no take place either.

The upgrade from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3 has to be bought from the AppStore; it is not a free update.  But Aperture is no longer as expensive as it used to be, but still 69,99 € or 80 $ (US).
Sometimes next year will the new Photos.app be released by Apple, and the migration from Aperture 3 to Photos will be supported, but I have no idea, if that will be possible for Aperture 2 libraries.
I've never run Aperture with Lion or later, so I cannot be sure, which troubleshooting measures will be save on Mavericks. Check out this link:  Aperture 2: Troubleshooting Basics

  • Fullscreen mode not working in aperture after upgrading to Lion

I recently upgraded to Lion and Aperture is not working at all in Full screen mode. I have followed the ideas in the forum (unchecking the preferences for spaces) and nothing has worked. I have reinstalled the Aperure update and this did not work either. Any other ideas?
    regards, Jim

    Jim,
    Try this:
    if Aperture is running, quit;
    control click Aperture's icon in the dock;
    in the menu that pops up, navigate to the Options sub-menu;
make sure "None" is selected in the "Assign To" section at the bottom.
Mine was originally set to "This Desktop", probably as a hold-over from Snow Leopard, where I had Aperture assigned to its own Space. After I updated to Lion, Aperture was misbehaving in full screen mode until I changed it to "None".
    I hope this helps...

  • Nikon D2Xs NEF not working with Aperture

This is so shocking. I should have researched more..... but I cannot believe that Nikon and Apple do not have it together on Aperture??
I just switched from the Canon 1DS, which worked like a charm with Aperture, to the Nikon D2Xs and Apertrue will not support NEF files from the camera. Frankly. I am pretty stunned. What's the deal? I find a lot of chatter in the forums about other Nikon model NEFs that are not working.
Since there are only 2 serious top of the line pro-digital SLR manufacturers out there, I would have thought that they would both be supported fully.
Nikon Tech support said that their plug-in developer kit has been available for a long time, it is up to Apple to take advantage of it.
Am I out of line here - ranting on..
Does anyone know of a solution to this issue, other than dumping Aperture and moving to Nikon's Capture NX (when they get to finally release it) and Photoshop?
Many thanks for you help in advance,
    NIck

So you switched from Canon to Nikon. I decided to do
the switch vice versa. What were your reasons to pick
    Nikon?
The EOS and the D2x are both very excellent cameras. Some things I find better with the D2x:
    Image quality.
First off, as far as I know prints from Canon's best and Nikon's best are similarly excellent. In spite of the EOS's ~50% higher cost and additional pixels it does not provide significantly better prints. Nikon worked some pretty good engineering to achieve that.
    Price.
Most photography involves price tradeoffs with faster/better lenses, etc. costing more. In the case of the D2x the arguably equal and in some ways better camera actually costs $thousands less.
    Speed.
The D2x shoots RAW at 5 to 8 fps versus the EOS 4 fps. When you are trying to capture the "perfect" instant of a rapidly changing scene higher frame rates increase the likelihood of catching the perfect moment. Or if you are auto-bracketing, faster speed captures your bracketed images before the scene changes. The concept of shooting a burst of 5-20 frames just to catch the very best pic is new to most photogs, because with film it was impractical. With cameras like these DSLRs new photo workflows may evolve. [Edit: My workflow has evolved. I now shoot almost all dynamic shots and many group shots as a burst of 2-5 pix at 2-5 fps.]
    8 fps Crop Mode.
The D2x will shoot 6 megapixel images taken from the center of the frame at 8 fps. So if one wants to shoot tele action shots like sports it is ideal.
    Buffer capacity.
IMO a much bigger issue than fast frame rate is the buffer capacity at that fast frame rate. The D2x captures about twice as many pix (~22) as the EOS does before the buffer fills.
    Card capacity.
Canon built a slower camera with 30% more pixels and that leads to less images per card, slower file transfers, etc.
    LCD size.
The D2x LCD is more than 50% larger than the EOS. The larger LCD changes everything as far as the ergonomics of DSLR workflow are concerned. Just try a D2x side-by-side against the much smaller EOS LCD.
Exposure Compensation (used constantly in DSLR workflows).
+/- 5 EV for the Nikon versus +/- 3 EV for the Canon.
    Weight.
Being a 200# male with large hands I don't worry about size and weight too much. The Canon does weigh almost a pound more. Dimensions are pretty similar, with the Nikon a few mm larger. If size/weight are issues the Nikon D70s and Canon 20D are much smaller but sacrifice pro features like good viewfinders.
    Self-timer.
Nikon has choice of 2/5/10/20 seconds whereas Canon is only 2 or 20 seconds. I find 2 seconds is sometimes not enough to let the camera settle down on the tripod if it is extended, so typically I use 5 seconds. Using 20 seconds as a cable shutter release substitute would drive me crazy. Often this is moot because I almost always have a cable shutter release with me.
    Framing.
Some folks prefer a DSLR to be the same lens factor as 35mm film. Other folks do not. Quality superwide lenses are achieved at a $500-$1500 cost while supertelephoto is a $5000-$15000 cost; personally I prefer the 1.5 factor since it extends the expensive telephoto range. However, 1:1 versus 1:1.5 is a matter of personal preference rather than one being "better" unless print quality were to suffer.
The high end EOS does beat the Nikon D2x hands down in lower noise at ISOs of 800 and above. I am not familar with the high ISO performance of the D2xs, however.

