How do I switch my Itunes accounts into this new computer?
Copy the /Home/Music/iTunes/ folder to an external drive. Connect the drive to the new computer and transfer the iTunes folder into the /Home/Music/ folder on the new computer.

My new Mac Book Pro came with someone elses CD in already in the Drive
Just received my new Mac Book Pro just yesterday.
I purchased it online via the apple store.
When I was playing around with it just before, I tried inserting an installation disk for Office Mac when I realised the CD wouldn't go into the drive.
After a while I realise a CD was already in there - it was someone elses scratched up blank CD with a bunch of Asian songs on it.
How does this happen?? Makes me wonder if i've been given some second hand computer!!

But what isn't these days. My Mac Pro 3,1 was constructed in Cupertino, but it cost 19k. I guess Apple thought they should put that one together, for some reason.

errrrr. So I just bought a new OS X 10.7 .1 MacBook pro and I can't find iDVD : ( . Does it come already installed? If not is there any free software out there that can copy and burn DVDs???
iDVD is no longer installed when you purchase a Mac with Lion 10.7. Need to copy and burn DVD's? Use the Finder and/or Disk Utility. That's free. SimplyBurns is free.

Simply mount a disc in the drive, then in Aperture Export your versions to that location. Later in the Finder, Burn. No need for special function.

I was given a 16Gb ipad mini retina with cellular but I need more storage. We do not have the receipt as it is a gift. I like to swap for a 64Gb unit and pay for the difference, how do I go about doing that? I have not open the packaging yet.

Thanks for that. Yes, the ipad was purchased recently. I called Apple last Friday and they ask for the receipt. I wonder if anyone were able to swap their ipad for a larger storage in the past at the apple store without a receipt? 16Gb is such a small storage. -

After migrating a new Mac Book Pro from Time Capsule, I noticed that I lost a group of Favorites on the older iMac. The puzzling thing is that the Favorites are on my iPhone--not the old iMac or the new Mac Book Pro. How do I get the Favorites back?
If you are syncing using iCloud, try going to System Preferences/iCloud (computers) and checking Safari. If it is checked, try deselecting it, wait 10-15 seconds, and then check it again.

Hi I have a new mac book pro. I am swopping over from an imac. An authorize this computer message has come up for an old itunes account. I have no idea what the password is. Is there a way to find out or transfer to my new account?
Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though. -
I had an 8GB 1st gen iPod in it's original box in storage and just took it out to hook it up. Charged it overnight, plugged it into new Mac Book Pro and it was recognized as being an iPod in recovery but other identifying information was all indicated as "n/a" (so, unknown OS, etc). Error code 1604 came up so I downloaded iTunes on the Mac Book and it is currently showing version 10. But now when I try to restore the iPod, error code 1611 comes up and the troubleshooting doesn't tell me what else to try. The USB connector that came with the iPod was also never used before - brand new also from the box so that should be fine. I also tried a different USB port on the Mac Book. Any ideas?

You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.
it basically says you have to erase your iphone to sync to a new itunes!
Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content. -

Yes, that is the number. And what version of Aperture have you installed? The same version as on your old Mac?
But it don´t work on my new Mac...
In what way does it not work? Does it require you to enter a licence number for Aperture 2 as well? That will be necessary, if your serial number is an upgrade serial number. Then you will have to enter all previous numbers as well.
Or does Aperture not accept the number as correct? Then check the spelling; some letters are easily confused like "I" and "1" and "O" and "0". Do not use the number pad to enter the numbers.

I am using FCP 7.0.3 on my Mac Pro. I bought a new mac book pro and loaded the software on to the lap top but the software is 6.0.3. How do i get the update to the lap top?
.. and by the way, the jump from FCP 6.0.3 to FCP 7.0 (or higher) isn't an "update" It's a full version "upgrade" that has to be done using the install discs (or disc images).

Because of a lack of enough memory on my old Mac Book, I put all my music on an external hard drive. Now that I have a new Mac Book Pro with lots of memory, I want to move the music onto this new computer but I haven't been able to yet. I tried the migration assistant but that didn't work. Any suggestions?
I may sound like a real rookie here, but on my new MacBook Air there isn't a "Pictures" folder under "Users/kendallwilson" like there used to be on my old MacBook Pro (Early 2011). I'm still working out the new software on my MB Air, so where exactly should I open this new window to start following the steps you just provided me.

ITunes 7.0 does not allow selection of speakers for express.
The drop down menu for speaker selection is no longer at the bottom of the window for iTunes. Now instead there is a button that says Burn Data Disc. This new release of iTunes is really amateurish. Don't you guys test your apps anymore?
