HT3819 laptop died, how do I get my itunes off of it?

my laptop died, how do I get my itunes off of it?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Have you failed to do this?
If so, you can try removing the drive from your computer and putting it in an enclosure to see if it is still good and can be used.

How can i get the itunes off of my old iphone if the files on my computer have been erased?

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • My old laptop died, how do I get my songs back?

    Hey!
So recently my laptop died and it's going to cost $250 to fix it and I don't wanna be paying that much if I just want to get my iTunes library back. I only have some of my songs on my iPhone and I need to get my songs back since I have over 3,000 on the laptop.
You may say to download all your purchases, but I've put CDS on and I don't have them all, so how do I do this?

Depending on the nature of the failure of your old computer you (or a helpful friend) may be able to extract the hard drive from it, put it in an external drive bay and recover your iTunes library and other personal data from it.

  • I have a new laptop. How do I get my music off my ipod touch into itunes? It wants to sync and destroy months of work. Thanks

I have a new laptop. My iPod touch was synced to itunes on my old laptop. Now that I have my new laptop I can't get the music from my Ipod into the new itunes. So, when it wants to sync it wants to delete all of my songs and replace them with what is in itunes now. How do I get my months of work collating music onto my new laptop so I can add more?
    Thanks

  • How do I get my itunes from external hard drive onto new laptop?, how do I get my itunes from external hard drive onto new laptop?

A few years ago I was running out of room on my Windows laptop so I followed instructions on how to move all of the music to an external hard drive and then had all music added to the always connected external hard drive instead of the laptop. That old laptop has now died and I have a new one and need to get the music added to the new one. Is it as simple as just plugging the external hard drive into the new computer and importing or is there more I need to do? I'm just really not sure what to do and nervous about doing the wrong thing. The old computer was running Windows XP and the new one has Windows 8. I have downloaded iTunes to the new laptop. Please note that I am not super savvy so if anyone could provide easy to follow steps that would be great. Thank you!! Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks again!

  • My old windows computer died, how do I get my music off of my iphone to my new computer

The hard drive in my old computer is totally fried, and my iphone is the only place my music is backed up. Is there a way to get my music from my iphone to my new computer?

Here is a great program I used to use called TouchCopy,
not only does it copy music, it copies videos, messages, books so on and so forth,
It does cost but if you just need it this one time to put your music back you can download the trial version for Windows! Here is the link:

  • New computer, how do i get the itunes off the old one

I want to put all my iTunes from my old computer on my new one, any way i can do that?

There are a number of things you could do. One would be to network the two computers and transfer your iTunes folder from one to another. Here are a few links that may help you out:
New PC & moving iTunes library
Copying songs over a network to use with iTunes for Windows
iTunes: Copying music between authorised computers with iTunes for Windows
Another way would be to use an external hard drive, the guide for using the iPod as a hard drive is a good starting point. Just ignore the sections on enabling the iPod as a hard drive. If you substitute "external hard drive" for "iPod" the process is the same: How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer

  • How do I get my itunes off my Pre???

New here & when itunes used to recognize my pre as an ipod i downloaded about 7 gigs of music on this thing and now i want them off.  Any suggestions.  Be advised I'm not a techie.

Plug the usb cord into the pre and your PC. Choose USB mode. Once it connects you will have a new drive on your PC called Palm Pre. Clicking that and looking in the files/folders you should be able to find the media and just delete it there.

  • HT3819 how do i get my iTunes library from my old laptop to my new mac (my purchases have moved across but not my own music files)

How do I get my itunes library from my old laptop to my new imac? My purchases are showing on the new imac but not my own music files.

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music [library] to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - a somewhat bewildering and not always easily understandable set of options.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.
For the record there's this reference for iTunes 11 but it really doesn't strike me as having the specifics you need. iTunes 11 for Mac: Move your library to another computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12168