  • Why is photostream not working together with my macbook and iphone?

Photostream is not working togther with my macbook and iphone. How can I sync it?

    Has it ever worked?
If you recently turned on photo stream on the mac and iphone, then (on the iphone) only new photos are included in photo stream, old ones are not.
But syncing to your mac (if the photos originate from the iphone) is critical.  That's how you store photos (they can easily disappear on the iphone due to many "issues" that can occur, and relying on an icloud backup is not safe - to many users have lost some/all their photos when doing a restore.
So be sure to begin by doing a sync to the mac using itunes/iphoto with a USB cable.

  • "Tell a Friend" not working in Aperture 3

After publishing new galleries using MobileMe, the option to "Tell a Friend" does not work. It used to work fine in previous versions of Aperture, but now nothing happens. Using the email option to send a photo works fine.
Has anyone else come across this?

I´m having the same problem, but i've noticed that the same library works on snowleopard (10.6.4) and doesn't work on 10.5.8.
My main computer is a Mac Pro 2007 running 10.5.8, and in this machine, "tell a friend" button does not work.
    Any ideas?

    Edited to add **********************
I've deleted Aperture preferences, bun in Mail preferences I only can select Mail 3.X.X (Mac OSX 10.5.8)

    Kevin,
These types of issues are often very difficult for software companies to reproduce. There are literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of different combinations of video cards, OS versions, software installations, sound cards, etc., on machines out there. And Adobe probably doesn't have a machine with the exact same combination in their lab. If they did, they'd be able to replicate it.
The first step in diagnosing a problem is to find out what might be causing it, so they can replicate it, and then figure out what's going on and fix it. Without a way to replicate the problem, there's nothing they can do. Thus, giving a fairly extensive list of configuration is an extremely useful exercise.
On a Mac you can grab all this info very easily with System Profiler (and Apple loves it when you send this info with a bug report). I'd suggest the OP could do well to answer the questions -- because while yes it's noted that more than one person IS seeing this problem, the fact is that the engineering and QA folks at Adobe apparently have NOT. And until they know what's causing the problem, they can't do anything about it. I don't think anyone is filibustering here... but this is like going to the doctor and saying there's a problem and when he asks if something hurts getting upset about the question.

  • IPhoto 9.3.2 Photostream not working

    Hello.
I purchased the Mountain Lion and updated the iPhoto to its lastest version, 9.3.2, and every photo taken from my iPhone after that did not get streamed to the iPhoto on my Mac. The photos did make to my iPad, suggesting that the photostream does work, it's just not working with the lastest iPhoto. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

For some reason this didn't work for me. I had iPhoto closed, I unchecked and rechecked the setting in System Preferences however iPhoto is still asking me to turn on Photostream in iCloud when it IS turned on!!! I tried rebooting various times, I have the latest version of Mountain Lion and iPhoto, too.
What other solutions could be available?

  • Photostream not working on PC icloud for windows

Since the ios8 update and the icloud for windows update at the same time, I can not get photostream to work on my PC.  I have tried all the tips I've found so far-signing out and back in, doing a repair, completely deleting and reinstalling, turning photostream on/off on my phone, and so on.. Sometimes when I do some of these things, a photo or two will be uploaded, but never have I simply taken a picture and it uploaded to photostream on my computer. Now it seems even doing these tricks won't add any new photos. Any tips that  I am missing? Anyone else having this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Same here.
I've always struggled to get iCloud to work reliably. After removing the iCloud software over 12 months ago, I thought it might be worth another try with the latest version. But, only four pictures were downloaded before it gave up the ghost.
I'm using Windows 8.1 (32 Bit) on my desktop and Windows 7 Starter on my Netbook. Same problem on both operating systems.
