HT3819 Can I import my music from one iTunes account to another or play on the cloud somehow?

Can I play or import songs from my old account to my new iTunes account or play them somehow on the cloud?

songs are just files if you copy the files and add them to itunes you can play them
you can add them to itunes by drag and drop or from add to lib in the menu
but your music files will be tagged with your info so if people give them to others the will still have the personal info of the buyer

You can give the person a copy of the song files, which they can then add to their iTunes library.

No. Apps are associated with Apple ID with which they were purchased.

Can I move/copy songs from one itunes account to another itunes account on the same iMac?

You move the song files to /Users/Shared/ and then into iTunes from the other Mac OS X user account.
If you want to change the iTunes Store account associated with them, you need to redownload them from that account.

If you mean iTunes Store accounts, no.

  • Sharing music from one itunes account to another

We have all our music on one computer with our original apple id on itunes. My daughter now has her own apple id, laptop and iphone. Can I transfer all the music from one computer to another and link/share it with her itunes account so she can download it onto her iphone?

Music can only be synced to one computer....if done on one machine then you go to another...it will erase all content (to stop piracy).
Have him give you the physical file and you put it on your machine. Then try to play it in iTunes. It will prompt for his username and password (yes he will have to give it to you). It will then authorize your machine for his account as well (meaning you can play music from him). Note you have a limit of number of machines you can authorize and thus you will loose one authorization by doing this. So if you end up getting more machines in your home and/or other devices...you are short one account number now.

  • Copying music from one iTunes account to another

I have been using iTunes together with my iPad for a while now. My partner has recently bought his own iPad, has opened an iTunes account and set it up on his user account on the same PC that I use. Although he has put some of his favourite music in his iTunes, he is interested in listening to some (but not all) of the music I have on my iTunes account. Is there a way I can copy some of my iTunes music to his iTunes account?

No. All store purchases remain tied to the account they were bought with. You can however authorize your new computer for the existing account and then make new purchases on a new account. However with apps from two accounts you'll need to sign in & out of each account to authorize the updates. For the moment I'm treating my account as a family account even though two of my children have left home and we all make purchases on the one account, but they have to check with me first.

  • Moving music from one iTunes account to another

I have music that I bought using my dad's iTunes account but now I have my own and would like to move the music into my account, under my password. Is there a way to do this?

Are you referring to an iTunes Store account? If so, it's not possible to transfer tracks from one iTunes Store account to another. You'll have to continue to use your dad's account ID and password to authorize any tracks purchased through that account.

  • Can you transfer music from one iTunes account to another?

I want to make another apple ID but I don't want to lose all my old music.

Hmm.  I just discovered that quite some time ago I set up a second account.  Don't remember why, but just realized that some songs from my old account wouldn't sync to my new IPad.  Managed to get them synced by entering the old account ID (thank goodness it came up as a default).  But am wondering if there's any way to move those songs to my current ID.  I'm suspecting based on your first sentence above Roger that I can't.  That would really suck.  I know the next time I have to go through this process I will have forgotten that I have two IDs.

  • Getting music from one iTunes account to another on the same iMac computer

I have a iMac and my family all use it. We all have our own profile/account logins. My daughter has her own iTunes account (but with my credit card) and i have my own itunes on my own login profile account with the same cc # and expiray date/etc.... She insists on having her own account and to have her own music on her own ipod touch. I have my own ipod touch. However, I want some of the music that is on her account on to my account (and thus my own ipod). I am the 'administrator'of the iMac.
I don't want to have to pay for the same songs/albums twice. My daughter doesn't understand this whole concept of saving money and paying for things more than once.
I also don't want to burn her music onto a CD and then import onto my account for several reasons: it is a hassle as well as i may not be able to have the cover art if i do it this way. Can anyone suggest what to do?

Log into her account and open iTunes.
Select the songs you want in iTunes, then drag them to \Users\yourusername\Public\Drop Box\.
Quit iTunes, log out of her account and back into your account.
    Open iTunes.
File -> Add to library and select \Users\yourusername\Public\Drop Box\.
Or move those files to \Music\iTunes\iTunes media\Automatically add to iTunes\ folder.

  • Is it possible to transfer music from one iTunes account to another?

I have a daughter who is still 14 months away from being 13 and so cannot have her own iTunes account. If I buy music for her under my account, can I later transfer it to her account when she is 13?? Any other idea on how to manage it?

Choose Consolidate Library from the Advanced menu in iTunes, confirm this action, open the Advanced section of the iTunes preferences, check the path for the iTunes library, and move the folder at that path to the corresponding location on the new computer, using any method necessary to transfer the data.
