I'm trying to get my old information (apps, music) from my iphone that was previously on a different account to sync on a new account. I just got a new macbook pro and got a new account to go with it. Now i have tried to homeshare the accounts and drag the music over to download it onto this new account but i can't get the homesharing to work because it says the password doesn't match even though i have used the same one to log on and off of homesharing on my mom's account. I have recently tried to back up my phone onto this new account and it asks if i want to authorize it and asks for the password for my mom's account. I have the password but i am hesitant to authorize it with my mom's apple ID and password because i don't want her account to be on this computer. I want it to be my own account just with my personal music from my iphone on it. I dont know if it will just sync my iphone's information to my new account or just add my mom's apple ID account to my itunes on my computer. how can i split a library.. my wife and i used to share it, but now we have our own id's.. i want my music and apps off of hers so that i can sync my phone and only my music and apps will "come over"

I have told her that now i have bought her the Ipad she would have to log into her user, the only thing is there is no music in her itunes account nor photos in her I Photo library, i have spent all day trying to find a way to "share" but no luck,

Apps cannot be transfered from one account (AppleID) to another. Also, once you sign off of an ID on a device and add another, the previous ID cannot be used on that device for a period of time (90 days, I think?).
If you don't want this user to have access to everything on your AppleID, what you are trying to do is a bad idea. -

Hello, thank you for your prompt answer. I did have an idea that Home sharing might be the answer but could not quite figure out how to do it. I have enabled home sharing in my iTunes account, put in username and password, clicked on creat etc. But the homs sharing icon doew not appear in the left side of iTunes. So I got stuck. Any further ideas?

I had two accounts on one computer until recently. You need to use two user accounts on the computer. Note, I say I did it until recently, therefore I'm not able to confirm this still works, but assume it does.

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

Not a single account, no, at least not easily. It would be better to set up individual iTunes Store accounts, one in each country. Your computer and devices can quite happily deal with two accounts, and then you can just log into the appropriate account when you're in the applicable country. You'll need a second email address to able to create a new Apple ID.

An iTunes account is something you log into online to buy music.
An iTunes library is a collection of media and other items (including apps) on your computer. This is what you see when you open iTunes.
So, do you mean account or library? You can set up a new iTunes account but all your purchases made in that account will remain in the old account and cannot be moved. You can set up a new library by starting iTunes and immediately hold down the option key. -
When i connect my iPhone to iTunes, it says i have to set up my iPhone, and wont allow me to sync any media i have already purchased on it. My phone is not new, so I dont understand? This all came about when i updated the iOS 6 software. I have tried to re-set up my phone but it makes no difference and deletes everything off my phone.

This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone. -
My daughter has an iPod touch using my apple ID, I just purchased an iPhone with the same ID. Is there a way to keep my stuff seperate from her ipod but still share the iTunes account? I was looking through the photo section on my iPhone and found pics my daughter has taken from her iPod. I do not want my pics, emails, etc to show up on her iPod. Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases. -

Past purchases can be re downloaded for free > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.
